|| Chapter 92 ||

-Author's POV-

Madison spent the evening in her hideout, glad nobody had come looking for her. She was sure her little escape had worked. That nobody really cared for her, she even had herself believing that nobody loved her. That they were glad she'd runaway from home.

Little did she know, Cheryl and Kimberley were white as sheet as they searched the streets and Jamie had never driven so recklessly in hopes to find his little girl.

"Do you think we'll find her?" Cheryl asks, biting down on her thumbnail, her big brown eyes on full alert.

"We.. We will. Remember when Clara and Connor would say she'd runaway all the time?" Kimberley lightly laughs, hoping to ease the gloom.

Cheryl's heart begins to thump frantically. "I KNOW WHERE SHE IS!"

Kimberley slams the breaks, resulting Cheryl to fly into the dashboard and collide the side of her face against the console.

"Ah!" Cheryl yelps, the throbbing pain instantly taking effect.

"WHY DON'T YOU HAVE YOUR BLOODY SEATBELT ON!?"

"Ah," Cheryl whines, "You fcuking b*tch!"

"Don't you start yelling at me! It's your own bloody fault." Kimberley's eyes soften when noticing the red blotch on the side of her wife's face. "Aw baby, does it hurt?"

"What do you fcuking think Einstein?!" Cheryl grits, soon wincing again. "Just go to the bloody cemetery you piece of sh*t."

"No need to insult me."

"You fcuking broke me face!"

"Sorry." Kimberley cringes, driving in the direction her wife has demanded. "How can you be so sure she's there?"

"Just drive." Cheryl groans, keeping her hand firmly to the left side of her face.

Kimberley's foot presses further down the pedal, speeding her way to the direction Cheryl was sure her daughter would be. It didn't take them long to pull up into the graveled cemetery, instantly taking notice of the large abandoned building.

"Wait Cheryl, let me come with you." Kimberley quickly turns the car off and follows her wife, climbing stairs and entering the one of many doors.

"Mam?" Madison squints, sitting herself in complete darkness, with the odd candle flickering.

"Are you out of your god damn mind!?" Cheryl grits, "Get up!" She snaps, "We have been looking everywhere for you!"

"Oh yeah?" Madison rolls her eyes, not budging from the sofa. "Like you fcuking care." She snorts, keeping her eyes glued to the iPhone in hand.

"What're you on about?"

"You don't even care—"

"When have I not cared about you?!" The Geordie asks, "Quit your pity party and get up. I am not happy with you right now."

"Cheryl?" Kimberley clears her throat, "Lets get home and we can discuss it there. This place doesn't look safe—"

"Why don't youse just leave me the fcuk alone!"

"Don't you dare," Kimberley hisses, "How many times have I told you not to speak like that?!"

"I don't fcuking care what either of you think! Stay out of my life." Madison breathes, suppressing her tears from rolling down her cheeks.

Cheryl takes a deep breath, turning around and meeting her wife's furious eyes "Baby,, meet us outside. Let us talk to her."

Kimberley nods, doing anything to keep the temper-headed teen under control.

The Geordie waits for her wife to be out of the rustic looking room, leaving both Cheryl and Madison alone to speak.

"What's gotten into you?" Cheryl asks, softly.

"Why don't you just leave me alone?"

"What's gotten into you all of a sudden?" The Mother repeats, gently sitting herself beside her daughter.

"Leave me alone." Madison whispers, never meeting her mother's eyes.

"Sweets—"

"Don't call me that."

"What.." Cheryl's eyes swell up with tears.

"I heard you." The teen whispers. "I h-heard you." She chokes on her words.

"Heard.. Heard what baby?"

"You know exactly what I'm talking about. Stop playing stupid."

Cheryl furrows her eyebrows, completely confused to what her daughter was on about.

"What are you talking about?"

Madison takes a deep breath, "You told Mum that you regret sleeping with Jamie a-and that you regret ever meeting him." The teen breaks down, shelling up into a vulnerable ball.

"What—no—no baby that's – oh god, baby." Cheryl shakes her head, crying along with her daughter. She takes Madison into her arms, disregarding the fidgeting from her daughter.

"Listen to us." Cheryl speaks sternly, holding Madison tightly in her arms. "You misunderstood, baby. – Listen to us god damn it!"

"Noting you say will make it better!" Madison squirms, "Let me go!"

"I refuse to let you go until you let us bloody explain."

Madison gives up, remaining still. "Say whatever you want. It's not going to make a difference."

Cheryl takes a deep breath, counting to ten. "Your father isn't who you think he is." She begins, earning an eye roll from the teen. "I'm glad he treats you good because he treated us terribly when I was pregnant with you." The tears begin to roll down the Geordies cheeks. "Yes. I do regret ever meeting him. Yes I bloody regret ever sleeping with him – but I do not regret y-you!" Her words stammer, her heart beats a million thumps per second, and she was sure.. She was sure it was love for Madison.

"But how could you regret ever meeting or sleeping with him when I was the damn result!?"

"You were a blessing for us.. And I stupidly gave you away. Come on baby, we've been over this. How many nights did we stay up and talk about the past? I spent hours explaining to you and telling you how much you mean to us."

Madison shrugs, "I took it the wrong way when I heard you." She sniffs, playing with the necklace around her Mam's neck. "This is new?" She asks, eyes remaining on the jewel.

"Yeah.. You're not takin' this one. You've already taken all me other ones." They share a giggle, Cheryl soon wincing to the pain of her left cheek.

"What's the matter?" Madison shoots up, taking notice of her Mam's hand pressed firmly to her throbbing cheek. "What happened?" She repeats.

"Your Mum's a terrible driver." Cheryl half smiles, "Can we get going home please? We'll have a nice shower and snuggle up by the fire?"

"Okay.." Madison stands to her feet and helps her Mam up, earning another wincing smile from the Geordie.

"I'm just going to quit smiling." They giggle, making their way out of the large building. "I don't like this place you know."

"Yeah, you've told me a million times, Mam." Madison huffs, holding tightly onto the Geordie's hand.

"Well maybe you should listen to us for once."

"In what lifetime?" They giggle, Cheryl rolling her eyes but loving her daughter nonetheless.

Kimberley sighs with relief as she witnesses her wife and daughter smile once appearing out of the building. Quickly, she dashes out of the Rover and assists her two girls into the car.

"Aw baby," The blonde sighs softly, "We better ice your cheek once we get home—"

"You're not getting anywhere near us." Cheryl pushes her wife back and shuts her own car door.

"You know all you're going to do is whine about it to me." Kimberley smirks, giving a wink to her pouting daughter.

"What's with the lips, fish face?"

"Hey!" Madison swats her Mum's hand away, "Why'd you do that to Mam's face?"

"It was an accident Mado," Kimberley pouts back, "Get in the car and we can talk about it at home."

"Fine."

"Fine." Kimberley childishly replies, gently closing her daughter's door and hurrying back over to the driver's side. The blonde couldn't refrain herself from smiling so wide, she was happy to have her stubborn daughter back where she belongs – with the two women.

"Oh shoot," Kimberley tuts, "Call Jamie—"

"Why—"

"Because he's looking for you—"

"Argh." The teen groans, "Why'd you have him go looking for me—"

"If he didn't come buzzin' at our bloody gates we wouldn't have known you'd gone off." Cheryl cuts in, evidently upset.

"Why did you tell him to go looking for me—"

"Madison," Cheryl intakes a deep breath. "Stop asking silly questions and call the damn idiot."

The teen frowns, doing as her Mam has requested.

She waits a few seconds before Jamie's voice comes blaring through.

"Dad I'm fine." She groans.

"Where were you?" He asks, much more calmer than the Geordie.

"I went for a walk—"

"Where?"

"Just.. Around the corner—"

"I looked everywhere for you, Champ." He sighs, "I'm glad you're okay."

"Thanks. Sorry about that."

"Did you still want to come over to my place?" He asks, hopeful.

"Maybe another day.. I think I'll just stay home tonight."

His heartbreaks to the teens reply, "Alright. I hope you have a good night, text me whenever you get the chance. I love you."

"I love you too." And with that, the phone call comes to an end. "Can you both chill out now—"

"Chill out?" Kimberley laughs bitterly, "Chill out – baby she wants us to chill out. The fcuk are you on about chill out?! We've been looking for you like two chickens with their heads cut off not knowing what the fcuk happened to you and you WANT US TO CHILL OUT?!" The blonde shouts, silencing the car completely. "When we get home I'm having a long talk with you." She keeps her furious eyes on the road, swiftly pulling up to the gated home, impatiently waiting for them to open, and speeding down the lengthy driveway.

Madison's heartbeat picks up and it's not slowing down.

Kimberley opens neither Cheryl nor Madison's doors. She walks herself up to the home and heads into the kitchen.

"Is she going to kill me?" Madison asks her Mam, earning a giggle from the brunette.

"Don't be silly – I don't know she might." Cheryl giggles further. "I'm joking, calm down will ya?"

Madison releases a puff of air, pacing herself behind the Geordie.

Kimberley hands her wife a pack of ice instantly, "Madison follow me into my office—"

"But don't you want to ice Mam's cheek—"

"I said now."

Madison silently gulps and follows her mother into the large office space, she remains standing, unsure whether to sit or run laps as a plead of apologize.

"Sit."

"I-I think I'm fine—"

"I'm not repeating myself again."

Madison nods, siting herself across from her mother. No words are exchanged, it's a silence filled with tension.

"Do you realize how worried we were?" Kimberley begins, her tone never soft nor sweet.

"Well, I, I suppose—"

"You suppose what?" The blonde furrows her eyebrows.

"I suppose you were?"

Kimberley releases a long, agitated sigh.

"What?" Madison asks, frowning.

"You're grounded." She begins, "Don't cut me off or I will extend it—"

"But—"

"God damn it. Do you ever listen?!" The Mother snaps, "You're grounded. There will be chores and the only time you will be going out is with me and your Mam."

"I wasn't even gone for two hours—"

"Madison Tweedy-Walsh so help me god I will tan your damn backside if you talk back one more time!"

Madison rolls her eyes, "Are you done?" She stands to her feet.

"Keep up with that attitude and you'll regret it."

"Whatever." She walks out of the office, leaving Kimberley flabbergasted.

"ARGH!" Shouts the blonde.

Cheryl presses the ice pack gently to her face, "What'd you do?" She asks Madison, getting the teen to completely ignore her as she runs up the stairs in a mood.

"Teenagers." The Geordie tuts, walking into the office. "You okay?"

"She's got an attitude that needs to be slapped out of her—"

"We are not slapping our child." Cheryl half smirks; sitting herself down onto the blondes lap. "Help us I'm injured and it might be critical." She pouts, handing the ice pack to her wife. "Gently!"

"Now I know where Madison gets it from." Kimberley giggles, kissing her wife's forehead and babying a demanding Cheryl.

"What'd you tell her?" Cheryl asks, snuggling against her wife's chest.

"That she's grounded."

"Why—"

"I can't tell if you're actually being serious." Kimberley scoffs.

"Well... Yeah I guess she needs a grounding."

The blonde tuts, "She's doing chores. I've decided I'll be the one schooling her. Emma will no longer be working for us—"

"This is only going to cause more drama, babe." Cheryl sighs, "Leave Emma to her teaching—"

"Madison will no longer be getting her way." Kimberley stands her ground, "Things are going to be different around here until she learns her lesson."
