I landed with a heavy thump on the floor of a grassy meadow and my eyes flew open. I on my back stock still. Where was I? Was this where the dead go? I sat up ever so slowly and looked down at myself. I was wearing my white dress that I had been in when I was stabbed, there was a tare in the fabric around my stomach and parts where stained red, but as I looked at the skin the material covered, it was perfect. No cut, no blood, not even a scar. I frowned and ran a hand over the bare skin and it was as if I had never been hurt. I gasped when I realized that the one thing I treasured more than my love, my ring that was the only remaining connection I had to my mother, was gone. I missed it and it made me sad to see it gone, but there was little I could do now. I sighed and looked around the meadow I was in. It was beautiful, sunlight streamed through the trees and the grass shined with the little drops of dew on it. I heaved myself up and looked beyond the meadow. It was a dark, jungle like forest. I could stay here in my meadow or I could leave and enter the wilderness and hope to find out where I was.

"Killian?" I whispered in desperate hope that he was here as well. But I was a little glad that no reply came, because if this was where the dead ended up and he was here, that would mean he was dead and I would be able to bear that. That's why I threw myself in front of the sword the monster was pointing at him.

I shivered a little and wrapped my arms around my shoulders rubbing them to try and warm them up. But it was no good. I suppose the best thing would be to leave here and found out where I was. I ripped the bottom of my dress off so that I wouldn't trip over it when I walked and sighed before walking on.

As I walked I tried my best to remember the survival tips that Killian tried to teach me. I regretted now that when he was teaching me I wasn't paying much attention. I knew that the best thing to was to find water or the sea so that's what I planned to do.

Killian's POV

I cradled Adaline's blood soaked body in my arms not caring that I was getting covered in the sticky red liquid. "It's all a bit dramatic don't you think?" the sick voice behind me sang. But it wasn't like Adaline's beautiful melodic singing, it was snide and bitter. There was the sound of skin meeting skin as a member of the crew hit the monster that took my Adaline. I kissed Adaline's forehead softly and whispered "Goodbye" before resting her carefully on the deck of the ship. I wiped my eyes so that I didn't look weak, something only Adaline had seen. I stood up and turned to face the monster. "What should we call you?" I snapped at the monster. He opened his mouth to reply but I cut him off "No, I think I'll call you crocodile" I said eyeing his green scale like skin. He raised an eyebrow but said nothing. "You have magic yes?" I snapped and he nodded "So bring her back" I growled in my best commanding voice.

"I can't raise the dead, dearie. No magic can do that" he said and twirled a finger in the air.

"Then what did you mean 'We'd see each other again'?" I growled my patience running thin.

"What did you think I meant?" he retorted.

"BRING HER BACK!" I roared and the men around us jumped a little but they had seen me like this before. Well, shout this loud. Not like this, this...

"Captain, I can't bring back the dead, let alone the missing dead" he said and I frowned. He nodded to where I had set Adaline down and I looked over my shoulder.

I looked down at the spot where my love had been, and there was nothing there now. Just the puddle of blood she had coughed up and her beloved ring. I looked back over to The Crocodile "Where is she?" I snapped.

"How am I supposed to know Dearie, your the one that's meant to find her. Although I'm glad to see that my experiment worked" he chuckled and that did it. I lunged at him a growl ripping through my throat. But he was to quick and with one slice he cut my hand off with the sword he held and I fell to the floor writhing in pain. "You should know that I'm too good for that" he chuckled and in a puff of purple smoke he had gone.

Adaline's POV

I sat down at one of the bar stools that where set up across the counter in Grannie's small cafe."Hey Anna" Ruby said a grin on her face as she handed me my usual drink.

"Hey" I muttered and wrapped my hands around the warm mug of coffee. Ruby frowned at me and I shrugged.

"What's up?" she asked and I shook my head

"Nothing, I'm just thinking." I told her and she nodded.

"Well, if you ever want anything you know where I am" she said and I smiled gratefully as she walked off to serve another costumer. As I sipped my coffee and fixed my skirt, the door to the cafe opened, the little bell above it jingling a little. I didn't bother to turn a look at who it was, they didn't concern me. Well, that was until they walked over at sat down next to me and spoke up.

"Anna, how are you?" a smooth but hard voice said. I sighed and turned to face Mayor Mills.

"Same as ever, and yourself Regina?" I asked and she smiled slyly her red lips pulling apart to reveal pearl white teeth.

"Good. Henry was talking about you again to day" she stated and I rolled my eyes looking down into my coffee, I couldn't be asked to deal with her today.

"Really?" I mumbled.

"Yes, he said that you've been asking about his book. But I will tell you, not to put ideas into his head that are make believe" she ordered. I snickered into my drink and I knew she was raising an eyebrow in her condescending way. "Is something funny Miss Young?" she asked and I shook my head. I took out the money for my drink from my purse and left it on the counter top then hopped off my chair gracefully.

"Nothing at all, Henry has a vivid imagination. Tell him I said hey" I said before walking out into the colder autumn air.
