The well-dressed magician removed his hat and spun the magic wand in circles. The audience's eyes were fixed on the small burlesque stage, lit by colored lights. 

Drums drummed, cymbals beat, horns sounded, but nothing happened. 

"Where is she?" the magician asked himself. 

The mermaid heard the summons, but she couldn't answer because she was trapped in a glass jar. She knew it. Her master always forgot when he punished her like that. Bad luck to him.
