Miles looked around wildly, his overgrown hair flopping into his eyes, obscuring his vision for a brief second. He flicked his bangs out of his eyes quickly and continued scanning the area, looking closely to try to see what had been following him. He had been lost in the jungle for days, having lost count of the exact number. He managed to survive on berries and rainwater but his stomach always ached with hunger. 

The thrashing started up again and along with it, Miles's heart. His head swung to where the noise seemed to be coming from and he saw a dark shape coming towards him through the thick foliage. He was about to run when he took in the shape. It looked human...
