Attention

I present to you-
Angsty drunk Nico

———

Will was stressed.

Like, really stressed.

And Nico understood that, Will has to deal with work, college, an internship where the doctor calls him at the absolute worst times, and he still has to balance his grades, which took a lot of studying, and to make things worse, exams were coming up, not to mention Nico and Will were running low on money and bills were a hassle so they both had to work extra hard and-

Yeah, the list goes on and Nico has tried to be supportive but it's hard because Will never gets to spend time with him anymore.

And that means that they haven't been doing what they would usually do, like late night snacks together, cuddling up on their bed and talking and giggling and kissing, and no more getting distracted when cooking with kisses or slow dancing to no music and accidentally burning the food.

And it was frustrating, because it seemed like Will really didn't want to spend time with him anymore anyway, not that that was fair judgement, but when Will did have free time, he spent it hanging out with his friends.

And when they technically did have time alone, Will was either studying or sleeping.

'Hey, are you going to be home for dinner?'

The text is sent to Will as Nico shuts the door to their apartment, and he isn't surprised when he gets no response.

Nico sighs and drops heavily onto the couch.

He really misss Will. He really just wants Will to hold him and tell him he loves him and to kiss him.

Because even if it's not as bad, Nico was stressed as well and it didn't really mix well with his depression and he just really wants Will.

Nico pouts, and he shifts so he's laying on the couch, bringing one of the pillows and hugging it to his chest.

It did seem like Will just didn't care anymore, because the first couple weeks where Nico and Will were in this type of schedule, Will would at least text him when he could, or left him a note on the counter for when he woke up, but now-

Nico's pout deepens and he hugs the pillow tighter.

Will doesn't care. He doesn't love you anymore. He doesn't want to be with you. You're such a burden. You're absolutely worthless to him-

Nico lets out a loud, frustrated groan, pushing the palms of his hands into his eyes so he won't cry.

Nico grabs his phone and sends Will another text.

'When are you going to be home?'

He stares at the text for at least fifteen minutes before giving up, burying his face in the pillow.

He feels his bottom lip quivering but quickly bites down on it. He takes a deep breath, closing his eyes, and gets up.

He walks over to the kitchen, grabbing one of the bottles of wine in one of the cabinets, and walks back over to the couch.

He sits down, and opens the bottle, taking a large gulp of the wine. He sighs, wiping his mouth as he brings his knees to his chest.

Deciding not to dwell on anything at the moment, he found the remote, and turned the television on, watching some random show.

———

Will doesn't expect to come home late at night to hear giggling, occasionally a hiccup, and what sounds like spongebob being played.

He drops his stuff to the floor, and goes to the main part of the apartment, seeing Nico watching spongebob (he hated that show) and two empty bottles of wine on the coffee table next to him, a third half empty one on his hands.

"Nico?" He asks, and he looks up at him, eyes wide and smiling brightly.

"Will!" He gets up, his knees wobbling, and he giggles as he falls back into the couch.

Will sighs, he really didn't want to deal with this right now.

Will sits down, taking the bottle from Nico's hand, making him pout. But then, he giggles, sitting up on his knees and taking Will's face in his hands, pressing a rough kiss to his lips.

Will pushes him back with an annoyed sigh, placing the bottle on the coffee table. When he looks back at Nico, he's pouting again.

"What?" Nico whined, "am I not allowed to love my boyfriend?"

"Not when he's annoyed and tired."

"Am I annoying you?" Will shrugs, running a hand through his hair, and Nico knows that that means yes in Will language. Nico huffs, sitting down normally as he crosses his arms, pouting, "you know, you don't have to be a jackass."

"Nico, you're drunk. Why don't you go to bed-"

"No," Nico whines, his arms falling to his sides like a little kid, "I was having such a great time before you decided to come ruin it." Will rolls his eyes.

"You're just mad because I'm not letting you drink. Can't you just go to bed, Nico? I'm tired and dealing with you right now is kind of a hassle," Nico sits up, glaring daggers at him, his heart clenching painfully at his words despite his drunken state.

Nico sighs, relaxing back into the couch. His glare softened, turning more into a sad looking expression.

"I'm sorry you hate me so much," Nico mumbles, and he hears Will groan.

"Oh gods, not this again, Nico," Nico's lips pout, his eyes watering and his eyes brows pulling together, "Nico, I don't hate you. I love you, and I know are schedules are different and we don't get to see each other much anymore-"

"We don't see each other at all," Nico cried, "and when you do have free time you spend it with your friends instead of me."

"Okay, sorry , but you know my entire world doesn't revolve around you, right? I'd like to hang out with my friends occasionally."

"Well I want to hang out with my boyfriend occasionally."

"Nico we share an apartment together! We literally sleep in the same bed!"

"I know but that doesn't- I don't-" he breaks down sobbing, crying harder as he hears another frustrated groan from Will.

"Could you please stop crying? I don't get why you're so upset."

"Because Will!" Nico all but shouts, "I get that there is a lot going on in your life right now, I get your busy but that doesn't mean you can completely ignore me! I need you Will, I'm stressed out, too and I need my boyfriend to be there for me."

"You can't just rely on another person like that, Nico. It puts a lot of unwanted pressure on them, maybe if you were less dependent I could help you," he says angrily, and Nico clamps his mouth shut. He puts his head back, resting it on the couch and closes his eyes.

"And you wonder why I think you hate me," he murmurs, and Will sighs.

"Sorry," he puts a hand on Nico's thigh comfortably, and Nico glares at he ceiling.

"I don't want your stupid apology. I want you to actually want to spend time with me, and love me, and not yell at me because you're stressed out. Because I've honestly been feeling like you don't care about me anymore, and before you do that stupid disappointed sigh and say 'again, Nico, really?' know it's because you haven't been spending any of you time with me. What am I supposed to think when we've gone weeks without spending actual quality time together, and when we both have time you spend it with your friends?  We haven't had an actual conversation in a little over a week. We haven't- we haven't done anything in a week except occasional pecks on the cheek and we barely see each other anymore. I understand that we're tight on money and everything, but honestly Will, I don't want to be in a relationship where my boyfriend ignores me and gets mad at me when I ask for a little of his attention," Nico ranted, sniffling and wiping at his eyes every now and then.

"Neeks," Will mumbled, his eyebrows furrowing at Nico's trembling lips.

"I love you, Will, and I want you to love me back," He whined, a small sob escaping his lips.

"Nico, babe, I love you, okay?" He put a hand to Nico's cheek, wiping a tear with his thumb, takes a deep breath, "I love you so much, Nico. I'm sorry I haven't been the nicest with you, and I'm sorry I haven't spent much time with you."

"You're just saying that to get me to stop crying," Nico mumbled. Will frowned, and slowly leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to Nico's lips.

"I love you, Nico," He said firmly, and Nico seemed to relax, leaning slightly into Will's touch.

"Really?" Nico sniffled, pouting as he looked into Will's eyes. Will smiled softly at him.

"Of course."

Will helps Nico to bed, helps him change into some pajamas, then lightly kisses his forehead. Before he goes to bed himself, he takes a quick shower, and calls his boss to inform him he won't be able to be there tomorrow or the day after, and he is already forming an argument if the hospital he is an intern at calls him in.

Then, he goes and scoots into bed beside Nico, who instantly curls up around him. Will smiles softly, and wraps his arms around Nico's waist kissing the top of his head.
