*A few days later*
Bucky and I spent most of our time together the past few days. I was in the studio recording my second album while Bucky was on mission with Steve. "Okay from the top." The producer said before he started the music again. As I wanted to start singing I got a call from Steve. I looked confused as I signaled the producer to wait for a second. "Hey Steve, what's up?" I asked and I heard him shakily taking a breath. "Steve? What's going on? You're scaring me." I said and he cleared his throat. "Uhm... it's Bucky, you need to come to the hospital now." He said and I heard him saying something else in the distance but couldn't hear what exactly as I dropped my phone. Pepper ran into the recording booth. "Aurora? What's wrong?" She asked and I looked at her with tears in my eyes. "We have to go." I said and held on to her. "What where?" She asked and I looked at the door. "H-hospital." I whispered before running out. Without thinking I started running towards the hospital. "AURORA WAIT!" Pepper yelled after me. A few minutes later she drove next to me. I quickly got in and we drove to the hospital. I ran into the hospital and Steve pulled me into his arms. "W-w-what happened?" I asked as he pulled away. "We were on the mission but someone ambushed Bucky. They smacked him hard against the head with an iron bar before hitting him all over his torso. He got a few broken ribs, one of them has penetrated his left lung, damage to his skull and a lot of bruises." He said and I looked shocked at him. "I have to see him." I said but he shook his head. "Yes I do." I said and pushed him aside. "Can I please get to James Barnes' room." I said and the nurse looked at me. "Are you family?" She asked and I shrugged. "Kind of I suppose, I'm his girlfriend." I said and she shook her head with an empathic smile. "Only direct family is allowed to go in there." She said and I sighed. "He doesn't have any direct family. His family is standing right here." I said and pointed at me and the others. She looked at them and then back at me. "Let me consult with the doctor." She said and I raised an eyebrow. "Just let them come here." I said and she nodded as she called. I looked at the others and Steve came over before putting his hand on my shoulder. "The doctor will be here in a few." The nurse said and I nodded. Not long after the doctor arrives. "You're here to visit mr. Barnes?" He asked and I nodded. "Listen we are the only family he has, he has no direct family, please let us visit him." I said and the doctor nodded. "Only you for now." He said and I nodded. "Everybody else can wait outside of his room." He said and lead us to his room. "Thank you." I said before the doctor walked away and as I was about to walk in, Steve stopped me. "Don't do anything stupid." He said and I nodded. I walked into Bucky's room and sat beside his bed as Steve watched us. "Hey Sergeant.  I'm here, please wake up soon." I said softly and kissed his forehead softly. "I'm sorry, I have to." I said as soon as I noticed no one was looking, I used my healing power and gasped as I felt the pain go through my veins and felt the scars appear. Eventually Bucky's entire body was glowing and I dropped into the chair exhausted. I ran my finger over the side of my forehead and my other hand over my stomach. I coughed as Steve walked in. "Aurora, you did it, didn't you." He said and I shrugged. "Maybe." I said softly as the room started spinning and I fell forward onto the floor. "He had to be better." I whispered before passing out.

*A few hours later*
I woke up and looked around me. I noticed I was in the lab at the compound. "Shit." I said as I sat up and quickly stopped when everybody was staring at me from the other end of the room. "Well I'm very tired all of a sudden." I said and laid back down, pretending to go to sleep. "What the hell were you thinking?" Tony asked angrily. "Here we go." I said to myself and rolled my eyes before sitting up. "Oh I don't know, maybe my boyfriend didn't deserve the pain so I wanted to help him." I said as I unplugged all the machines from me. "You can't tell me, if you had this power and Pepper was hurt like that, you wouldn't take it away. Don't judge if you know you would do the same Tony." I said and tried to get up but I fell to the ground. Steve wanted to walk over but I stopped him. "Stop, I will go to my room by myself." I said and pulled myself up at the desk as everybody watched in silence. As soon as I was in the hallway I fell back down. Steve lifted me up in silence and carried me to my room. "I'll bring you something to drink and eat." He said softly before walking out of my room. I just laid there on my side, staring at the wall. Steve walked back in, he walked to the other side of my bed and sat down on it, rubbing my back as a tear rolled down the side of my eye. "It's okay honey. Tony was just worried. You're right, we can't judge, we all would have done the same thing." He said softly and I just stayed silent. "I'll get Bucky to come to you as soon as he's home." He said as he quietly got up and walked out of my room again. I sighed as I held Bucky's tags in my hand.
