Chapter 4
Toast stopped, looking up slowly.
"You mean.." He cleared his throat. "What happened with Trudy?"
Ghost nodded.
"If you want to talk about it. You both seemed so happy together..." He trailed off, and Toast coughed awkwardly, looking down.
"We-well, I thought we were too, but when I got home she..." He trailed off, and Ghost moved to put his hand on Toast's shoulder, comforting him.
He cleared his throat, though his voice still cracked as he spoke. "I saw her kissing another man, while I was out at work. I came home to surprise her, and..."
Ghost wrapped an arm around Toast's shoulder comfortingly, and Toast buried his face in his hands, trying not to let himself cry.
Ghost patted his back, and Toast could no longer keep his cool, tears streaming down his cheeks.
"I just- I don't know what I did wrong!" He cried. "Was I not good to her? Did she just not love me as much as I loved her?"
"Sh, shh, it's okay." Ghost whispered, patting his back and putting his head on top of Toast's. "It's not your fault."
They sat that way for a while, Toast crying as Ghost comforted him, whispering soothing things every once in a while.
Eventually, Toast wiped away his tears, sitting up in his chair. Ghost's arm that was wrapped around him fell limp, and he moved away slowly.
"I'm sorry Ghost." Toast sighed, holding his head in his hands still. "It's just... I really loved her, and to see her like that, it- it broke my heart."
Ghost nodded, staying silent as he watched Toast worriedly.
After a few minutes, Toast looked up, cracking a smile. "Anyways, why don't we do something today, like we used to? Unless you're busy..."
"No, no." Ghost shook his head. "I don't have work today, so I guess we could do something."
He smiled at Toast, who smiled back at him.
"So, what'd you wanna do?" Ghost asked him, looking away with a blush on his face.
"I don't know..." Toast sighed, looking down.
"Why don't we just stay in and watch a movie or something? Just hang out." Ghost suggested, watching Toast worriedly.
"That sounds good." Toast smiled as him.
Ghost smiled back, sighing as Toast turned away.
It was hurting him to see Toast this way. He didn't like it.
Still, he put the smile back in his face for Toast, moving to set up the movie.
Hello again. I'm actually writing this on my laptop today (I usually just use my phone) , so I'm really sorry if there are any mistakes or anything. I can't type...
Anyways, I know this chapter was really short, but I think that the next chapter might skip ahead to a little while later...
Anyways, I really don't have anything else to say, so... I hope that you enjoy this part. Bye!-Bob
