Mother was pissed when I got home. As soon as I walked through the door, a wave of guilt washed over me as I looked at her disappointed face. She then lectured me for about an hour about responsibilties and how worried she was, etc. Then she asked where I was, and then I flipped the house over while looking for a sheet of paper.

Next I had to explain why I was with Will Solace- a boy she barely knew- without telling her the truth. Luckily words don't have an expression.

"First I come home to your sister making out with that Zoë girl," she exclaimed, "and now you probably making out with the Will child!"

I put my palms out, meaning for her to wait until I could write: Zoë and Bianca are a 'thing' thing?!

Mother blushed and smiled at the ground. "Didn't mean to let that part slip."

How dare you tell your daughter's business so casually! I smiled as I started the playful speech I was writing to her. You should be ashamed of yourself! What if they were just tasting each other's chapstick? HAVE YOU EVER TRIED CHAPSTICK?! IT'S GOOD!

I handed the note to her, but not before adding one last sentence.

Now go to your room!

She smiled at the note and marched up the stairs and into her room with her head hung. "By the way, you need to clean your room after school!" Then mom's bedroom door shut.

Ignoring my chore to do, I ran up to Bianca's room. The door was opening a little. I walked in to find her laying on her bed with another person. I tried to be as quiet as possible so they wouldn't notice me in the doorway.

"You think she'll care?" Zoë whispered.

"Nah, she's normally pretty cool with rainbows of all sorts." I could practically hear Bianca winking at her new date-mate.

There was a small noise which I could only imagine as one girl kissing the other's nose.

I snuck out and away from the room as silently as I could. The time was around five thirty in the morning now.

School starts in an hour.
