☆Chapter 6: Enemy making is both a habit and hobby☆

Kelly complained that I was being irrational, I simply replied that the first day of my college life was not the day to get on my 'To kill' list.

Feeling sorry for the guy, I gave him a quick and easy choice, secretly hoping that he would choose the hard one so I could punch something to relieve my anger, be it his face or his special camera, I didn't care.

Fortunately for him, after my constant stabbing threats, he admitted defeat and decided to pack up his stuff.

My patience was thin and luck was on his side since he didn't fully unpack before I barged in, only a few clothes were spread across his bed while his big ass camera occupied the small space on the dresser.

"You one hell of a messed up chick." He murmured under his breath as he continued to place his camera in his brown leather case.

My forehead creased as I quickly grabbed my pocket knife from my jeans pocket. My eyes narrowed in precision as I threw the small blade slightly in the direction of Daniel.

A smile caressed my lips as he stood shocked, his eyes trained on my signature knife lodged in the hanged bleak painting of the school's crest. Apparently, the school had one in each room...Self-absorbed.

I didn't entail hurting him, if I did, the knife would have grazed his ear. I enjoyed the fear that followed my actions especially when the person angered me.

"What the hell is wrong with you?!" Daniel yelled with widened hazel eyes as he furiously raked a hand through his brown hair.

I smirked and leaned against the wall, watching as the camera dude looked from the knife in the painting to my face a couple of times before sitting on the bed. "Did you escape from some prison or some sh*t? Are you a convict?"

"Think Daniel, if I was a convict, that knife would be lodged deep in your limb instead of that painting, and besides, why would a criminal be at some prestigious university?" I tightly smiled and walked up to my knife, pulling it out of the canvas. I glanced over at Daniel who was sitting dead still with a look of confusion.

"Are you gonna sit there like a lost puppy whole day or actually start getting out of my room?" I asked as I played with the knife between my fingers.

Looking down at Daniel, I spotted his eyes staring at the knife cautiously. "You are aware that I could report you and possibly sue you right?" He stated matter of factly.

"You are aware that I'm the one with a self sharpened knife in my hand, right? Tell me how are you going to tattle with blood pouring out of your neck?" I smirked, totally winning the situation.

"Okay Pierson, that's enough uhm life-threatening." Hearing Kelly's voice, I turned towards her and smiled as she waved a small piece of paper in her hand.

"I received your actual dorm room, Daniel. Apparently, you and your roomie are next door, in my previous room. I'm supposed to be here with Pierson. It was a simple mix up and misunderstanding. It accounts for no knives and blood."

I didn't have to ask to have the knowledge that she directed her words towards me. I clapped my hands with a wide smile, "Well ain't that great Daniel? You have permission to leave now! I need to rest my feet." I complained as I waited for him to get off the bed.

With a scowl sketched on his face, he got up and began moving his suitcase and extra boxes in the hallway. Once the room was Daniel free, I threw myself on the ruffled bed, my eyes automatically closing.

"You just love making enemies, don't you?" Kelly asked as she settled on the opposite bed. She already had her bleak clothes unpacked along with a stack of books. How did she do that so quickly?

"Enemy making is both a reflex and a hobby," I stated proudly as I began to slowly drift into a deep sleep. I noticed that I slept a lot, a result of my mind in need of an immediate stress reliever.

●●●●●●●

"It hasn't even been two hours yet and college life has already made my sunflower sleep." My mom's squeal served as a personal and non-wanted alarm clock that distanced myself immediately from my Zac Efron dream.

By the continuous clicks that followed her words, I turned over to the other side hoping that their cameras would catch my backside rather than my sleepy face. I was not a picture person.

"The embarrassing picture-taking better stop now before I dismantle your phones and sell it for parts," I grumbled and sat up, stretching my arms.

Once my eyes connected with the people in front of me, I resisted the urge to laugh. Both my parents and the Jones couple had their phones out, their eyes eager as if I was the latest animal on display. They better be careful because this animal is not friendly.

"I'm awake now." I stated and gave them a pointed look, "Put the camera's away!" I raised my voice. I rolled my eyes as they hurried to do so and turned to the opposite side of the room, instantly spotting Kelly curled up in a flurry pink blanket, her glasses on while reading a thick book.

My mom walked over to me with a wide smile expressed on her face, I could tell that the tilt of her lips failed to reach her green eyes.

I couldn't do feelings and telling by the crease on her forehead and her faltering smile that lessened the closer she walked over to me, I knew she expected me to ask, 'What's wrong?'

I never ask that question especially in my household because 99,9% of the time it leads to complaining, sobbing, and ending with mind torturing yoga.

Mom sat down on my bed while Mrs. Jones helped Kelly with her clothes.  Mr. Jones and my dad began loading the boxes and suitcases in our rooms.

Internally, I was happy that they were doing so, as they removed the muscle pain and work that would have been put in if I had to carry my own stuff.

Mom's heavily sighing caused me to begrudgingly look over at her, I tried to curl my lips into a smile but my resting b*tch face refused.

"How are you doing my Rose?" Mom asked with widened eyes. I shrugged in response, "I'm content mom. I'm just meh."

I accessed her reaction and already knew where she going with this when she gave me a pointed expression. "Well..." She continued.

"Well, what mom?" I asked trying to act oblivious and by the slight frown that formed between her eyebrows, I could tell that it worked. I planned to drag this out long enough until dad finished and dragged mom away. Hopefully, this would end in no emotions.

"Aren't you going to ask me how I'm doing? Nevermind, I'm sure you'll have some witty response to that as well... I'm going to miss my sapling! Who am I going to talk to about my plant problems? You are the only worthy food critic who will tell me directly if my food tastes like messed up soil or not even though every single one of your responses is spitting my food out. All in all my baby seed can't go."

By the end of my mom's declaration, she was clinging onto me literally with her arms tightly securing around my arms. I sighed and I couldn't help but feel like I was the mom in this situation.

My thoughts were empty and black, the only thing my mind conjured was more and more blank darkness.

"Uhm." Come on stupid brain, think. "You always have Sally and Brent to converse with. I mean you planted a lot of seeds lately, imagine all the plants you get to talk to." I patted my mom's back awkwardly as I uncomfortably chuckled. I was one emotionless human being.

"No. All the other plants can't compare with you."

Mom now sat up and detached herself from my limbs as she sat in front of me with her legs crossed like we've done when I was younger. More like I've been forced into, I remember having to make up crushes to feed my mom's romantic self.

"I've got an idea Lily Flower. How about your dad and I permanently move closer to the campus. We are hours away, that simply won't do. We can even apply for a new jo-"

"Oh hell no!" My eyes filled with horror and I felt no shame as Kelly and her mom looked towards us. I was not going to have my college life with my parents in close proximity.

"Mom, I mean how can you even think about leaving all your baby plants like that? If you move, I'm more than 100% sure that the new owners of the house would destroy those plants. Mom, have you no shame? All the life's you ending. I'm disappointed." I gasped and slowly cast my view away from my mom, smirking.

"You right! How could I ever think of that? Besides the plants still need your dad and I. You proved since you were 7 years old that you never needed us once you went missing for five days and hanged with people who I'm sure were criminals after we denied you chocolate cake."

I shrugged knowingly, "What can I say? I've been stubborn since birth and if you add chocolate cake into the picture, there's no stopping me." I looked over at my mom as she laughed lightly and looked down, inspecting the white duvet with her eyes cast over with sadness.

"I promise to visit every second weekend and phone you every single day," I said grimly. I couldn't help but smile as mom's expression of sadness instantly morphed into excitement due to my words.

Mom and Mrs. Jones spent the remainder of their stay here, talking about different plant nurseries and restaurants that only offered organic food.

Their topics of conversations were like sleep enhancers as I found myself yawning every minute though I refused to sleep, not wanting more invasion of my privacy.

Once all the boxes and suitcases were packed in our dorm room, it was time for our parents to leave and I knew that the situation I had with my mom would only triple and I was way too mentally exhausted to deal with that.

I gave my mom a long hug and the moment I got to my dad, he paused with wide eyes and looked down. "Flower, how are you?"

Not this again...

Forty-five minutes went by and Kelly and I successfully got rid of my clingy parents, hers were surprisingly tougher than mine as they offered to bring the blow-up mattress to stay the night.

Now, Kelly began listing things we could do to spend the day but the time was about 4 pm which meant a long nap until I ate something unhealthy, only to fall asleep until the next day.

"Are you actually going to sleep again?" Kelly asked quietly as she began filling her closet with clothes. I answered her question by jump diving on my bed, closing my eyes, and humming.

Kelly chuckled, "Pierson... Do you wanna play twenty questions so we can Uhm." She stopped herself and sighed, "Get to know each other? If you don't, I totally understand. I mean why would you wanna get to know me an-."

"Sure but instead of 20 questions, we can play questions until Pierson visits dreamland," I grumbled as a result of my face being dug into the pillow.

"I'll go first...Zombie apocalypse or Alien invasion?" I asked and rolled my eyes as Kelly only laughed in response.

"Hey, don't laugh. That's a totally valid question." I said as I threw a pillow in her direction. She swiftly dodged it and smiled, "Fine, fine. I would say Zombies because they slow and I can't run."

"Dude, have you watched the Walking Dead? Don't be so quick to stereotype zombies. I would choose an Alien invasion because firstly I'll find a way to sneak onto their ship and get away from this cruel Earth. Y'all can die. I'll probably set up camp on another planet." I nodded knowingly to myself.

"That makes-."

The opening of our door cut off Kelly as a group of people filled our room. I sat calmly as my finger tapped on my leg to the steady rhythm of my heart as I awaited a reason for this disturbance.

The moment I saw Dominic's scrawny face emerg through the group, an immediate glare crossed over my features. He, being the jackass he is, smirked at me before turning to the group of people.

"Welcome new students to your fellow kind," Dominic paused and briefly pointed towards Kelly and me, "Freshman...Here, we visit the habitat of two new bait of Taramont University. We have Kelly, the sweet quiet girl who no doubtfully would end up either rebelling or some of the senior boys play toy.

Then we have Pierson, one of the rare and fewer freshmen who acts and looks like she's been here longer and most definitely one of those girls who would end up pregnant and married out of wedlock. Now turn around everybody, next we visit the Craig Wilson and Megan -."

I tried, I really tried not to kill him but the shoe I threw at Dominic's face proved that I needed to work on my restraint skills and anger issues.

"Sh*t." He swore and bent down, covering his bleeding nose with his hand. I ignored Kelly's warnings and stepped off my bed with a ghost smirk forming on the corner of my lips.

The rest of the group spotted my deadly self and immediately huddled behind Dominic. Dominic, feeling my approach looked up at me and noticed that everyone stood behind him.

"Freshman, you are supposed to protect m-" I swung my fist at his face, my knuckles for an instant feeling the smoothness of his probably lotioned skin. Dominic almost fell back if it wasn't for the group of people behind him.

With a blank face, I watched as he cussed multiple times under his breath, holding his reddened and bruised face. I wasn't done with him yet.

That punch was only a small fraction of what I planned to do to his filthy ass. "Guys, abort. Get out!" He yelled as they scurried through the door, him trying to squeeze through before I got my hands on him.

"Get back here you asshole!" I yelled and ran after him as he dashed through the halls like the coward he is. If it wasn't for the guy who bumped into me, I would have beat him up and stopped just before he met death.

"Can you watch where you going!?" I screamed as I pushed the guy's chest back.

"Your bad sense of direction ruined my chance." I continued and felt the heavy need to look up. I followed my instincts and my eyes met with ones that resembled the deep blue see undergoing a storm.

Damn, he was handsome. I tried not to waver as my eyes assessed over his dark curly hair that slightly fell over his forehead. The dimmed hallway lights failed to do justice to his glazed caramel skin. My eyes widened at his hardened features as his blazing eyes scanned me.

"Does it look like I give a sh*t?" His voice was rough yet smooth and I personally hated that I found myself attracted to such a d*ck. He walked past me but not before harshly knocking my shoulder.

I bet he expected me to react like a sitting duck and do nothing. I bet he expected me to continue with my life. I bet he didn't expect me to take off my left shoe and throw it at his back ...
