End

This chapter kind of sucks, but I'm working on two new stories, so I wanted to wrap this one up.

If Brian had stayed in the room just seconds longer, he would've seen Cohen break down sobbing. Cohen's life-long friend, Abe, was dying, and his former best friend, who he had thought to be dead all these years, had returned just for them to become enemies.

Wolf, however, heard Cohen crying and ran off to get Brian.

"What?" Brian snapped a little impatiently, not wanting any company, as wolf joined him.

"Cohen is crying." Wolf stated.

"What?"

"Cohen is crying." Wolf repeated.

Brian sighed and went inside, past all the jeering and mocking hunters, and into the room. Cohen got up immediately and subtly wiped his eyes with his sleeve.

"What do you want?" Cohen growled, but Brian could now see the pain in his eyes. Brian enveloped him in a hug.

"I want you to understand what I'm doing," Brian whispered, "I want you to understand that we can still be friends."

"Yeah, right." Cohen muttered, but waited for Brian to continue.

The two discussed, argued, and debated all throughout the night. Wolf and Dragon sat at the entrance to the room and watched them argue back and forth.

Finally they stopped when Abe opened his eyes.

"Brian?" He asked weakly.

"Abe!" Brian practically yelled, running to his friend's side. "How are you feeling?"

"Okay." Abe replied. Then, with a quick glance around the room he noticed the wolf and dragon outside his room, looking in. "Great." He muttered, "We're captured. Don't try to heal me, they'll probably just kill me anyways.

"No they won't!" Brian reassured.

"You're just saying that because you don't want me to stop fighting to remain alive," Abe whispered painfully, "but how would you know?"

"I," Brian looked away, "I'm one of them."

An awkward silence fell across the room until Wolf came in.

"Sorry 'bout that shoulder," Wolf apologized then, turning to Brian, "C'mon, lets let him get some rest."

Wolf and Brian left Abe and Cohen stayed in the entrance of the room in case Abe needed anything.

"You know," Cohen said to Brian quietly, as to not wake Abe, "I kind of believe you now."

Brian perked up. "Really?" He asked so enthusiastically that Cohen laughed.

"Yeah." Cohen gripped Brian around the neck with his arm, pulling his head down and scruffing his hair.

"Stop that!" Brian laughed while he collected weird looks from pretty much everyone else in the cave.

After their little bit of playing, they chased each other around the cave and Brian felt like he was a five-year-old. Not that he minded, he was having fun and hanging out with Cohen, so he was happy.

That night a beautiful sunset filtered into the cave and Cohen watched it with Brian, Dragon, and Wolf.

"Who knows," Brian sighed, "maybe the others will believe us someday."

"Yeah," Cohen agreed, "someday."
