"Welcome back Kristen, Patty and...friend." Emerson greeted smoothly, only faltering slightly as the three appeared in the living room.
"Hey Em. How long was that?" Kristen stood up and brushed herself off, walking over to Emerson.
"Eh, maybe twenty minutes." He shrugged, a soft surprised yelp escaping his lips as Kristen fell on him and hugged him. He looked at Patty with confused eyes as he softly returned the hug. Patty shrugged in response as Kristen stood back up.
"Did he get wake up?" Kristen asked softly as she started making her way over to the sleeping guy.

"No."
Kristen nodded and settled back in her old position of straddling his lap and hands on his chest. Remington's arms sleepily wrapped themselves around her again, and he sighed in his sleep. "Nice." She whispered, closing her eyes.
"So it's... nap time?" Rean asked, shoving his hands in his hoodie pocket.

"Looks like. Sorry, but who are you?" Emerson asked, leaning forward in his seat in interest. To Emerson, the guy was very familiar. In fact, he looked like Patty's twin, he just had brown hair, more melanin and pale blue eyes. "Rean. You're Emerson." The man in question noted. Emerson looked mildly shocked, but for his age he seemed the most mature one in the room.
"You look a lot like... Patty." Emerson said slowly.

Rean smirked. "Y'think?" He scanned Patty up and down, then looked back to Emerson with a shake of his head. "Nah I don't see it. Where's Sebastian?"
Emerson shrugged, resting his weight back into the couch cushion. "Somewhere, probably sleeping." He shrugged, pointing upstairs.
"Hmm. Well when they wake up, we need to talk." Rean said reluctantly. He looked over at Patty, who was falling asleep in his feet. It was mildly concerning how pale he looked, the whites of his eyes turning pink. "Pats, you okay?" Rean asked, stepping towards him with his hands out cautiously. Patty started to nod, but stoped and pressed his palm to his forehead. He opened his eyes wide, then squinted.
"I've been better." Patty responded.

"Pat, sit down." Kristen mumbled, patting the seat next to Remington sleepily. Patty smiles softly.
"I'm alright Beth, thanks."

"If you guys are going to continue to talk, then no one is going to sleep." Remington sighed, startling Kristen.
"Oh, I'm. I'm sorry Rem, I can shut up if you're still tired." She apologized fretfully as he opened his eyes. He smiled down at Kristen as she continued to spout apologies.
"Y'know, you're even prettier after I wake up." Remington cut her off. Kristen's mouth opened and closed, kind of like a fish. "Oh we got two smooth talkers now." She finally managed to get out. She shook her head, going to get off Remington but he just whines and held her tighter by her hips. "Aaaand now it looks like I'm stuck. Okay. Well, all were missing is Sebastian."

"Speak of the devil and he shall appear!" Sebastian declares as he rounds the corner. He has a towel around his neck, rubbing it on his wet hair. "What's up, and who's this?" He pointed to Rean, who rolled his eyes.
"This is Rean." Emerson introduced.
"Rean, the head guy Rean?" Sebastian asked Emerson. Rean's eye twitched at the obvious rebuffing.
"The one and only."  Rean hissed, getting Sebastians attention. "I've got some stuff to brief you guys on, then we can get to fixing the dimension and training."

"Then by all means." Remington opened the floor for him.
"Umm. I don't know where to start exactly." Rean took a second to get his thoughts in order, then continued. "I told Patty it wasn't a good idea, to spy on Cameron. He didn't listen, obviously, and I have to say not listening to the future seerer isn't exactly smart." Rean jabbed Patty in the ribs. "So we got separated. I don't know how, i don't know how we're still alive. I just know it was not Cameron who did this. She's not strong enough. She's just a little stronger than Sofia, but a whole lot more cunning." Rean pauses, and looks at Kristen.

"I think this separation only works if one depends on the others lifeforce."
The got Kristen's attention. "I'm sorry, what?"
"Rean is using Patty's energy to survive." Emerson summarized. "And he doesn't know who did this."
"Wha-what? Not to be rude, Rean, but why you. Why not Patty- why isn't Patty using your energy?" Kristen stuttered, Remington stoking her back methodically to ease her distress. It helped, marginally.
"Patty's the only one out of this pair that actually existed." Sebastian answered, gaining many shocked looks. Sebastian looked offended, "What? I listen." He huffed.

"So, neither of you two remember what you saw? While spying that is?" Kristen looked ready to cry, but Remington was working as a support pillow. He wiped under her eyes with his thumbs, and hugged her to his chest. He traced the outline of her shoulders as they listened to Rean's story.
"No. Sorry Bethie."
"Another thing-" Emerson asked, this time looking at Kristen for an answer. "Why does Patty and Rean call you Bethie and stuff?"
"My full name is Elizabeth Kristen Fresman." She answered openly. "But that doesn't leave this room." She threatens, nods of understanding coming from all sides of the room. "I'm not just saying that for vanity. I'm saying to for safety." Kristen tacked on.
"Yes ma'am." Sebastian saluted. "Is that all?"
"Pretty sure." Rean answered, standing up.

And with that, the room disbanded. Eventually, it was just Patty, Kristen and Remington left behind. Patty coughed lightly, and curled up on the couch. "I'm fine, Beth." He said strongly.
"But for how long?"
"As long as you need me to be." Patty shrugged. Kristen shook her head, her breathing clogging for two seconds, her eyes flooding. "That's not fair. It's not fair, this is bullshit!" She got off Remington and stormed out. Remington sat there for second.

"Go after her." Patty encouraged, eyes fluttering closed.
"You're not okay, are you." Remington said in response.
"Go. After her."

Remington stood up and looked at Patty, but let it go. He ran off after Kristen to see her laying on her side and staring at a wall, tears falling down her face. He sighed and sat next to her, putting her head in his lap and brushing hair out of her face. Her green eyes locked with his brown as he wiped tears off her cheeks.
"This has got to be the most unattractive double chin ever." Kristen coughed out a watery laugh, sniffling. Remington cracked a smile.
"Yeah, but that's not going to scare me off. I'm here for everything, double chin and all." He winked, tappping her nose. Kristen rolled her eyes, shoving his hands off her.

"Shut UP." She laughs with a smile as she sits up, moving her head off his lap. Remington whines, grabbing her waist as she starts to stand up. Kristen squeals, squirming away, making Remingtons eyes sparkle with a smug grin.
"Oh my god, are you ticklish?" He giggles.
"Oh hell no!" Kristen shouts, desperately trying to escape his grasp. Emerson walked in, and watches the struggle as Remington tries to pull Kristen back into his lap, digging his fingers into her sides which makes Kristen dissolve into laughter. Emerson smiles with second hand joy as he crosses his arms and leans against the cool wall.

"Emerson help!" Kristen laughs out when her eye lands on him, then yelling in shock when her efforts to get away results in Remington hooking his fingers in the waistline of her pants, pulling them and her down into his lap. "What the fuck?" Kristen yells, immediately dissolving into laughter as Remington attacks her sides with his hands. She pushes his hands off her and rolls out of lap. She goes to crawl away, but her low pants hindered her movements and irritated her. She pauses and yanks them up to their previous position, which gives Remington enough time to grab her again.

"Okay well, you guys seem to be having fun, I'll just be going." Emerson shouts over the yelling and laughing and cursing, walking off like Hermione in Potter Puppet Pals.

"NO!" Kristen shrieks, grabbing Remington's hands, squirming as he breaks her grasp and wraps his arms around her hips. "SHit!" Kristen yells as she looks down, seeing the distance between her and the floor. "You did NOT just pick me up!", she laughs whole grabbing Remington's shirt for balance. The vampire inspired man runs up the stairs, laughing the entire way while Kristen smacks his back with an open palm.

He runs to an open door, conveniently his own room, and throws Kristen into his bed. The covers fluff up around her, her face stuck in a seemingly permanent smile, laughing as Remington straddles her torso. He pinned her hands above her head with one hand, and places his other hand by the side of her head. "Well hi there." Kristen whispers, giggling.
"Hi there." Remington whispers back, his breath fanning across her face. "I just wanted to get you to smile." He answered the unspoken question with a toothy grin, his cheeks lightly dusted with pink. Kristen returned his smile, her own blush sprinkling on her cheeks. With that, Remington rolls off Kristen and lays next to her. "And now, to sleep. I only got, like, two hours because of you." He jokingly pokes Kristen's stomach, making her curl inward on herself with a breathy giggle.

"You're a good friend, Rem."
"You're a good friend, Rem." He mocks, his voice going up two octaves. "Shut up. You know I don't want to be a friend."
"We'll talk about that later. Just sleep Rem." Kristen snuggles up to Remingtons chest, still smiling.
