Austin P.O.V

I sat anxiously on thee steps of Emma's front porch, waiting for her to get home. After my call with Justin earlier today I could tell something was wrong with his mental state. After everything I'd done to try and keep Emma with me I knew she didn't love me the way she loved Cathy and no time would ever make her. Coming clean was the only thing I could do... 

As a car pulled into the driveway, my heart rate sped up and I gulped, standing from the porch steps and waiting for the girls to get out of the car. Melody and Cathy stayed put next to the car and Emma warily made her way toward me.  I nervously cleared my throat as she reached me, taking her hand and leading her away from the other two, so we could speak privately. 

"Before I say this, I want you to know that I really did like you and hope that you'll be able to forgive for this one day..." I started, looking away from her.

"Austin, whatever it is you say, you won't lose my friendship..." She whispered. 

I looked at her and took a deep breath to begin my story. It would probably be the hardest thing I've done in a long time, but well worth it. Suddenly shots rand out and I jumped into action, covering Emma's body with mine. Pain erupted in my abdomen and soon in my shoulder, as the world went black.

Emma's P.O.V

"Austin? Oh! My, Gosh! Austin, wake up!" I screamed, rolling over to see his eyes closed and his chest barely moving. 

I pulled off my jacket and tore it in half wrapping one half on his shoulder to start stopping the bleeding and the other on his abdomen, putting one hand down to put some pressure on it. I let out a shaky breath and in a panic, pulled my phone out of my jean pocket and called 911. I watched Austins eyes momentarily flicker open enough for him to scream, "Emma!"

In a flash I was on the ground beside Austin, darkness consuming me. Just before I was pulled under, a faint, "911 what's your emergency?" made its way to my ears. 

"Help..." I whispered, closing my eyes as a shadowy figure hovered over me.

The last thought on my mind was, please let Austin be okay...

Here's the chap!

Sorry it's super short, but I just wanted the shock and point to get across.

This book will be ending soon and I'm still not quick sure on how I want it to end. 

Well, I'm going to get working on the next chapter for you all!
