It was risky. I didn't like it. It was also all we could think of. And therefore a sane plan, according to Sage's logic.

We walked down the street while Sage ran through the plan again to ensure we grasped the extent of her "genius".

"Remember, we start by getting in. We have Mrs. Korba's invitation, so that should be easy. We then wander around, looking totally natural, and sneak down some hallway and find a way into the warehouse, preferably a way that's not locked or guarded. If the books aren't there, and we get caught, we were looking for a bathroom and got lost," Sage explained happily. I snorted.

"And what if we run into someone that knows we're after the books?" Lili asked, "Supposing, of course, that the books are there at all?"

"We'll cross that bridge when we get there-if we get there at all," Sage replied.

I peered over the edge of the bridge we were currently crossing. Staring back up at me with that same skeptical expression was my reflection. I turned back to my friends and asked, "What are we going to until the party starts?"

Sage pulled out her phone. "The invitation says it launches at five, and it's 10:15 right now, so..." She half closed one eye. "We have about four and a half hours to kill."

"How about a beach?" Lili suggested. "There's probably a few pretty ones nearby."

"Ooh, that sounds good!" I cried.

"I'll look for some," Sage said, taking her phone back out of her pocket.

"Okay," she said a minute later, "Gedaki is a beautiful beach an hour's hike away. That sounds good to me."

"Great," Lili agreed.

I nodded. "Let's go!!"
