Authors Say: Olivia L

Olivia's eyes kept threatening to close, her eyelids fluttered and swept continuously, but still Olivia kept fighting against sleep. She Begged with herself, pleading for her to wake up. She tried shaking her head side to side, she tried moving her eyes around rapidly, she tried pinching herself and rubbing her eyes and sitting straight up, but she always found herself drifting off again, seconds away from slumber, a sleep so nice and tempting.

She was scared to sleep - no, not scared, petrified. After Olivia Shews and Steffi's untimely deaths, she refused to let herself sleep. She was scared that if she fell into sleep, maybe her body would shut down, and she would wake up to a room of flames surrounding her, or maybe wake up with another chain strapped to her ankle, or maybe she'd wake up and she'd be stuck in the machines again, or maybe she'd wake up and she'd be the only one left, and she'd be doomed to wander the classrooms of this death ridden school until finally she'd be claimed by the same fate as everyone else. She couldn't help but think that she'd get stuck in a dream world reality that she cant escape, that she'd fall into something similar to a coma, somewhere that she could only run but never hide from her real life fears.

Little did she know, that from these traumatic experiences, she has developed a fun little thing called sleep paralysis. For those of you that don't know, sleep paralysis is a sleeping disorder where you wake up, but cant move, speak, and in extreme cases, you can't breathe for stretches of time up to 4 hours. It doesn't stop there of course, when you experience sleep paralysis, you see people standing in your room. Not people, nightmares. Nightmares inching closer and closer towards you, until they are right next to your bed, or wrapping their cold hands around your throat, or pointing a gun against your head; but you cant move, or scream for help, or do anything to stop it from happening.

This fear she's got of sleeping is well earned, because as she drifts to sleep she can feel her body stiffening, as her eyes flutter shut she can see shadowy figures holding knives at their throats, as she starts seeing blackness she can feel her lungs tightening and collapsing. As she falls asleep, she starts to wake again, but in such a morbid and terrible way.
