Natasha, Steve Clint and Nebula were going to Vormir to retrieve the soul stone.

They had all traveled back in time, through the quantum realm, and knew exactly where to take the stones from.

Thor went to the time they send the reality stone to knowhere. He instead really replaced it with a fake one. He also took the tessaract from Loki when they escaped from Hela's destruction. Rocket stole the original power stone from when they handed it to Xandar.

Bruce and Tony decided to find a way to keep vision alive with the information Bruce got from Shuri, and removed the mind stone from him before they activated him, replacing it with a fake.

Wong got the time stone from Strange by going back in time before Bruce crashed on their door.

The soul stone was left and only Nebula knew where it was. She had the idea of the sacrifice as well, not completely but she expected it.

"Greetings, Captain " Red skull appeared before them as they landed on Vormir.

"You? Red skull? Here? " Steve was shocked. He held Natasha's hand who gave him a shocked look.

"Ah! The righteous one in love with a murderous beast. Opposites yet equals, your soul needed healing, and his needed wounds" Red skull said.

"Where is the soul stone? " Nebula asked.

Red skull turned to guide them and they all followed.

The all stood at the end of the large cliff, confused. Natasha's hand in Steve's tightened.

"The soul stone demands a sacrifice, of the thing you love most, a soul for a soul" Red skull said.

"I knew it" Nebula said, "Thanos sacrificed my sister. He did not love us. He is cruel. This place doesn't recognize true love"

Steve closed his eyes and sighed, Natasha sensed his changing breaths.

"Let me go" Clint said, "I don't have anyone to live for anyways. If my sacrifice can help the universe, I would be glad".

"No! " Natasha yell, "Clint, what about your children? What about... And you cannot sacrifice yourself, you don't love yourself above all. "

"I wish I loved myself, and could die here. But I can't die until I see Thanos's blood on my hands" Nebula said.

Natasha turned to Steve, "Steve?" She took a deep breath and cupped his face in her hands, "Let me go" she said, "I know we both love our children more but they don't exist in this reality, so let me go. I have done many things wrong, I have killed so many innocents, I was a monster. Let me be a hero for once. Let my children have something to be proud on"

"No, Natasha. You are a hero. You are my hero and no.. You won't die, not here, not for this stone" Steve said.

"Try to understand, Steve. I never fit in this world. I carry a curse on myself. I lost my parents, I lost everyone I ever tried to love, and I took from people what they loved. I got my share of happiness thee past five years. I cannot have more, I don't deserve more. So, accept this and let me go. For once, my meaningless life would get a deserving end" she tried to reason

"Natasha!! " Steve cried, "How can you even? No.. Never.. This..You are not a monster. You are the love of my life, my wife, my children's mother. You are the strength of us avengers. You held us together. Your life has more meaning to it then any of us and.. " he sighed, "Don't you see? This has come full circle I.. You will sacrifice me" he said, "Our children would need you to be alive. I never fit, I should have died when he did" he pointed at red skull, "he arrived here and I was left back, it all makes sense, I needed to stay alive to die today"

"No! " Natasha slapped him across his cheek, "Don't you dare!! I cannot live if I lose you, my life is complete Steve, I can die now. Our children need you. The universe needs you. Our team needs its Captain " she cried, "The world needs good people like you, not murderers like me. I won't even be a good role model for my children, I might not even be able to look after them. Steve no, please.. Let me go"

Red skull laughed, "You people don't have in you to go through the pain of sacrifice. He does, he will, and I know he did. He was able to kill his beloved daughter for the greater good. You both cannot "

Steve pulled Natasha into his arms and placed a deep, emotional kiss on her lips and before she could react he pulled back.

"We can" Steve said, running towards the cliff, "and we will"

"No!! " Natasha yell, running behind him and before he jumped, she caught his hand and jumped with him.

"Natasha!! " Clint yell and watched as they both fell down the cliff, hand in hand.

"Natasha? What did you do? " Steve asked with tears in his eyes.

"I didn't want you to be alone" she said, before they hit the ground and blood splayed everywhere.
