Adaline's POV
I sensed someone come and sit next to me as I stared out at the horizon. "Hey" said Emma's voice.
"Hey" I muttered not taking my eyes off the sea. "What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Mary Margaret said that you would be here. She was worried about you" she said and I shrugged. "She thought that I might be able to help you with whatever you doing" she said and I shook my head smiling sadly.
"No one can help me. I can't even help myself" I said tearing my eyes away from the water to look at her.
"I wonder..." she mused thinking something over.
"You wonder what?" I asked curious. Curiosity would be my downfall some day. I have to have an answer to everything and know as much as I can. Its not good sometimes.
"I wonder if Henry would be able to help" she said and I frowned.
"How could Henry help? With his book?" I asked and Emma shook her head.
"No, but he's good at finding things" she said and I nodded.
"Sounds like a plan. Lead the way" I said and stood up giving one last longing look at the sea. Emma and I got into her car and she drove us to the play park where Henry often spent time.
"Emma!" he said when he spotted us pulling up and ran over.
"Hey kid" she said happily and ruffled his hair. Although they hadn't know each other long it was clear to see that they love each other very much.
"Anna, what are you doing here?" Henry asked and I shrugged.
"Your mum thought that you could help me out" I said and Henry frowned looking at Emma.
"How?" he asked and Emma looked at me expectantly. I took Henry's hand and walked over to a bench and sat down. Henry and I sat cross legged facing each other. "What's wrong?" Henry said and I sucked in a sharp breath.
"Well, Mary Margret is worried that I'm spending a lot of time at the docks and the beach recently. But I like it there. It's hard to explain" I said and Henry nodded.
"Try" he said.
"Well... It's like I'm waiting for something, but I don't know what it is. But I always end up back at the docks staring at the horizon waiting" I explained and Henry frowned. "Can you help? I mean I don't mind it all but Mary Margaret does" I shrugged. Henry thought for a moment and Emma stood behind him, arms folded looking confused.
"I might be able to help" he said suddenly jumping up and pulling his backpack off his shoulders.
"How?" I asked, my curiosity kicking in now, and peered into his bag. He pulled out his thick book and I shook my head. "Henry, I don't see how the book will help"
"Trust me, it will" he said and opened it up.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I must have sat on the beach for an hour or so, thinking about what to do and not getting very far when I heard a twig snap behind me. I turned around and saw nothing in the jungle behind me. I squinted a little but nothing else happened. I turned back to the ocean, but blocking my view was a smug looking boy, his head cocked to one side and dressed entirely in green. I jumped up and stumbled backwards a little.
"Who are you?" I asked and he peered at me and frowned.
"How did you get here?" he asked and I shook my head.
"No, you answer my question first. Who are you?" I snapped.
"The name is Pan" he said with a small, sarcastic bow "Peter Pan. I gasped a little, I remembered Killian telling me about him.
"You" I breathed and he smirked.
"You've heard of me?" he asked and I nodded "And what do they say about me?" he asked.
"Nothing good..." I muttered. "Where am I?" I asked not wanting Pan to tell me even though I now knew where I was. Sadly.
"Why, your in Neverland of course" Pan said and I sunk to the sand. I wasn't dead. Something magical had happened and now I was here. And Killian wasn't coming for me. Not this time. The one place he said he would never revisit was Neverland.
