13. Accusations and Assumptions
Felix's POV
After I had gotten caught with the little girl back in one of those apartments, I didn't remember much.
I think I was dreaming when I saw Asani Sam was the one that saved me and the little girl.
But I was most likely just half conscious, it could've been him, or one of my junior heroes.
When I came too, I was laying down in an ambulance, and it was pouring outside.
"Oh, Haengbok, you're finally awake. How're you feeling ?"
I jumped slightly, not expecting a paramedic to be right across from me.
"Oh- um, I'm fine. A little smoke is all, I didn't get hurt, in fact, someone got me out before I could."
The paramedic game a confirming hum.
"Asani Sam did, and he helped a few others, he seemed more like a hero than a villain."
The sweet paramedic explained, a small smile on their face.
"But..."
The paramedic, Deiji, the name I read off her tag, sad regrettably.
"But what ? What happened ?"
She let out a shaky sigh, a frown coming to her face.
"Everyone came at the wrong time, the people crowded at the yellow tape, the news reporters with their camera crews, and your... junior heroes."
My eyes widened at her words.
Why'd I have to pass out, when he needed me most ?
"What happened ?"
I asked again.
"Da-hye, the one in blue... he injured Asani Sam."
Anger was slowly growing inside of me.
"What did he do ?"
Her eyes widened, letting out an awkward cough she carried on.
"He pressed Asani Sam up against the building, but Asani actually helped put out the fire, the junior heroes... they weren't paying mind to what Asani Sam actually did, they don't know he helped you."
She explained, her voice lowering in volume as she went on.
"They didn't hear him out, I was tending to you and the young girl Asani Sam brought you down with, I couldn't lose either of you, the reporter actually told me about it, showed me the video, it nearly brought me to tears."
I listened intently, not liking the direction of how things were going as she explained.
"Where is he now ?"
I questioned lightly.
She only shrugged before responding to me.
"He flew off in tears, but the only reason you could tell he was crying was because of his tears, they were white."
I grew confused and concerned at her words.
"What do you mean ?"
I questioned, and after I did she pulled out her phone from her pocket, before pulling up the video along with the news report.
BREAKING NEWS
"Asani Sam, was pressed against the still steaming bricks by a junior hero, and as he struggled to get away, his hair, his eyes, and his tears turned white. Yes tears, can you believe it ?"
The question at the end made my blood boil, my anger increasing the longer I sat through the video.
I paused the video as I held Deiji's phone in my hands.
"If I get him back here, will you help him heal up his back ?"
Her eyes widened at my question, she seemed shocked.
"Uh- yeah, yeah, sure, I can do that."
I nodded in determination.
"You mustn't tell a soul about me and him getting along. Alright ?"
She nodded firmly.
"Now, I have a feeling it won't clear out to quickly, so can you get this ambulance in the direction he went, if you know where he went ?"
I questioned her hopefully and she nodded, a look of determination filling her eyes just as mine did.
"Yeah, I'll do that."
I nodded, a smile coming to my face.
"I'll help our little 'audience' clear out, so the police, firefighters, and other paramedics can do their jobs in piece, I just have to convince them I'm okay."
She nodded, and let me out of the ambulance before rushing to the front and starting up the engine.
"I'll be waiting here, then once everyone clears out I'll head off and you follow."
She planned, I nodded as and set off on clearing everyone out.
I flew over to the many people standing near the yellow rope.
"Hi everyone."
I greeted kindly, my anger well hidden.
They all started questioning me and telling me about how Sam did this and that, but it all went through one ear and out the other, knowing he wasn't the cause.
"Guys, guys, calm down, it's fine. You guys are stressing these poor workers out, so I'll need you guys to clear out, alright ?"
Words of understanding and agreement went around the crowd, and then the crowd dispersed, going about their day.
I heard running footsteps coming towards me and I turned around.
"Haengbok! You're okay!"
Da-hye excited said, a smile on his face.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
I told them, Ha-Joon, one of the other boys circled me to check for injuries and I waved him off.
"You guy, you're dismissed. As for Da-hye, you're off the team."
Da-hye's smile was wiped from his face, everyone got quiet, nobody spoke up to question my random decision.
"What ? Why ? Didn't you see what I did to Asani Sam ?"
I nodded, a scoff let my lips.
"Yeah, I did. Which is precisely why you are off the team. You harmed him to an extent I never have."
His eyes widened and he sputtered out apologies.
"I'm not the one you should be sorry to."
I stated, glaring at him.
A look of realization dawned on him and he looked at me like I was crazy soon after.
"Da-hye, don't take it personal, you aren't the one that got their back burned."
I quipped, walking away without another word.
I got out my phone as Deiji started driving and I flew up into the sky, following the ambulance below me.
I looked for Sam's contact and pressed call.
Oh yeah, did I mention it was still raining, no ? Okay.
"Please pick up, please pick up, please pick up."
I begged, looking at my phone as it rang.
My heart ached as the ringing stretched on longer, and it felt like it dropped down to the floor as it was answered, relief flooding my body.
"Oh thank you so much for answering-"
I was cut off by a sob and groans and hisses of pain.
"Where are you ?"
Hyunjin's POV
Haengbok asked, a concerned yet firm tone to his voice was heard.
"M' home."
A flash of pain went up my back as I tried to walk and a sqeak passed my lips as I tried to stay upright.
"I need you to send me your address. I have a paramedic friend willing to help."
He explained, light sobs came from my lips as I tried to hold my tears in.
"M' y-you told them ?"
I questioned lightly, my voice sounding awfully weak.
"Yeah, yeah, I did. But don't worry, she'll keep her word."
I fell to the ground as the emotions and the pain all got the best of me.
"SAM, SAM ?!"
I hung up the phone, not wanting him to hear me in pain any longer.
XXXX Levanter Drive
I sent my address, not letting regrets fill me at all as I tried getting up.
Felix's POV
"I'm gonna race ahead."
I explained and Deiji nodded, taking my phone for the address to Sam's house and I sped off after she handed it back, not wanting to waste any time in getting to Sam.
I got to his house, then I knocked at his door.
After a few minutes Deiji showed up, bringing a big box of things out with her, and without paying any mind to me and my panic she rang the doorbell.
A few minutes later, Sam opened up the door.
His cheeks were stained with dry tears, his hair messed up and dripping wet.
His suit ripped apart at the back almost reaching his shoulders.
"Oh bubbs.."
He crashed into my arms, and I felt tears falling onto my suit, making tears of my own want to start up, though his tears weren't any different from the rain but they felt a lot warmer.
"We've gotta get you checked up Asani, those burns aren't gonna heal themselves."
I voiced, pulling away from him so I could wave Deiji in the house.
"This is Deiji, she's here to help you, and she promises to keep our promise."
Deiji nodded, seriousness held in her eyes.
"I'm not one to break promises."
She stated sincerely.
Sam only nodded slightly.
"Okay."
His response was just above a whisper.
"Do you have anywhere to lay down so I can check your back ?"
Deiji asked, and Sam pointed to a room just ahead.
"Alright, Haengbok. Carry him for me."
She told me, making me look at the now flustered not so villainous, villain in my arms.
His response was precious.
"Wha- why ?"
His face was flushed a light red, his red nose, probably from rubbing at it, just made him look even more cute.
"You'll fall over at this point, you already fell earlier, I don't want it to happen again."
I wrapped my arms around his waist and as I explained, he stuffed his face into my neck, as I finished talking he pulled away from me, his face was a bright red, his wet hair dripping onto my hero suit.
I patted at his thigh lightly in warning and he jumped after I counted down and lifted him into my arms, my hands hooking beneath his thighs.
"I won't drop you, don't worry."
He let his head rest on my shoulder as he nodded.
Deiji went first than us to open the door, and as I walked behind her, just before she could open the door, I kissed the side of Sam's head.
"I promise."
I whispered into his ear, and I heard a stuttered breath come from his lips.

(A/N: Keeping this chapter almost like a cliffhanger. The next chapter isn't going to have anything explicit explain on Hyunjin's injury, so don't worry.)
(But anyways, hope you enjoy this chapter!)
