Chapter Thirty-seven
The room was filled with hundreds upon hundreds of tiny slips of paper. They seemed to have some writing on them, but I didn't bother looking at them. I was just amazed about how much time this would have taken.
About a thousand sticky notes, all with two words of writing on them.
I plucked a sticky note off the wall next to me, reading it very slowly. I care, it read. I clutched the sticky note to my chest, feeling giddy, and dizzy, and all around amazing.
Out from behind a sticky-note-covered desk, came a blond haired, blue eyes, very hot young man. He was smiling like an idiot. I was smiling like an idiot. And we knew we were both each other's idiot.
So I walked over to him, carefully tucking the sticky note into my pocket. Once I got to him, my arms enveloped him into the squeeziest, tightest hug I could give.
Right, yeah, you were probably expecting a huge "kiss and happily ever after" scene. Well, Will said he wasn't ready, and I'll respect that.
Will wiggled out of the hug, putting his hands on my shoulders and looking me in the eyes.
His cheeks started to get very red, but it went well with his idiotic smile. "Can-... is it okay if-..." Will kept stumbling on his words, but finally stampered out:
"Can I kiss you?"
I didn't know how to respond. Was he ready? I knew sure as hell I was. But he's the one who asked.
So, I nodded.
He wrapped his arms around my stomach, and leaned in. His lips tasted like chicken this time, but that didn't matter. I enjoyed it none the less.
I put one arm on his back, the other on the back of his head, trying to deepen this kiss. Will went along with it.
Now, not to say I don't know every exact detail of what happened next, it's just that I didn't want to say how I ended up on a desk covered with sticky notes and Will trying to unbutton my shirt.
I put my hands up to stop him. That's enough from now. School, remember?
Will looked around, as if he suddenly remembered where we were. His face turned blood red. "Right. Sorry."
I looked around at the room full of sticky notes. Need help?
"Yeah, kind of," he said. "Gotta put them in the trash or something before anyone else sees."
Hold on, I signed as Will started to collect a few notes. If you think I'm not keeping all of these, then you're crazy.
Will shrugged, and started stacking the sticky notes into piles.
This was going to take a while...
