Chapter 15 | The familar faces

I awoke, drearily an objective clear in my mind!

Revenge on Piggy Piggy.
It was Friday morning at nine thirty five a.m. and in my head I had no plan for today or how I would get my revenge on Piggy Piggy.

Piggy Piggy.

It was an ugly name for an ugly mask! But the ugly thing behind that mask was horrible beyond belief, to think I could walk past anyone in the street and anyone could be Piggy Piggy's face but only he would know. I would be completely oblivious, he knew my face but I didn't know his.

He could be anyone!

No.

He was a man.
That narrowed my suspect list down to about half.

He owned a skull mask!
That type of mask was rare meaning not many people had that type of mask just lying around their home.

He could have access to the docks?
That meant he could have a job near the docks or the man could have connections to someone at the dock or could he have just bought a shipping container.

How could I find out who Piggy Piggy was?

There wasn't away to find Piggy Piggy except the PTD telling me when he or any other participant was close to me but that replied on pure chance. And I couldn't depend on luck alone. Piggy Piggy had to pay!

Eventually, I put the thought to the side and remembered the picture I saw online.

The picture was being sold at ten dollars and the picture was taken in nineteen seventy six but I remembered the picture had the town sign of White Pine Valley, but the town was only founded in nineteen eighty one meaning by all accounts the picture shouldn't exist.

Also I had to consider how the picture related with the first clue of '1978' both of these clue didn't make sense...yet. I somehow had to use these clue to find a button that can save my life.

I got on my computer and found the link to the picture for sale on an buying and selling website, when I found the picture someone had already bought the item!

The person who had bought the item I could see their name on the website and I recognised it! The name was Kara Kincaid, she was the mayor of Wood Pine Valley and the mother of my close friend Lizzie Kincaid!

Why would the mother of my best friend want an old photo of the town sign that shouldn't even exist!

I needed the photo.

So in response I decided to get my phone and message Patricia, In the message I typed 'Hi Patricia so I found a clue related to the PTD clue but Lizzie's mom has bought it already so can we meet up and go to Lizzie's house?'

I waited about ten minutes before Patricia replied to my message. The message read as follows 'How do you know Kara Kincaid has this photo?'

I replied with 'On the website I saw the photo it says that the item was bought from Kara Kincaid's account'

Patricia messaged back almost instantly 'Okay where should we meet and at what time?'

Almost instinctually I replied to Patricia's message 'We can meet at my house in thirty minutes. Is that okay?'

Patricia responded quickly 'Yeah that sounds ok see you soon.'

It was ten twenty four a.m. and I waited outside my house, I was wearing a red skirt that was slightly below knee level and and a white shirt. I carried my phone and the PTD along with the pocket knife.

It took Patricia around five minutes to arrive, Patricia wore: a blue short sleeved shirt, a pair of black jeans and a pair of flat black shoes.

Patricia spoke quickly, "so shall we set off now?"

"Yeah let's go" I responded calmly. Patricia then set off at a brisk pace with me close behind on her heels trying to match her speed, but struggling to do so.

Lizzie lived near to Patricia so we passed Patricia's house then carried on toward Lizzie's house.

We arrived at Lizzie's house at ten forty three a.m. the window curtains were open as usual like always at Lizzie's house. Lizzie's home could barely be called a house it was a first floor and a second floor with a spacious attic and a garage attached onto the side of the massive house.

The front door was two opening doors with two large windows on either side of the entrance, with three windows on the next floor each evenly spaced apart.

We knocked on the door three times using the old fashioned door knocker, within seconds Lizzie's father appeared he was a tall man with light brown hair, and a clean shaven face. Lizzie's father wore a grey suit with a smart black tie and black dress shoes.

I spoke confidently "hello mister Kincaid we were wondering if Lizzie was home?"

"Oh please Alexis you and Patricia are family friends call me Henry!" He replied in a stern but reasonable tone. "Also Lizzie is home she just upstairs" he continued in the same stern tone and he then shouted, "LIZZIE YOU HAVE VISITORS PLEASE COME DOWN HERE!"

As he shouted that command a pair of taps echoed from upstairs and trailed down the stairs and into view, it was Lizzie. Her dirty blonde hair tailing behind her accompanying her dark green eyes. She was wearing a pink summer dress that hung below her knees a accompanied by a pair of white shoes.

Her face brightened up and became a bright smile, she said "hi guys it's been so long!" As she ran up to me and Patricia and grappled her arms around us both simultaneously, we both hugged back.

"Well you girls are welcome to come in, Kara is at work and I have to go to a meeting but John is upstairs so you should be fine," Henry said as he walked out the door and walked to the BMW parked on the driveway.

"BYE DAD!" Lizzie shouted waving goodbye to her father as she beckoned me and Patricia in and closed the front door behind us.

"So let's go upstairs hopefully we can avoid John!" She said playfully (John was Lizzie's older more reclusive brother).

"Yeah let's go" I replied in an excited voice.

"Hurry up then!" Patricia responded already ascending the stairs toward Lizzie's room.

Lizzie's room was tidy...really tidy. The walls were white with one of the walls a purple flower design, Lizzie had a large bed and a big three panel window and a desk in the corner with a mirror and a few drawers, built into the wall was Lizzie's walk in closet!

Basically, Lizzie's parents were rich! So they could afford to buy both Lizzie and John what they wanted.

Lizzie and Patricia then sat on her bed and started to talk while I sat at Lizzie's desk chair.

"So what have you two been up to any new gossip?" Lizzie questioned playfully.

"No not really just boring old life!" Patricia retorted lying.

"Same honestly!" I interjected also lying knowing we both weren't able to talk about the killing game.

"Well you two have had boring lives! But I've done nothing as well!" Lizzie agreed.

Suddenly, the door burst open to reveal a tall figure in black and grey workout clothes that clung to his body, it was John. Sweat trickled down his forehead from his black hair line that was above his dark green eyes.

"What do you want John?" Lizzie questioned her brother.

"I've just been working out and I'm wondering what all the commotion is since mom and dad have gone out!" John retorted.

"Well what are you still doing in here then we've seen your sweaty body now leave!" Lizzie commanded pointing toward the door.

"Aww you're ashamed of your brother's sweaty body" he replied amusing himself as he walked over and grappled around Lizzie drenching her in his sweat!

Lizzie screeched as she struggled to get free of her brother's grasp.

Finally, John let go and wiped his forehead with the lower part of his workout shirt revealing his abdominal muscles defined by his work outs. What he did next was weird to me.

As he left the room he winked at me and closed the door. Lizzie turned to me and said in a serious voice "you cannot get together with my brother!"

"Really but he so hot!" I joked back at Lizzie's ridiculous statement. Me, Patricia and Lizzie all then shared a laugh before we all fell silent.

"No but seriously you can not date my brother!" Lizzie commanded.

"Fine. fine I'll resist the power of the abs!" I responded joyously.

"Alright can we stop talking about Lizzie's slightly hot older brother who might have a crush on Lexi!" Patricia interjected.

Immediately, I shot a look at Patricia not about the comment on me and John but calling me Lexi she knew I hated that name!

Patricia only called me that name when she wanted to get under my skin and really annoy me, it was good to see Patricia have legitimate feelings of playfulness rather than her emotionless state I had previously met, but did she really have to call me 'Lexi' it's and ugly name!

Like someone was to lazy to say their actual birth given name. But all the same it was nice to feel separated from the killing game, to feel normal.
