I thought I was dead at first but then I started opening my eyes and I could hear my mom in the distance. "Thank the Valar." A bright light blinded me. "How long was I out?" my voice croaked, it must have been long since it feels like I haven't talked in years.

"A week, the spider bite your leg and it had poison but I have healed you." I could hear Lord Elrond say as I adjusted my eye sight. As I could see clearly I saw Lord Elrond and my mother. My mother looked as if she just married an Orc. Her eyes were red and there were tear stains on her face.

"What happen to you mother?" I asked as I sat up in my bed and Lord Elrond gave me a hand, "We'll talk about that later, how are you feeling?" she asked me. "I'm fine, I feel even better." I said, something wasn't right here.

"If you will excuse me, I will see to the others." Lord Elrond said as he left. my mother then held my hand and started crying again, "Mother, what is the matter? I am well and better." I said trying to cheer my mother up. "Your wedding." She whimpered. "What about it?" I asked, "Has been cancelled. Me and the King decided that this wedding was a bad idea, you and Legolas have been fighting and is obviously not meant for each other." she said through sobs.

At first my heart lightened and a smile spread on my face. Finally! What Legolas and I been planning and working on has finally paid off. I got out of bed and found that I was in a chemise only and change to go see Legolas and we would celebrate that we aren't getting married, I quickly changed into a simple sky blue dress.

Then I quickly ran to the archery field where Legolas is. As the Archery field was in sight he knew I was running to him. He thought I had gone mad but as I arrived I tackled him down to the ground and squealed "We aren't getting married!" Legolas gave a low laugh more like an awkward laugh and pulled both of us up. "Yeah, I know that." he said like he was not happy with the news. "Is something wrong?" I asked. "No, we are finally not getting married we could now move on with our lives." Legolas said as he left the archery field.

That's when it hit me, 'We aren't getting married!' I was happy but the thought of not marrying Legolas and seeing him marry another bothered me. That's when I suddenly realized right before the news I was actually happy to get to marry Legolas. My childhood friend, who knows me inside out. That night when we danced at our ball, I fell deeply in love with Legolas.

I just made the biggest mistake of my life! Even though Legolas and I would fight... fighting with him was a part of my life. I enjoyed fighting with him because in the end it's all jest and laughter's. Could he be feeling the same way?

A few days have passed neither me or Legolas was talking to each other, every time we would pass by each other we would try and give each other small smiles, but deep down inside I was hurting.

Months have passed and I was growing weak knowing me and Legolas aren't talking anymore or even smiling at each other. My heart ached to see his smile and hear his laughter.

Suddenly one day every warrior was summoned to the throne room, but sadly the guards won't let me in, so what I did was climbed the stairs and went to the abandoned balcony that over views the whole throne room, waiting for King Thranduil's announcement. I could see Legolas in front of all the warriors with a serious face, he looked different. He was more muscular and more handsome, it has been a while since I took a good look at him.

"My dear Warriors! I have heard word of Lord Elrond... The ring of Sauron has been found." he announced making everyone gasp, even me. "I am gonna send my best warriors to Rivendell for the Secret Council, a representative shall join the battle of Middle Earth and face the wrath of Mordor... And I already know who is gonna go.. none other than my son... Legolas."

"No." I whispered, knowing it is dangerous for him to even step foot out of this palace. My heart was full of dread. I couldn't let Legolas go... I have to let him know how I feel for him.

I ran as my life depended on it. At the stables I saw Legolas getting ready his horse. I called out "Legolas!" Good thing it was just me and him in the stables. He looked at me in surprise hearing my voice. But all I did was crash into his arms.

What made me smile was that he accepted the hug and wrapped his arms around my waist. But tears were streaming my face, "Please don't go Legolas." I whispered, he pulled away and smiled. "I must go, I am to protect the people, I will come back. I promise!" he said but I couldn't believe his words, It's Sauron we are talking about here.

I cupped his face and whispered "I wish I could believe you." he took my hands off his face and started walking away, and he whispered but enough for me to hear "We aren't married Anya, we can stop pretending that we care." my heart fell. The thought of Legolas walking out of my life without knowing I feel for him hurts me to my very own soul. I did not know how but I blurted out before he could leave the stables, "I love you Legolas." with more tears streaming down my face.

He stopped, then he turned around to look at me. I knew he didn't feel the same. I bowed my head, my body trembling from the sobs I'm trying to fight, but then I felt his hand tilt my chin so I could come eye to eye with him, "I'm sorry Leg--" before I could apologize for saying I love you, at last... I was kissing Legolas, my childhood friend, my husband suppose to be, my frenemy, my unknown love and my soul mate.

His lips was soft and warm just as I imagined. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he wrapped his around my waist. For what seemed like forever he pulled away and kept his eyes on me. I looked back and he whispered "I will come back to you Melamin, and I will marry you and I would not take no for an answer." I smiled and pecked his lips.

As I wanted this moment to last forever, he gave me one last sweet kiss and whispered "Naamarie Anya." And left not looking back at me because he was afraid that the look in my eyes would make him stay.

My love... my only love... Legolas. Please come back to me in one piece.
