|| Chapter 130 ||
Madison's POV
I couldn't control my behavior, it's almost as if I went into shutdown mode. I tried to enjoy my time, although I wasn't. Everyone was believing my smiles, laughs and giggles... even if they were far from real. I kept replaying moments of myself acting up, throwing fits and ruining the peace between Mum and Mam, I was ruining their happy bubble. I didn't realize it until now. I was baggage.
I really was.
"Favorite time of the day." Aunty Amy walks through, yawning and sits herself down on the large breakfast table we were all sharing.
"You're just a fat ass, Aymz." Uncle Adam winks, grabbing a piece of toast and throwing it at her.
"Watch it man!" She huffs, rolling her eyes and eating the thrown toast nonetheless.
I smile, eating my eggs and avocado peacefully.
"Hey Madz," Uncle Adam gets my attention, "You want to go boating today—"
I go to reply but Mam walks in and cuts me right off, "You want a death sentence boy?!"
"We're on holiday you seriously not going to let her go boating!?" He argues.
I remain silent.
"Boating accidents happen." She says end of, taking the empty seat beside me. "Don't want anything happening to me baby." Mam says, giving me a sweet kiss to the side of my head.
"Oh stop before I throw up." He jokingly makes gagging noises.
Mum gives him a smack on the back of the head, just as she comes strolling through.
"Hey!" He winces, rubbing the back of his head. "Stop with the bullying!"
"Stop with the talking." Mum shoots back, taking the seat beside me as well, both Mam and Mum sitting on either side of me at this point. I felt like I had to watch what I was doing, what I would say. I've never felt this way. I was always so collected, so loud and out of control.
"Watcha eatin'?" Mam asks, sitting back in her seat and wrapping an arm around me.
"Just avocado and, and eggs." I stutter, finishing the last of it.
I go to stand but Mum stops me, "Where you off to?"
"I wanted to go down to the beach."
"You're not going alone; we'll all go together after everyone's had their meal."
I didn't want to argue, I listened and sat down.
"Where is everyone anyways?" Mam asks, sipping her coffee.
"Both Mum and Joan went off to some spa thing and Sally said she'd join us later because the kids are giving her a hard time."
"So it's just us for the day?" Mum asks.
"Sure is. I was thinking we could go boating."
"Oo." Mum looks at me, "You wanna?"
"No boating will be allowed." Mam cuts in, "Why can't we just sit at the beach like normal people?"
"Because we are not normal people." Mum rolls her eyes, I giggle, genuinely for the first time.
"Don't go egging her on." Mam warns me, "She likes a crowed."
Mum laughs, chuckling into her cup of coffee. "God I love my wife."
Author's POV
Cheryl and Kimberley could sense a slight change in their daughter, she wasn't herself. They knew how sensitive their little girl was, so they didn't ask, nor did they poke fun. Instead they waited for an appropriate time to talk to her, when they were all alone without the eyes and ears of anyone else.
"Mum can I go on it?" Madison asks, pleading eyes.
"Did you forget what happened last time?" Kimberley replies, trying to keep her words to a minimal, not wanting Cheryl to know what exactly they were talking about.
"It's not like it's going to top over..." Madison argues.
Cheryl cuts in, "It's not safe." She says end of, "Just stay here with us," She pats the space next to her.
"Cheryl, we're on holiday, let her do what she wants—"
"I don't want something to happen, Adams driving the bloody thing—"
"He's a safe driver—"
Cheryl scoffs, "Like hell he is."
Kimberley goes to argue further, but Madison stops them both.
"I'll just stay. Youse don't need to fight about it." She takes a seat on an empty sun lounger.
"We weren't fighting sweets." Cheryl reassures her.
"It's okay. It doesn't look fun anyways." She fakes a smile, and settles herself into the lounger.
Cheryl and Kimberley share a look.
Adam shouts from a far "COME ON MADISON!" He beckons her over, "WE'RE NOT LEAVING WITHOUT YOU!"
The Teen shakes her head in reply, giving them a wave and letting them know she will not be joining.
Adam doesn't take no for answer, walking over to the Teen. "Come on." He takes her hand and pulls her to her feet.
"Adam, she doesn't want to go." Cheryl too stands, taking hold of her daughter's other hand.
"Oh don't be such a Mum," He rolls his eyes, "She's a Teenager. Let her do what she wants, she's on fcuking holiday for crying out loud."
"Adam!" Kimberley grits, "Don't talk to my wife like that—"
"She's pissin' on our parade!" He snaps at his sister, never releasing Madison's hand.
They argue in the middle of the beach, strangers' miles away, giving them the liberty to fight and argue without priers.
"Madison said she doesn't want to go—"
"Oh what a load of crap, come on." He tugs harder on the Teens hand, yanking her from her Mother's touch. "We are going." He drags her a few steps, only to be stopped by Cheryl.
"I said she doesn't want to go!" She gives Adam a shove to the back. "Fcuk off will ya!"
"You're lucky you're a girl or I swear I'd smack ya so fcuking hard right now!"
Kimberley clenches her fists and marches over to her brother, grabbing a hold of his arm and pushing him away from her wife and daughter, giving him a talk. "You listen here ya little fcuker." She grits, "Don't talk to my wife like that, I've told you repeatedly to respect your fcuking self—"
"She's ruining all the fun for Madison." He argues, "Let her do as she bloody pleases for crying out loud."
"Don't tell us how to raise our daughter."
"It's a fcukng boat ride Kimberley. I'm not taking her to the fcuking club."
Kimberley remains silent, agreeing with her brother. "Well she doesn't want her on there, I'm not going to fight with her over this—"
"Again, Kimberley, it's a boat ride." He rolls his eyes, "Fine. Let her have the say in everything, p*ssy." He scoffs and walks away.
"Shut up!" She shouts after he leaves, getting a laugh in return. She walks back over to her wife and daughter, both still standing in the same spot. "Do you really want to go, Maddy?"
The Teen shrugs, keeping her focus on the distance.
"She doesn't." Cheryl answers for her, "Come on, let's go back—"
"Cheryl, I'm asking her, not you." Kimberley puts her foot down, surprising the Geordie. "Do you want to go on the boat with your Uncle and Aunty?"
Madison takes a minute, "It's okay. I don't want youse getting upset over it, it's just a boat. I've been on boats plenty of times."
Kimberley frowns, "We are not getting upset Madison, why do you keep saying that?"
"I'm just saying. I don't want youse getting upset with each other over me going on a boat."
"Go on the boat, babe." Kimberley tells her.
Madison looks at her Mam, almost afraid to move before Cheryl approved.
"Go." Kimberley gives her a push, watching her daughter hesitate before running off to her awaiting uncle and aunty.
"Why did you step on me word like that?"
"Because we are not ruining this holiday for her." Kimberley sighs, walking back over to the loungers.
"How is a boat ride ruining her bloody holiday? She was fine with not going on the jet ski—"
"I took her on the jet ski—"
"Why are you not listening to a word I say!" Cheryl snaps, remaining stood as her wife settles into the lounger.
"You're ruining all the fun." Kimberley sighs, putting her glasses on. "Can you just take the stick out of your arse for a single second and let our daughter have a good time?"
"She is having a good time – and there is no stick up me arse!" Cheryl gives her a wack to the arm and sits down beside her. "Why are you so mean to us?"
Kimberley laughs, "Shut up and give me a kiss will ya?"
The Geordie forces her smile back, "No." She huffs.
"Okay put us some tanning lotion on then." Kimberley flips to her stomach, waiting for her wife to do as she's told.
Cheryl eventually gives in, spreading her wife's back with tanning lotion. "You know," She releases her smirk, "You're hot when you tell us no."
Kimberley too smirks.
"I'm hot all the time, honey."
They share a giggle.
Cheryl rests besdie her wife, the sun lounger big enough for four.
"I think it's important that you give me a kiss." Kimberley pouts, both lying on their stomachs and facing each other with extensive smiles. They kiss softly, tongues sticking out, simply connecting them together in a playful manner.
"Your tongue always tasted like candy." Kimberley comments, sticking her tongue out for another lick.
"You're weird." Cheryl giggles, edging closer, thankful the umbrella over their heads was blocking them from the sun. They make out, deliciously as Kimberley would say. Nothing tasted sweeter than Cheryl's lips and tongue.
She was winning at life.
"Did I mention how sexy you look in your bikini?"
"No," Cheryl winks, "But let us hear it."
"Cheeky." Kimberley narrows her eyes, swiftly pulling her wife over her as she rolls onto her back. Kissing her again and again and again.
"I love when you kiss us," Cheryl pouts, sighing into another kiss. It was a sweet moment for the two, taking them back to their honeymoon.
The newlyweds arrived early morning, Cheryl has never looked so radiant in Kimberley's eyes and suddenly she was sure Bora Bora wouldn't look as beautiful without her wife by her side.
"Ah." Cheryl flops down on the plush bed, sighing in relief. "Finally. I felt like this trip took a lifetime to get here."
Kimberley giggles, setting their bags down. "Please, don't help." She sarcastically says, walking over to the mini bar and grabbing a bottle of champagne, popping it opened in celebration.
She fills them each a glass of chilled bubbly, "For you, Mrs. Tweedy-Walsh." She hands her the glass, sitting down beside her, both giggling girlishly as they clink their glasses together.
"I still can't believe we're married." Cheryl confesses, sipping her drink and giving her wife a kiss. "We. Are. Married." She emphasizes in between each kiss.
Kimberley chuckles, "You're mad."
"I'm in love."
"As am I."
"How do you know?" Cheryl smirks, cheekily.
"Because even sitting with you right now, in this beautiful paradise, all I want to do is stay in our hotel room and fcuk you for two whole weeks—"
"Kimberley!"
"What? It's your fault."
They giggle, kissing once more.
"That's not love, Kimberley." Cheryl tuts, "You married us for the sex?"
"Definitely." The blonde jokes, but soon turns serious. "I married you because even when I hated you, I still loved you. I love you because my soul has never felt so alive, and for the first time, in a long time, I can finally say that I am happy... and you are the reason for every smile, laugh... and this heart," She takes hold of Cheryl's hand, placing it over her heart. "This heart began to beat the moment I saw you."
Kimberley rests her head in her hand, holding the weight of her on her elbow. She takes in Cheryl, gazing at her as she basks in the afternoon sun. The breeze has never felt so perfect, warm kisses from the sun giving them both a glow.
"Quit staring at us." Cheryl mumbles, keeping her eyes closed.
"Why? I'm allowed."
Cheryl squints her eyes opened, the harsh sunlight making it hard to keep them opened.
"Your face looks hot right now." Kimberley jokes, mocking her wife's current expression.
"Stop being mean!" Cheryl huffs, turning to her stomach.
Kimberley bites her lower lip as her eyes trail down to Cheryl's perky behind. She lowers her head, placing a kiss to her wife's shoulder, hand sneakily making its way to her wife's arse.
Cheryl smiles, her face hidden away from Kimberley's eyes.
She always did love the way the blonde touched her, loved her and kissed her all at the same time. She's never felt all of that at once, happiness, excitement and love rushing through her veins, taking over her in a tsunami type way.
Kimberley's lips trail their way down to Cheryl's arse, kissing the flawless olive skin, peeking out of her cheeky bikini bottom.
"Kimba." Cheryl giggles, "Someone will see."
"And?"
Cheryl tuts, turning around.
"Oh? You'd rather me kiss there?" She goes in to kiss between her thighs, but Cheryl stops her.
"Kimba!" Cheryl howls in laughs as her wife climbs on top of her, playfully kissing her everywhere.
Madison along with her Uncle and Aunt return to shore, the ride was worth it. Even if her heart was a raging mess, the fear of falling over was all she could think of.
"We should do that again!" Adam proposes, walking beside his niece and draping an arm over her shoulder. "Your parents are animals." He nods at the couple, they all laugh at the sight of Kimberley tickling Cheryl.
"KIMBERLEY STOP!" Cheryl shouts, their voices becoming clearer as they get closer. The Geordie successfully pushes her wife off, catching the last of her breath. "Hey guys!" She sighs, fixing her hair and sitting up. "Did youse have a good time?" She asks, beckoning her daughter over.
Madison gladly sits beside her Mother, accepting a kiss to her head.
"Did she die?" Adam jokingly says, but based on Cheryl's expression he'd said the wrong thing. "What?" He puts his hands up, sitting on the opposite lounger.
"D*ck head." Amy smacks the back of his head.
He wasn't thinking about how sensitive that subject truly was, it was long ago when Cheryl and Kimberley's child had passed.
"How's about we go for a walk?" Kimberley suggests, standing to her feet. "Not you." She points at Adam, stopping him from following. "Youse go ahead." She tells her wife and daughter, waiting for them to be far enough for her to snap at her brother. "I've had enough of you." She grits, "How dare you say something like that knowing the sh*t we went through!?"
"Kimberley I—"
"Fcuk off." She snaps and walks away, catching up with her wife and daughter. She takes a few deep breaths as she finally makes it over to them, trying to control her anger from her brother. "Hey!" She breathes, pulling her daughter in for a quick hug and kiss.
"Let's walk over to the shore." Cheryl takes the lead, keeping her hand locked with Madison's.
The Teen was unsure why her parents had grown so clingy to her, she wondered if she did anything to cause this.
"It's so warm," Madison mentions, dipping her feet further into the water.
Cheryl and Kimberley share a look, smiling at one another.
"Hey Maddo," Kimberley speaks softly, "Is everything okay?"
Madison keeps her focus on the water, swirling her feet in a motion; creating beautiful, gentle ripples.
Kimberley ruins that gentle moment with a splash to her ripples, "'I'd like attention please."
Kimba. Cheryl mouths with serious eyes. "Sweets, I feel like – we feel like you haven't been yourself, and we're worried. Are you not enjoying this holiday?" Cheryl speaks softly, tapping her daughters chin.
"Mam I'm fine, promise—"
"Don't say promise if you don't mean it."
The Teen sighs, "I don't want youse getting upset—"
"Why do you keep saying that?" Kimberley questions, frown line on display.
"I just don't want to upset anyone." She looks at her Mam, those green eyes always did something to the Geordie, she instantly feels her heart swell, she can see the brokenness in her daughters gleaming eyes, dancing with the suns light.
"Maddy, sweets, just tell us what happened. How could we ever be upset with you? We've been through so much and we still love you more than ever. We could never be upset with you."
The Teen shrugs in reply.
"Babe." Cheryl tries again.
"Mam it's honestly nothing, can we please just let it go?"
"No we're not letting it go." Kimberley says end of. "Now tell us what's going on?"
The Teen takes a deep breath... and.. spills, "Uncle Adam said for me not to be baggage. That I'm practically baggage because I was wondering where youse were last night – he said for me not to ruin your happy bubble." Just as those words fell from her lips, Kimberley ran and bolted to her brother, who was currently laughing with her sister Amy.
She decks him straight to the ground, taking him completely by surprise.
Throwing punches anywhere her fists could land.
"WHAT THE FCUK KIMBERLEY?!" He snaps, pushing his sister off him and wiping the blood from his split lip.
"You get the fcuk back home!"
"What the fcuk did I do man!? You've been on my case since we got here!"
"You have no, fcuking right." Kimberley attempts to catch her breath. "You have no fcuking right telling my daughter that she's baggage—"
"What?!" He splutters, looking at Madison making her way over. "I didn't say you were baggage! I was kidding with you." He throws his hands into the air. "I didn't think she'd take it seriously. You've got to be kidding me."
"Maddy, could you go over there with your Mam. Please?"
The Teen nods and walks back with her Mam to shore.
"You can't joke with that kind of sh*t, Adam. She's been through a lot."
"How the hell am I supposed to know—"
"You're not supposed know." She sighs, "You don't tell a kid to not be baggage. What the hell is wrong with you man? Did Mum give birth to you from her arsehole!? You're such a fcuking ass these days."
Amy steps in, calmly. "He didn't mean it, Kimberley. She obviously took it the wrong way – Adam go apologize."
"What the hell am I apologizing for?!"
"I don't want you to do fcuk all. I'll talk to my daughter myself. If I ever know you said some stupid sh*t like this again, so help you god. I'm warning you." She grits and walks back over to her daughter and wife.
"She needs to calm down, it's not that deep." Adam scoffs.
"She'll kick your arse again. You've got some blood on your chin by the way." Amy chuckles.
Kimberley puts a smile on as she nears her daughter, "Don't be upset." She assures her, "Everything is fine, look I've kicked his arse, how's about we go celebrate with some ice cream?"
This gets a laugh from Madison.
She really did love her crazy Mum.
