The Truth Unfolds...

The birds are chirping from the nature documentary I turned on the TV. The air was crisp because I closed the windows and turned up the AC even more.

For some reason I just wanted everything around me to be cold, it really reminded me back when I had powers and it just had this nostalgic effect I was really going for.

I sat down on my waterbed as it sloshed from side to side. I stretched out all the cracks from my bones. I breathe in deeply as I turned and looked back at a sleepy Johnny. He looks so content lying there shirtless with his hair all ruffled up.

I couldn't help but reach out and just dig my fingers into those soft locks. And as quick at a Viper his own hand shot out and grabbed my wrist.

"Ah, it's alive!" I screamed in mock panic.

Then I burst out laughing as he wrapped his other arm around my waist and pulls me into him then rolls over on the bed, tumbling off to the other side and pinning me under him.

I giggle and he laughs as we just bask in the morning glory. Kissing, hugging, biting, and all-around playing rough and dirty.

While in the middle of a fierce make-out sessions someone begins banging like a madman on the door. Can you guess who?

Well you don't even need to guess because the freaking idiot was there screaming through the door, of course I'm talking about that bastard Tony Stark.

Johnny and I rolled our eyes in either frustration or annoyance, then we giggled silently as we hatched a little prank.

"Victoria Howard!" Tony screamed, "Why did you change the password on the door!? Do not make me get the chainsaw!"

I hid behind the door as Johnny, in his boxers, opens it.

"Why hello there Anthony," Johnny said in a fake British accent. "What brings you here this fine morning?"

"What the bloody hell!?" Tony screams as he tumbled backwards and falls, with his head banging into Captain America's door.

I peek my head around the corner of the door to get a good look. Hiding the fact that I was still in my underwear, I pointed and laughed at Tony furiously as he tried to get up from the ground.

Cap opened his door with the feeble "Hello?" He saw Tony on the ground, cracked a smile, and helped him up.

Upon closer inspection of Caps appearance, he looked disheveled and very much annoyed. Like something was bugging the living daylight out of him, but he didn't know what to do to counter it.

"Everything okay Steve?" I asked you shortly.

"Hmm?" He looked up as if just registering my presence.

Steve's eyes momentarily darken as he looked at Johnny but ultimately trains his eyes back on me and answers my question.

"Been up all night having a sort of family meeting," he says cryptically.

Through the crack of his door I could just about make out an outline of Bridgette's head, and right next to her I could just about see the tip of Sarah's hair.

I instantly glare back up at Cap, but he just folds his arm. Stone-faced. And stared straight back at me.

"Family." He simply says to my unasked question.

Family. I thought. A very important element in everyone's life. Have I gone so long without it that I forgot the value of it, and how much I'd do to protect it? Bridget was a part of Steve's family, and he just found that out recently. So, did it make sense for him to go overboard with this protective bull crap or not?

Caps eyes dance over Johnny's appearance and my popped out ahead. "Well I can see you two were busy," He says disapprovingly.

"What!?" Johnny and I say in alarm.

"No no no no no," I wag my finger in Steve's face. "No such thing like that occurred." Then I give Steve a devilish look. "Get your mind out of the gutter" I said to him playfully with a grin.

Steve's face was still stone cold, and so was Tony's as he finally composed himself and stood up straight.

"I'm going to go get a shirt," I say tentatively, and leave the door.

As I roam around the floor for an acceptable shirt, because I was too lazy to actually open a bag or a drawer to get a new one, I could hear the conversations going on outside in low murmurs.

The conversation started to get heated when I heard Johnny step back from the door and slammed it behind him. I turned to look at him.

"What's wrong?" I asked innocently.

"Tony's being a dick," He says simply.

"What else is new?" I replied ironically. By now one would know that Tony was either a lovable nuisance or an unavoidable annoyance. "What did he say this time?" I asked.

"Oh nothing," Johnny shrugs. "Except for the fact that he said if we continue going at the rate we currently where I'd get you pregnant in a heartbeat."

"Red-and-gold-metal-man say what!?" I said in my sassiest voice over.

"Uhm hmm," Johnny nods in agreement. "It took everything I could not to blow my top and say or do something wrong again."

"Oh?" I say surprised. "What changed your mind?" I asked a little curious. I had to admit, Johnny wasn't the kind of person to not go overboard. It was kind of his trademark thing, and we all know that from countless chapters.

He looked at me cautiously while pulling on a pair of sweatpants.

"You." He says.

"Me what?" I say dumbfounded. He shakes his head and smiles at me.

"You." He repeats again.

Then walks over to me and grabbed me in a hug. "I mean this when I say this. I never ever want to hurt you again. Ever. Especially not on the day when...." he trailed off unable to finish his sentence.

Of course, we all knew what today was. We weren't idiots. Just because you weren't talking about it doesn't mean it's not there. It doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It doesn't mean it isn't a very real problem.

Johnny and I had something special planned for later today. But that still won't change the fact. That still won't change the inevitable.

"Oh, and Tony wants to take a look at your bracelet," Johnny says, pointing a thumb at the door.

I lift an eyebrow at him, "Why didn't you say that at the beginning?" I asked.

"I wanted to squeeze out as much time with you as possible," Johnny said. "The jerk is going to have you for the next two years, I plan to get as much of you as I can before then."

"Awwwwn," I made a cute noise as I snuggled up closer to Johnny, trying to relish the feel of him.

Then I had a moment of pause. Johnny and I had planned, last night, to do a sort of farewell song to each other during my performance slot. A sort of reminder/memory we'd create for ourselves while we were apart. I contemplated everything me and Johnny were about to do later in the day and thought if it was ultimately worth it.

"Are you sure?" I asked him. "Do you really want to do this? It could get you in real big trouble and it may not be worth it."

Johnny just grins down at me and pat's my head, "Don't you worry your pretty little big head. I know exactly what I plan to do."

He looks away from me with a thoughtful expression on his face, I couldn't pinpoint exactly what he was thinking about, but it must be deep. And we all know Johnny doesn't do that. Or did he? I never actually quite noticed...

"Well today isn't going to be a complete and utter disaster," I hear Tony grumble beside me. I was sitting on a bench to the far corner wall of the grand ball room while Tony knelt down in front of me, focused on his work.

He had my wrists in his hand and was fiddling about with the bracelet he had implanted on me. Despite us both being clearly dressed up, he refused to let things be. It was only slightly awkward when you put into account the mass of people who were either watching or gawked as they passed by.

"I just don't understand why this doesn't work?" Tony says with just a hint of frustration. "It's supposed to electrocute him," He pointed his screwdriver at Johnny who just stood 2 feet away from me with arms folded.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Johnny says impatiently, tapping his feet, "can you just finish what you're doing so I can get back to hanging out with my girlfriend?"

"Oh, she's your girlfriend now," Tony says, slowly getting up and standing in his face. "A few months ago you thought she was nothing but an annoying brat."

I swiftly look around for any sign of help. I spot Logan, "Help me!" I whispered yelled at him.

Logan puffed out the remainder of his cigar's smoke, took one look at the scene...then shook his head, "No fucking way," and walks off with one arm in his pocket.

Johnny just folds his arms and stares passively into Tony's face, "There's nothing you can say or do that'll rattle me up."

"Have you met me? We'll see about that," Tony grumbled. He turns back to me, unclasped a little hinge and removes the silver bracelet from my wrist.

"I'm free!" I cry, surprised, staring at my hand which was empty for the first time in days.

"Oh no," Tony says, "You're just getting an upgrade"

He brings out a monstrously huge red device and slaps it on my throat. As soon as it comes into contact around my neck, it's clamps down automatically, shrinking in depth and size to a barely visible line, and suddenly Johnny and Tony go flying backwards a couple of feet.

"IT WORKS!" Tony screams in joy as he recovers from his impact with a white stoned pillar.

I momentarily paused, in shocked from not only what happened but what was on me. I look down slowly and tentatively touch the device on my neck with the tips of my finger.

In anger and outrage I train murderous eyes on Tony, then growled at him, "DO I LOOK LIKE A FUCKING DOG TO YOU!?"

I'm race up to him, but again right before we make contact with both bounced several feet back from each other.

"It really really works!!!" Tony said excitedly as he fist pumps the air.

Johnny walks up to me cautiously but doesn't make any contact. "Let me see if I can try to absorb the battery heat of the electricity working in the machine," He reaches out to me but I stopped him.

"No! Don't!" I jerk away from him. "I don't want you to get hurt," I said next with a worried look on my face. "We'll just work around this..."

Johnny nodded at me, and backed away.

"Yes! I did it!" Tony yells in absolute joy and excitement. "I broke them apart! I did the impossible!!"

Then all of a sudden, he simmers down and becomes contemplative. He presses a hand to his chest, "Then why do I feel so empty inside?" he asked aloud, looking up at the ceiling as if to find an answer.

"Because you know you did a shitty thing?" Black Widow tells him out of the blue as she walks passed us.

Tony looks confused for a moment, then shakes his head and shrugs his shoulder, "Nah, I'm rich, I'll get over it." And walks off to the stage to perform his Host duties.

Black Widow shakes her head and looks over at Wasp who was standing next to her. "He's a lost cause, isn't he?" she says.

"No." Wasp says encouragingly as she shakes her head.

"He's a total lost cause," Hank Pym says next, materializing next to Wasp.

In that moment, all I could do was meekly wave to Hank. He spots my movement and does the same, then walks over to me.

"Hello Victoria. I haven't been able to have the pleasure to talk with you"

"Oh it's nothing, life has just been so hectic. My week's been unbelievably busy," I say as I moved closer to where he stood. Johnny on the other hand had spotted a soul surviving chocolate donut and was pursing it with all the wrath of Hades.

"Tell me about it," Hank rolls his eyes. "I just had to stop an evil madman who took over my company from selling knockoff versions of my suit to evil portions of the Army's Government."

I tilt my head at him, "Oh yeah, I saw that in the news!" the memory came back to me, "The part where the tank came out of the building was perfect! Almost looked like something out of a movie!"

Hank and I have a little laugh.

"You know, I never thought of myself as an Uncle," Hank says passively.

I instantly freeze up, uncle?!

I never had one of those, I only had my mom and dad, and after they died it was only me. They always told me they were only child's and it wasn't something I actually thought much of. But now that I had a moment to think, why hadn't my mom ever mentioned Hank?

Hank noticed the look on my face and says, "I know Julie lived a very unconventional life. But I hope you don't hold that against me, or her, for that matter."

"Uhmm...huh?" I say confused.

Hank must have miss took my expression, because he continues to talk the same way he had. All these over smart geniuses, they don't understand human emotions and feelings for nothing!

"I never knew Julie as the kind of woman who would settle down and have kids," Hank says next with a contemplative look on his face. "So, imagine my surprise when she not only got Hunter, but also had a wonderful baby girl!?" he chuckles to himself, "Especially after we all knew she couldn't conceive."

"Excuse me, what?!" I scream out in otter surprise.

"Vic! You're on!" Johnny ran over and said to me with a mouth full of donut, but also being very careful to avoid touching me.

Hey! Why didn't he get me a donut!? At least give me a piece!? – Stomach

"W-wait! But-" I stand in confusion looking from Hank to Johnny, not sure who to give my focus to and where to go. "I have to-"

"Come on we have to go!" Johnny picked up a silver dish plate and used it to push me across the hall.

The dress I had on had silver crystals hanging from it, and as Johnny dragged, well more like shoved, me across the hall they hit one another making silent beautiful noises. While right behind me Johnny's suit was a metallic silver matching mine in every way.

I am vaguely aware of Tony's voice in the distance as he presents me on stage, but all that was taking up my attention was the fact that my former friends were standing off to one side in a cluster.

Sarah, that backstabbing bitch, stood next to David in a sort of silent fury. Next to them was a patched-up Kevin with Bridget on his arm, wearing a red and yellow flowery dress, tending to his every need.

Steve was nowhere in sight.

As Johnny and I shuffled past them, momentarily all their eyes trained on me, the expression on each face different from the next. The only one that I saw that held compassion...was David's.

The lights of the hall dims as Johnny and I walk up the stage.

"Hey, what are you doing here!?" Tony says, racing across the stage to us and pointing at Johnny.

"Get lost, metal head." Johnny simply says, then uses a Kung Fu move and flips Tony into the crowd. The people on ground burst out laughing at the spectacle.

I stare at Johnny, "I'm impressed," I grin.

"I'm a man of many talents," he replies cockily.

The lights slowly go completely dark for a second as a hush descends over the crowd. Then I whisper in Johnny's ear, "What about the bracelet?" I said in reference to my neck clamp.

He thought for a moment, then I see a ring of fire dance around his iris in the dark as he gets an idea. "It'll work perfectly with the song," Johnny whispers back to me, then turns to face me.

"Just follow my lead, and..." he leans his head very so close to mine, stops right before we touch, "I know you'll do great." And then he lifts up the sleeve of his jacket and lightly kisses me on the lips through it.

"I love you" he whispers.

"I love you too," I whisper back.

I tried to kiss him back but he'd already pulled away. We separate and walk to either edges of the stage as the stage crew handed us both miniature mics that we secured behind our ears. And all this while I fight down a blast of nerves because I'd fleetingly looked into the crowd.

(*A/N Just play the damn song, trust me*)

As the song flows in the lights faintly dim back on, in a sunrise golden hue.

Oh damn, oh damn, oh damn

I'm so perplexed

With just one breath, I'm locked in

Johnny whispers out to the crowd.

Oh damn, oh damn, oh damn

I'm so perplexed

On that, it's almost shocking

He looked to be in a confused state, as if his words made no sense.

I know, I know you know you're scared

Your heart, your mind, your soul, your body

They won't, they won't, they won't be careful

But I guess that you don't know me

He turned to face me, gently trying to reach out a hand.

Cause if I want you, and I want you, babe

Ain't going backwards, won't ask for space

Cause space was just a word made up by someone who's afraid to get too...

He gingerly reached his hand out, setting it aflame and making to touching my hair. But it bounced him back

Close, ooh

Oh, so close, ooh

I want you close, ooh

Cause space was just a word made up by someone who's afraid to get close, ooh

He looked at him hand, surprised he wasn't bounced clear off his feet. He lit it on fire again and repeated his action.

Oh, so close, ooh

I want you close, ooh

Oh, I want you close, and close ain't close enough, no

It rejects him again and he looked beyond frustrated at not being able to just touch me.

I walk up close to him and reach up my own hands.

Oh man, oh man

I am not really known for ever being speechless

I chime out, with Johnny humming in the background.

But now, but now somehow

My words roll off my tongue right onto your lips, oh

I reach my fingertips forward and hover it over his lips.

I'm keeping cool while you keep smiling

Saying all the things I'm thinking

I give him a saucy grin and he returns the favour.

Oh man, oh man

I am like you so I want proof I'm what you're feeling

I let my hands fall and tentatively step back.

Cause if I want you, and I want you, babe

Ain't going backwards, won't ask for space

Cause space was just a word made up by someone who's afraid to get too...

I make to wrap my arms around him, but I'm thrown back.

My anger mount at the obstruction. And I make sure to convey that emotion through my voice, and Johnny joins in, matching me in tone and pitch in every way.

Close, ooh

Oh, so close, ooh

I want you close, ooh

Cause space was just a word made up by someone who's afraid to get close, ooh

We looked into each other's eyes and belted out, running towards the other person.

Oh, so close, ooh

I want you close, ooh

But we just get knocked back again.

Oh, I want you close, and close ain't close enough, no

We got up from the ground, the tortured look on our faces must've resonated with the crowd as they began to cause a commotion in outrage.

The song simmers done and Johnny walks slowly towards me.

Cause if I want you, and I want you, babe

He reaches up his up in flame covered hand one last time in hopes of...

Ain't going backwards, won't ask for space

But it shocked back.

We look at each other, sending a silent message. We both turn around and walk back to the every edges of the stage-

Cause space was just a word made up by someone who's afraid to get too... close

Then we whip around and bolt back towards each other.

"Oh no!"

"They're gonna crash!"

"AAAAAH!"

Close, ooh

Oh, so close, ooh

I want you close, ooh

I feel the small weight on my neck leave me as my hair whips behind me from my speed.

Cause space was just a word made up by someone who's afraid to get close, ooh

I launch myself into Johnny's arms and almost burst in tears when he holds me tight.

Oh, so close, ooh

I want you close, ooh

Oh, I want you close, and close ain't close enough, no

Oh, I want you close, and close ain't close enough, no

As the song ended everyone in the room screamed in profuse anger at Tony and demanding he leave me be. He must've hit the switch to remove the collar when he saw us practically running towards our deaths.

Johnny and I sat there on the floor, arm-in-arm, heavily breathing and unable to let go of each other.

"I'm not going," he finally breathed out.

"Huh?" I murmured in surprise, unable to process what he said.

"I am NOT going on the trip," Johnny repeated himself calmly.

"What?" I utter out in surprise, I lean back from his iron grip on me and look at him. "Can you do that?"

"I don't know," he says with a shrug. "And I don't care, because I just did." He finishes with a shaky laugh.

"Jonathan!" Susan called out to him from a little distance away. We turned to see she had covered her mouth with her hands, looking hugely disappointed at/in her brother. Reed and Ben looked less then pleased at the situation as well.

"You can't just abandon your family!" Susan says next, looking like she's holding back tears.

Johnny gets up from the floor and turns to his sister with a sad expression, "I'm sorry Susan, really, but Vick is everything to me. I can't leave her alone and go with you guys, I'm sorry."

"Why!?" Susan asked fiercely as she marched forward and stood straight in her brother's face.

Johnny glares down at her, "Because she needs me," he replies darkly.

"I need you!" Sue yells, then flings her hand back to show Reed and Ben, "We need you! Our mission will be a failure without you!" she cries.

Really? I thought, Johnny was so important to their mission that it would fail without him?

"I know that!" Johnny says harshly, turning away from Sue in abject frustration. "But I just...can't...leave her..." he turns his head back at me and gives me the most tortured look alive.

I hold back the tears that threatened to run rampant with my emotions. He should go, if he was vital to the mission I'd look like the evil witch for stopping him.

I look around, people were whispering and muttering. Oh no, what have I done? I am the evil witch!

For two days now I've managed to ruin Tony's beautiful event! Yesterday with the fight and now with this! And to top it off Johnny was fighting with his actual family over me.

Family...The word echoed out in my head as I look down at my hand. This is all happening to me...because I had no family. If I did...none of this would've happened.

I would've never met the Fantastic Four to even get separated by them, I'd have never met Kevin or Bridgette, which would've made my fight with Sara nonexistent. I thought a girl could live without family, or even a replacement one...but she can't.

I looked up at Hank, how many more family did I have floating around that I just wasn't aware of? I looked around the room, there could be hundreds...

We all knew she couldn't conceive...

What did Hank mean by that? My mother couldn't conceive? That's bullshit! There were medical records proving she was my mother! Granted I've never actually seen my birth certificate, but in this day and age who has? Am I right?

He must've meant the word 'conceive' as one of his over science-y words. Ya, like he could never picture his sister with another man in an intimate relationship to even conceive children.

That must be it. Cause if my mother couldn't conceive...then, how did she...?

After all, your parents were one of us...I instantly cringe up from the terrifying memory of the night I was almost raped. Did what Hank say tie in with that!?

Had my family really been...

Family...

"I WANNA GO NEXT!" I scream out of nowhere.

"Huh?" everyone gapes at me.

I stare pointedly at Tony, "I wanna go next." I thrust out my arm to him. "I want to find my own family."

Susan freezes, "Oh, Vick, I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean-"

I just shake my head at her, "This isn't about that"

Out of nowhere Reed instantly steps out, "I don't think that's-"

"BRILLIANT IDEA!" Tony yells, he rubs his hands together and runs on stage, "Finally we can settle this whole debacle and once and for all put this whole Vick case to rest and behind us"

I growl at him.

"And to also make sure you are put in the right hands, of course." Tony adds cautiously.

He stands close to center stage and rapidly types somethings on his handheld device. Then slowly a panel slides open on the floor and Tony's machine rose out of the ground with some stage smoke for special effects. The machine was so complex looking, I'm just going to say, it looked like this-

"Vick?" he called, looking at me as I meekly follow him up on stage, "Get ready to meet your new family..."

I sat there, fiddling around on the seat as Tony punched in numbers on keypads, cranked levers and did all sorts of doohickeys. When it was all said and done, Tony turn to me, as gleeful as a child who'd been given a $100 to run rampant in a candy store.

"Are you sure about this?" Johnny whispers in my ear.

"Not in the slightest" I whisper back.

"Well, whatever your decision, I'm 100% behind you" he says and squeezes my hand tight. Due to the overwhelming presence of the forcefield collar and bracelet I had on, it felt weird to be feeling Johnny's comfortably warm touch so freely.

"Now let me explain to you how this works," Tony begins.

"Do you have to?" I whine.

"Yes" he replies curtly. "Now you see here, this machine will first off scan your skin print, blood type, and break all that plus your DNA down to a molecular level. It then sends the result up to Stark Industries' satellite which scans the whole globe in point-five(.5) seconds and transmits back its finds. So place your arm here," he points to a red glowing slot where I slip my arm into.

"Best of all I've customized it to the point where it highlights regions where your ancestry is most present." Tony adds, then punches in a couple more codes. "I've also just made it so that it'll shine a bright red beacon light on the closest relative in the vicinity"

"Why would you do that?" Johnny asked, "The machine was only just supposed to read out the person's name."

Tony glanced in the direction of the crowd, "I wanna make Hank uncomfortable," he says devilishly.

"Booo!!" someone, probably Hank, yells.

"Yak, yak, yak, let's get on with this," I cut in impatiently.

I must admit, my anxiety was severely growing. Hank was the logical choice in the machine shining light down on. But I couldn't shake off the nagging feeling at the back of my head that I was missing something...or more like, I couldn't remember something.

And on top of that what if the light highlighted 30 people who were in attendance at this ball? That's 30 new family members!

My breathing starts to hitch. Oh God, what was I thinking?!

"Hey! Easy, easy..." Johnny knelt down next to my chair. "If you don't want to we can stop,"

"Oh, it's too late to for that" Tony says, then slams a button that made the device lock onto my arm.

I fight back a terrified shriek when next little dark red dots beam over every angle on my arm. The tiny sounds they made resembling a nuke siren to me.

I look around the hall to try for a distraction, but my eyes just landed on Sara. My whole body shivers at the realization that in times of panic like this, she would no longer be by my side. I close my eyes shut before I could register the look on her face.

And after two of the longest seconds in my life, Tony says, "And we're done."

The machine dies down, it's lights turning off as it let's go of my arm. I pull it out and absently rub it as my heart beats into overtime.

"Any second now we shall have our results," Tony informs me with a smile.

The whole damn ballroom was held in suspense as we waited for the results, the silence, as people held their breaths, eating away at my sanity.

Tap, tap, tap...

I turn to see Reed, standing below the stage and holding up something to me.

"Huh?"

"This..." his voice shook, "I believe this is the perfect time to give you this..."

Wait was...was Reed hold back tears!?

What in the ever-loving fuck could actually drive Reed Richards to tears!?

He jams an envelop in my hand and strides off quickly back into the crowd.

"Any second noooow!" Tony chants excitedly, staring deadpan at the machines screen.

I look down at the envelop Reed had given (more like forced on) me.

From Hunter and Juliet

I stop breathing.

I flip the back.

You are always Loved...

I instantly reach down to rip it open when-

"It's here! It's here!" Tony squeals, hopping from one foot to another in delightful childish girly glee.

I wanted to scream at him to wait, to give me a minute, to let me think. Everything was happening so fast and my head was threatening to explode from it all.

This was the first time in a long time I've ever remembered having a killer headache!

Tony practically plastered his face onto the machine's screen.

"Oh waw," he says cautiously.

"What!? What is it?" I was on the verge of throwing up.

"Looks like you got some ancestry in..." I, and the rest of the freaking crowd, leaned in closer, hanging on Tony's every word. "New Jersey"

"Oh what!? Whyyy!??" I cry.

"I knew that sass came from somewhere" Tony mumbled. I hear Johnny stifle a snicker but I give him a murderous glare that shut him up.

"Looks like you have genetic DNA going all the way back to...Italy!?"

"Yes, I knew I liked pasta for a reason!" I cheer in a fake and offensive Italian accent.

"Scotland...!"

"I do like me a rugged ass Scot"

"And middle eastern..." Tony tapped his machine, "This thing must be busted" he grumbles.

"Well, I am a Muslim" I inform him.

"Say what?" Johnny turns me around in the seat.

I shrug, "It's not something I brag about"

"But...but..." he stammers.

I pat his face, "Let it go, sweetheart. It's how the author wanted it"

I turn back to Tony, "There's no red beaming light coming down. So...does that mean I have no family close by?"

My heart sank at the thought, just my dumb luck...

"But that doesn't make any sense, Hank's right there" Tony pointed him out.

My palms begin to sweat, my body begins to violently shiver, and my headache developed into a full migraine.

What's happening to me? I begin to think in panic. My whole body is dead silent, it was as if my heart and brain were offline.

I slowly begin to taste blood in my mouth as I look down at the envelop.

You are always Loved...

What could it...

"Oh wait, the machines picked up a nearby relative" Tony informs us. I don't even look up.

"Probably just Hank?" Johnny says.

"No, no" Tony shakes his head, "The blood tie is much stronger...almost as if..." he leans in closer. "...it's a sibling?"

I fight back the onslaught of panic as I rip open the envelop.

A small package was neatly wrapped in a cloth, on top of it was two pieces of paper, one smaller than the other.

Six detrimenting words jump out at me.

Victoria, we are not your parents.

I lost the capability to breathe.

"What are you reading?" Johnny asked, peeping down my shoulder.

"What the hell?" Tony questioned.

I look up and see...a bright red light highlighting him. The tall beam of red light stretching passed the ceiling and into the heavens. I somberly look back down at the page.

You actually are Victoria Howard, it's just...Howard is your middle name.

The second paper was actually a document, it was...

"My birth certificate" I unknowingly mumbled out loud.

"Oh my God..." Johnny gasped alongside me. My hands tremble as I look up at him with fearful, glassy eyes.

"M-my full name is actually...Victoria...Howard...Stark...?"

My voice peaks up and vanishes on the last syllable. I tear my eyes away from Johnny's confused stare and look at Tony who had a ghastly look on his face.

My body now begins to shiver violently and I collapse from the chair as a faint white light explodes before my eyes.

"Vick!"

"Victoria!"

I don't know how but by the time a hand reaches to lift me up...it was a feminine one.

"Sara?" I look up and see her face held a worried expression. I see her mouth move rapidly, but no words come out. My ears were ringing.

Next David appears and shook me violently. "Yo-...owing! Y-...r...low...!?"

Huh? What!?

Then David lets go of me and jumps back, looking at his hands as if they were burning. I see Sara run over and pull him back, yelling something that I couldn't hear.

The white light continues to grow, but where is it coming from? It seemed to be coming from all around me.

Johnny? Where are you? I spoke but no words came out of me.

I look around and see my environment in utter chaos, people where running...from what?

I spot Johnny lying down on the ground a couple feet from me, was there an explosion?

I make to get up but another bright light hit me, right behind the eyes. And with that came the memories. The yellow clouds, me falling, dying, going to the past, my 8th birthday, Johnny leaving.

The memories came in such a fast torrent that my skull felt like it would crack! I grit my teeth and tried to keep steady as my mind downloaded everything, then-

But in case you ever decide to tell young sweet Victoria the truth or anything. You can always inform her that her brother is doing just fine. Tony is even on his way to MIT right now.

"I remember!" I violently scream. Then my eyes search the crowd, and found who I was looking for.

"I remember..." I growl at Reed.

He actually looked terrified, but not at my words, more like...at me!?

I look down at myself, but I'm gone.

Burnt off parts of my dress lay on the ground, and the rest evaporated into my...m-my...

I'm glowing.

"I'm white!!" I screech.

"Well of course you are" Deadpool pipes in. "Not Caucasian but more Middle Eastern"

"Not that white! White white!" I yell back at him.

My skin was gone and in its place was fuzzy white light emanating from me.

IT. IS. TIIIIME!

"God?" Wade wondered aloud as he looked at the ceiling.

The very earth shook beneath our feet, then the roof of the ball room gets ripped off. The light around me snuffs out and I land back down on the ground I didn't even know I was hovering from. My dress was relatively okay but for the bottom half of it that was burned off.

A freaking giant blue man with electric white hair looks down at us as the roof decimates before our eyes.

"THE FANTASTIC FOUR" his voice(s) boom out. "I CALL UPON YOU AGAIN FOR...THE CONTEST OF CHAMPIONS!"

He spreads his arm over us, the palm of his hand covering the whole stage and dancefloor.

"Reed!" I hear Susan cry.

Before I could look to her a white beam of light vaporizes her on the spot and shots upward. Reed bellows out in shock as he searched the place where she just stood.

"Ah!" Ben was next as he was sucked away right out of Alicia's arms.

Reed stretches out a hand to me in vein as he follows the others. The Avengers were scattered around and in too much state of confusion to react quick enough.

It was then that I turn to run to Johnny as he sits up rubbing his head. He looks up to me in confusion as I jump towards him, but I land flat on the wooden floor as he's beamed up.

I look around in shock, to ask for help, but everyone was to petrified to move.

"AND FINALLY..." I turn up to the sky to see the blue being look down right at me. "YOU" He speaks ominously.

And I am zapped away from my spot.

Author's Note

AHHH!! NO!!! WAIT!!!

Put the guns down, put the knives away! Yes you, you there, looking at me reading this, put that pitch fork and torch away.

I swear to you all this wasn't intentional. Let me explain (the explanation being my 3 months absence).

In my country once you finish college you are mandate to spend one year serving your country (through work). So they give you a government job for one year before you go off into the world (it sorta helps cause then you have one year working experience on your resume). And you also have to go to "camp" for 3 weeks (it's part of the whole one year). And all this started in November for me.

5 days before I left I had already gotten 2000+ words down and I was ready to finish everything and give you guys. But guess what? My laptop crashed, taking with it aaaaaalllll my information, data, and stories.

Now I had no way of fixing it time to go to camp, and by the time I got back it proved more difficult to fix my laptop. My hard drive is basically scrap metal (that's what they tell me but I still have faith it'll pull through!) and I've lost everything! (well I do have a backup hard drive but my cousin won't give it back to me!)

Lucky enough for me I was trying out this new thing of voice-to-text narration. Reading out my ideas as scripts and editing it out as a chapter later. So I did it for a bunch of my books using my phone's inbuilt voice-to-text feature, on the Wattpad app.

So thank God that much info wasn't lost. Imma right? And also I know what you're all probably thinking, and I thought it too, I could've always just edited the chapter on my phone in camp but I just didn't want to, cause I knew I could do better on my laptop...and I have!

Haven't I?

Over 7015 words! (Previously 7007...oh wait, now 7021 XD) Yes, 575 of those being this blasted author's note, but didn't I do good? This whole chapter is like a record for me (the last one being 6300 or so). I don't think I've ever written up to 7,000 words, granted I had to go around adding words, paragraphs and sentences here and there just to achieve that goal XD, BUT WE MADE IT GODDAMMIT!

Over 37 pages, waw. This whole chapter is like a huge apology for the long wait (even though it was basically not my fault). Thank you all so much for being patient, I did not receive even one complaint. That's surprising, I'll be honest with you.

And I know it's not because of y'all losing interest, but because you have faith in me. And that's the best.

Thank you all so much for being here, being with me, and being forever awesome.

And thanks for hitting 75.5K while I was gone :)

Thanks again so much, I hope you enjoy this chapter and I pray it wasn't too much or over whelming. Yes I could've broken it up and gotten 3 times more reads, but you guys have waited long enough, and think of this as a treat.

Sssh, don't tell Wattpad ;D

I know I don't even have to remind you all to vote and comment, and sharing isn't mandatory either.

I love you all, and have a great fucking day.
