Lili

I got back from Car Eight just a moment before the train pulled to a stop. Jake had taken advantage of my absence by getting out of his seat before I could block him. So far, so good.I grabbed my bags and stepped off of the train. I scanned the crowd quickly and easily found both Jake and my team. I watched as Sage slipped into a bathroom. Minutes later, she emerged wearing a black hoodie over her ripped jeans. A group of people blocked my vision, and by the time they had moved on, Sage was in position. The easy part was over.

I sighed. It was my turn. I pulled out the paper Julia had given me in Car Eight and checked it. It bore the name of a nearby coffee shop and was necessary for our plan. I took a deep breath and walked over to Jake.

"Excuse me," I said, "could you help me find this address? I've never been here before and I'm supposed to meet my aunt."

"Sure," he replied casually. "It's right over here. Come on, I'm going that way too."

"Thank you," I said, in a rather formal tone of voice.

"No problem. I know my way around pretty well; I've been here a couple times."

"How interesting," I replied as we neared the little shop he had pointed out.

A few minutes later he declared cheerfully, "Here we are!"

"Do you know if there is anywhere I could throw this away?" I asked, waving the paper with the address.

"There's a dumpster down that alley," he suggested.

"It looks kind of sketchy," I said suspiciously.

Jake noted the figure leaning against the wall near the back corner of the alleyway. "It's just a girl on her phone. No big deal. She probably came back here because it was quiet. She's not going to hurt us, come on."

He took the paper from my hand and started towards the trash bin. I followed hesitantly, according to plan.

Julia appeared, walking down the street. As she passed us, her phone rang. She pulled it out and stood in the entrance of the alley, talking quickly.

I cried out wildly as Jake lifted the lid, "On second thought, I'll keep that!"

Jake turned, confused, and the figure in the corner jumped out. She whipped off her hood and advanced slowly. Jake staggered backward and his gaze darted to Julia, now fully blocking the exit. His eyes widened as he realized the truth-we had set him up.

"Hey Vincent-or should I say Jake?" Sage smirked.

Jake's eyes nearly popped out at this. I took a step forward and Jake reacted. He charged at the entrance. Sage dove, but missed and crashed into me instead.

"Julia!" she yelled desperately.

But Julia was ready. She hooked her arm though a strap of his backpack. He struggled free and sprinted off down the street.

"Augh!" Sage growled, picking herself up off the pavement.

I put a hand on her shoulder and said, "We'll get him. Eventually."
