"What.. What happened..?" Toast questioned, looking up at the very worried Ghost, who was holding him closely.

"Wh-when you jumped after Maxwell, he-he did something to you.. I had to run, I was trying to get to you, but it seemed like he was only interested in getting to me.. So I ran away. Once I lost him, I found my way back here.. I think he is the reason you had some kind of weird nightmare.." Ghost did his best to explain, stumbling through his words while holding Toast, biting back tears. Toast could tell that he was terrified. "I thought-thought you were gone.."

Toast thought for a second, while tightly holding Ghost back.

With the job these two had.. It was very likely one of them could be killed, at any moment. Toast had already gone through seeing Ghost hurt many times now, and he could not lose him. He decided that if there was ever a good time to tell Ghost of his feelings, it was now, in case he lost him forever.

So, that is exactly what he did.

Clutching tightly on to Ghost as he sat up, one hand holding the back of his head while the other wrapped around his back to pull him closer into his chest. Looking into his partner and love's eyes, Toast finally whispered out those three words that meant everything, explained all he needed to say.

"I love you.." It was such a simple phrase, but as soon as he spoke it, Ghost's eyes went wide in surprised confusion, opening his mouth to speak.

"Toast, wha-" he tried to speak, but was cut off by a loud chuckle coming from down the hall. Both of them turned to look, fear filling both of their bodies and paralyzing them for a few moments, before Toast jumped to his feet, grabbing Ghost by the hand and quickly leading him out, Maxwell right behind them.

They barely made it out of the mansion and into their car, starting it up just as Maxwell opened the door to his mansion, standing in the doorway and watching them as they pulled away.

They were confused about why he wasn't chasing after them, but we're also very thankful as they got away and headed back home, safe and sound.

Whoops did I say I'd have this chapter done in a few minutes? I lied I meant a day

... So I got sick. Sorta, it's just this.. Weird thing I have going on that makes me super dizzy and feel awful. But when I planned on writing this chapter, it got so bad I couldn't keep my eyes open and look around without feeling like I was going to pass out or something.

To make it up, I swear, the next chapter will be out soon. Like I mentioned in the chapters before, chapters 15 and 16 are less action filled, but do involve some very cute things having to do with Toaster's confession here. ^-^

I'm excited for it, and I plan on starting on he next chapter as soon as I've uploaded this one.

Sooo, better get finished with writing here!
