Chapter 18 | The fight
After the scare of almost being swept away by an unpredictable raging current, me, Lizzie and Patricia all walked out to the edge of the woods. We emerged at the end of Lizzie's garden and unlatched the gate and walked back into Lizzie's huge house.
I didn't want to stay in Lizzie's house, I didn't feel safe being under the same roof as a participant.
Thankfully, Patricia had yawned tiredly prompting her to check the time, it was six forty nine p.m., we had been at Lizzie's house for quite a long time and by obviously Patricia had assumed I had enough time to gather the proof I needed and decided we should go sooner rather than later.
"Wow who knew it was that late jeez," I exclaimed wanting an excuse to leave.
"I have no sense of time at all!" Lizzie joked back in response with a gentle smile.
"Think I might head out now if that's fine with you two?" I questioned directing at Lizzie and Patricia.
"Umm yeah I'll go too" Patricia responded.
"Oh alright well see you two soon...I guess" Lizzie responded disappointment clear in her voice.
The three of us then walked down stairs.
"Wait my dad hates me not eating! Can I get some left over lasagne?" I questioned.
"Yeah sure come hither into the kitchen and receive a um...a treat bag?" She responded in a happier tone. The three of us walked into the kitchen and Lizzie retrieved the left over lasagne from the fridge.
She grabbed a cheap plastic box from a cupboard and asked "how many portions do you want Lexi?"
"Um well first it's Alexis! Lex sounds like a cats name and my dad would probably hate me for not bringing him some so I guess two" I responded.
"Three it is then!" Lizzie responded in a cheerful tone.
"Bu-" I tried to protest but I was cut off.
"You know you under eat! And it's better if you don't argue we know what you're like." Patricia interjected reminding me of a very dark time in my life.
"Fine" I replied in a defeated tone as I wiped a small tear away from my eye.
Lizzie then proceeded to cut out three hefty pieces of lasagne that were then packed into the clear cheap plastic container.
Lizzie handed me the box with the lasagne and in response I said "thanks."
"You are welcome it would probably have just been thrown away in our house anyway! So I'll lock you two out then," Lizzie replied in a joking manner.
"Okay" Patricia replied as we all walked to the front door.
Lizzie unlocked the door and then me and Patricia gave Lizzie a quick hug each gave our simplistic 'goodbyes' and 'see you later' and both me and Patricia left Lizzie's house. We all waved back to each other before Lizzie locked the door while Patricia and I walked away.
"So did you find anything then?" Patricia asked breaking the silence.
"Yeah, yeah I did" I responded as the two of us continued to walk.
"So go on, what did you find?" Patricia replied curiously.
"Well Kara Kincaid had a photo that she could of only bought if she had got the second clue" I explained.
"Alright any other evidence?" Patricia replied intrigue clear in her voice.
"Yeah there is" I replied.
"Go on! Don't leave me hanging in suspense" Patricia replied impatiently.
"After I left Kara Kincaid's office I went to the toilet and I looked in my pocket to see the PTD beeping and you know who entered the house?" I replied purposefully withholding the name to annoy Patricia.
"Kara Kincaid" she responded plainly.
"Correct"
"So she's a participant then" Patricia responded calmly.
"Yeah" I replied solemnly.
"Could we hurt her?" Patricia replied as cold as an icicle.
"Wha- what are you saying!" I responded surprised.
"No. no I mean because she's a participant, if Kara Kincaid does attack us to gain a clue, could we. Should we defend ourselves?" She replied.
"It's Lizzie's mother were talking about! How could we consider that" I snapped back. As I calmed I continued understanding Patricia's point "what would we do if she attacked us?" I responded concern clear in my voice.
"That's a problem we'll deal with when it comes to it" Patricia responded trying to take attention away from the subject as we continued to walk down the side path.
"Okay" I responded lowering my head in shame.
"But for now there is a more immediate problem!" Patricia whispered.
"What?" I replied in a confused voice.
"Behind us, is a man in a black coat with black pants tucked into his boots, also he's wearing black gloves and what's most concerning...he's wearing a skull mask!" Patricia replied her tone growing more and more robotic...or emotionless.
"Piggy Piggy!" I snapped back quietly now remembering the hell I suffered at the hands of that monster, that psychopath that, dead man!
"Wh-" Patricia tried to say but I cut her off as I pivoted on my heels to face Piggy Piggy his mask looked sinister in under the dim light of the overhead street lamp.
Piggy Piggy walked casually like he had no fear, it reminded me of when Patricia would turn off her emotions but Piggy Piggy...
He was a figure that stirred up a flood of anger and hate inside myself. One emotion was the strongest and that was:
Revenge.
He had to pay!
I sprinted toward Piggy Piggy, as I ran I reached into my pocket and retrieved my taser, I stopped about five metres in front of Piggy Piggy and aimed the taser at his chest.
"Oh ha. Ha. Ha. Ha!" Piggy Piggy laughed slowly but maniacally.
"WHAT ARE YOU LAUGHING ABOUT!" I snapped at Piggy Piggy.
"It's just so funny to watch you little pig! To watch you squirm and fail against me" Piggy Piggy replied making my hate for him grow even more.
"SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP...or I'll make you shut up permanently!" I snapped back aiming my taser at his head ready to fire.
"HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ! Oh oh
little pig, little pig, when will you learn? To go against me, only death you'll earn! But let's find out what will occur! My guess you'll be leaving here...in a hearse! Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha!" He rhymed but I grew bored and I squeezed the trigger of the taser and a small hooked dagger looking object with a thin wire connecting to the gun shot toward Piggy Piggy.
The needle stuck into Piggy Piggy's chest and a small buzz rang out but Piggy Piggy was unfazed!
Piggy Piggy looked down at his chest and ripped the small hooked dagger from his chest and said "little pig little pig you forget how big are those tiny daggers! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!" Piggy Piggy's coat was too thick to be penetrated by the taser's needles.
I charged toward Piggy Piggy the taser held in my right hand, using all strength I stabbed the prongs on the end of the stun gun into Piggy Piggy's left shoulder making him jump back in pain.
Piggy Piggy gathered his composure quickly as he used his left hand to grab my right wrist, but in that moment using my left hand I reached into my pocket and retrieved my pocket knife.
I swung my knife at Piggy Piggy's mask making him flinch and let go of my wrist.
I slashed over and over again at Piggy Piggy he managed to dodge most of them but as I had him where I wanted him!
Patricia tackled me and Piggy Piggy but as we were about to hit the ground she caught me and dragged me up as we ran off leaving Piggy Piggy on the ground helpless, but not dead!
Patricia dragged me along the side path as we both ran.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR!" I snapped at Patricia.
"DON'T YOU DARE SNAP AT ME!" She shouted back.
"WHY! I HAD HIM EXACTLY WHERE I WANTED HIM HE COULD BE DEAD AND I COULD LIVE A NORMAL LIFE FREE FROM THE MEMORIES OF WHAT HE DID TO ME!" I snapped my voice cracking slightly.
"UNLESS! Unless you could live a normal life dead, then I just saved you!" Patricia retorted angrily.
"Wh-" I tried to reply but Patricia cut me off with good reason.
"While you were having you're fight with 'Piggy Piggy' he had his hand in his pocket and a gun ready to fire into your chest!" She responded in her emotionless voice.
"Bu-" I tried to speak but words barely croaked out from my mouth.
"Also unlike your gun it wasn't a stun gun or a taser" Patricia added, clarifying the severity of the situation.
"Oh" I responded unsure what to say.
"Now that we're far enough away you should carry on running home and lock the doors, Piggy Piggy won't follow tonight you should have scared him off for now. So goodbye!" Patricia said as she ran off toward her home and I ran toward my own home.
First I placed the box of lasagne that I had managed to salvage in my fridge, then I walked inside my home I bounded upstairs and into my room where I flopped onto my be and closed my eyes to think, and slowly I started to fall asleep.
Patricia had saved me but Piggy Piggy...
Piggy Piggy...
Was still breathing...
That could not be allowed!
He needed to pay!
But I didn't have to do it alone...
I had Patricia...
I had Shadow...
I wasn't alone!
