chapter ten: Scales of love
I had a mother, father and a brother,
I had a home, wealth, and other,
You only had a friend.
Only me.
You were an orphan since birth,
Penniless since childhood,
Homeless since adulthood,
Whilst I stood by and played Robin Hood.
No one ever understood you:
They threw you out when you were eighteen—
They said no one else would adopt you,
You were to old,
A sack of burden,
But I vowed I would be there.
I asked you what you wanted,
You cried "a home",
So I built you a tree house,
And hid you as refuge.
I built it high above,
So you could touch the sky,
So you can be a queen up high,
So you could be safe.
Then I asked you again,
"What do you want?"
"Nothing."
That's all you ever said...
I longed for a day,
When you'd tell me,
When you'd ask me,
For something,
But you never did.
...
Until today.
...
But you asked me for love,
Mine not being enough,
You asked for something,
That I thought was mine.
I wanted it too,
But you mean more to me,
To just let it be,
To let him be mine.
So what could I do?
Without shattering my friend,
Who I loved more,
Than myself.
And beyond the sky.
⛰
Love is said to be a complicated yet simple feeling, it said that it cannot be ignored. But can Bianca ignore it, at least for the Sophie? How long will she last? Forever?
