After chemo

Nurse Gonzalez:
"So were you bored on your own me lady."

Ardel:
"You have no idea but I did took a 20 minute nap so that was good but I do feel sick is that normal?"

Nurse Gonzalez:
"Yeah it is you will get chemo dream which are nightmares."

Ardel:
"That will be so fun."

Nurse Gonzalez:
"Oh trust me I know what you mean."

Ardel:
"Are you here to take this off me?"

Nurse Gonzalez:
"Yes and I am also here to put you on fluids because when people are sick they loss a lot of fluids so it is better for us doctors and nurses to put you on this when you guys are done with chemo so we do not have to do it the next morning."

Ardel:
"But is it better to do it the next morning so they will not vomit out all of the fluids?"

Nurse Gonzalez:
"That why we give you another bag of fluids because we know when you guys vomit the fluids."

Ardel:
"Do you mind not giving me the fluids in till the morning please."

Nurse Gonzalez:
"Sure if you want to."

Ardel:
"Thank you."

Nurse Gonzalez:
"Anytime now let take this needle out of you."

Ardel:
He wash his hands and put some gloves on he took off the whip and carefully took out the needle out of my hand gave me a cotton ball to hold while he get a band-aid he tell me to let go off the ball and give it to him so I did he put a band-aid where the needle was and then he put everything in the bin.

Nurse Gonzalez:
"Please drink some water after you vomit for me ok."

Ardel:
"Ok."

Ardel:
He got my chart and write down something said bye to me and then left me alone I am so bored what should I do now.

knock knock

Ardel:
"Come in."

Lady:
"Hello I am here to give you some food."

Ardel:
"Do I have to paid for my food?"

Lady:
"No you do not so what do you want to eat."

Ardel:
"What do you have? Can I please have quick vegetarian tacos."

Lady:
"Of course and for a drink?"

Ardel:
"Water please."

Lady:
"Here you go."

Ardel:
"Thank you."

Lady:
"Also I want to give you this. this is when we come and service you."

Meal times
Breakfast from 7:30am to 8:10am
Morning tea - hot or cold drink and a small snack or biscuits
Lunch from 12pm to 12:50pm
Afternoon tea - hot or cold drink and a small snack or biscuits
Dinner from 5:30pm to 6:10pm
Supper - hot or cold drink and a small snack or biscuits.

Nurse Gonzalez:
"Well I better be going but I will come back in an hour to check up on you and help doctor Burge put an iv port on your chest."

Ardel:
"When is he doing it if you know?"

Nurse Gonzalez:
"I do and it when he doesn't have any patients."

Ardel:
"Ok thank you also can I go to the garland please."

Nurse Gonzalez:
"I am sorry but you can't you need some sleep you look every tired."

Ardel:
"But I do not want to sleep if I know about the nightmares."

Nurse Gonzalez:
"I am sorry but you look so tried it is better to have some sleep."

Ardel:
"Ok I will sleep."

Nurse Gonzalez:
"Thank you I will come back in an hour ok."

Ardel:
"Ok."

Nurse Gonzalez:
"If you need me at all press the red button behind you."

Ardel:
"Can I press it for a nightmare?"

Nurse Gonzalez:
"You can if you want to."

Ardel:
"Thank you."

Nurse Gonzalez:
"Anytime now get some sleep."

Ardel:
"Ok." He tuck me in went to the door close the lights and then left.

An hour later

Doctor Burge:
I came in for Nurse Gonzalez to do her obs but when I look at her I saw she is asleep aww she is so cute so I did her obs and wrote it down on her chart and then went to leave her I will let her sleep for another hour and then I will have to wake her up.

45 minutes later

Ardel:
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH." I press the red button.

Nurse Gonzalez:
"What happened?"

Ardel:
"Chemo nightmare."

Nurse Gonzalez:
"I am sorry me lady."

Ardel:
"It is ok you can I can press it for anything I am sorry that I did you must been so busy and I press it for nothing."

Nurse Gonzalez:
"Hey it is ok sometimes you just need someone to be there for you when you have a nightmare and you like me more then doctor Burge."

Ardel:
"Can you blame me."

Nurse Gonzalez:
"Yes I can he is a very good man."

Ardel:
"A good man who doesn't listen to people even if they are right."

Nurse Gonzalez:
"That might be true but I think he did it for a reason."

Ardel:
"Do tell."

Nurse Gonzalez:
"He does it because he love you as his daughter."

Ardel:
"But I don't want to be his daughter."

Nurse Gonzalez:
"I know you do not that why he is letting you live here."

Ardel:
"So do you think I should live with him?"

Nurse Gonzalez:
"No that is not what I am telling you I am telling you go do whatever you think it is best for you before you die."

Ardel;
"So you believe me?"

Nurse Gonzalez:
"Yep and I am going to be here for you in till that happens."

Ardel:
"Thank you." I hug him and he hug me back.

Nurse Gonzalez:
"Anytime now do you need to vomit at all?"

Ardel:
"Nope I just feel sick."

Nurse Gonzalez:
"That is normal."

Ardel:
"Is it really?"

Nurse Gonzalez:
"Yes it is really."

Ardel:
"Is it always going to be like that after chemo."

Nurse Gonzalez:
"After chemo and radiation."

Ardel:
"Would I be more sick with the radiation?"
