12. Hey Haengbokkie, Where'd You Go ?

(CW/TW: Fire, Slight depiction of violence. )

Hyunjin's POV

Me, Jeongin, Seungmin and Kkami got back to their apartment in record time.

We entered the apartment only to see Changbin eating more soup, Chan with an arm wrapped around Changbin's waist.

They seemed to be watching something, and that something was just what me and Jeongin raced here to see.

[BREAKING NEWS]

Haengbok and his four junior heroes in training all raced to the scene of a fire!

Just a few minutes ago at one of our park, they were spotted racing by to get to the buildings 5 blocks down, it was apparently the shortest way their officials say.

The fire is very much still alive, in fact it's said to be spreading as we speak.

There was said to be people in this building, and Haengbok and the others are racing to get them out!

As for the cause for the fire, there is no say. The detectives on the case can't be present on the scene until the fire is out and the people in the building are saved.

I stood gaping at the screen, looking at live video, the blazing building shown on the screen, seeming to be from a helicopter camera.

"I'm going to go for a walk to clear my head, this is to much to process."

I explained, and with light nods the others promised to watch over Kkami.

Light 'Be safe's were said as I got to the door and I responded with an 'I will' even if I knew I couldn't promise it, especially with what I'm about to do.

I walked to a secluded side of the apartment building, just off the edge of the park before transforming.

I raced into the sky, my lightning powers allowing me to fly across the sky swiftly.

I froze mid air, seeing the blazing building not to far off from where I was.

Without a single regret I jumped down.

The fire hadn't reached the roof and with that in mind I raced down the stair ways.

Then I heard unfamiliar voices calling out.

"HELP! HELP! WE'RE STUCK!"

I raced to the door of the apartment where I heard the screams.

"I'M HERE, ARE YOU GUYS AT THE DOOR ?!"

I shouted out, wanting them to hear me.

"YES, PLEASE HELP!"

I quickly shouted at them to step back as much as they could.

"I'M GONNA KICK THE DOOR DOWN, DON'T BE AFRAID!"

I explained in a loud voiced, starting to kick down the door after I got 'okay's as a response.

"YOU SAVE US- WAIT- ASANI SAM ?!"

They all froze at the door but I rushed them out, not having time to explain, and we raced up to the rooftop together.

"Yeah, yeah, it's me. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to cause harm, just trying to help."

I explained, and even though they seemed surprised they nodded, relieved sighs leaving their mouths.

"You guys alright ?"

I asked, looking them over for any injuries.

"No, we're fine, though we're a little frightened."

A girl explained, holding a girl who seemed to be a younger sibling of hers.

"Alright, I'll get you down from here and try to help out other in the building, is there anyone you may know who lives here and was here when this started ?"

I asked, telling them to link arms and grab onto me afterwards.

"Yeah! A few of our friends live a few floors down, the fires gonna reach their floor soon! Please see if they aren't trapped!"

I nodded, letting them down gently on the ground near some ambulances.

"Keep them safe."

I said to the paramedics, their faces holding a deep amount of shock.

I raced up to the sky and back into the building to find any people I could.

"IS ANYONE HERE ?!"

I heard multiple bangs from a door near me and I ripped the door off it's hinges in urgency.

A young boy fell into my arms as I pulled it open, along with three small kittens.

Who'd leave this poor kid alone, and with kittens at that?!

I looked him over for any injuries as he stared at me in surprise.

"Hey little guy, I'll get you four out of here, was there anyone with you ?"

He shook his head, even as his eyes stayed wide, in awe at me.

"Alright, I'll get you out of here in an instant, hold on tight."

I explained lightly, grabbing onto him and huddling the kitties into a safe spot in between us before flying out of the building swiftly.

Once we got down to the ground, the paramedics were rushing to my side.

"HIS PARENTS WEREN'T AROUND?!"

An angered paramedic asked, looking at the kid and the kittens in his arms.

A look of sorrow falling over his face as he pulled the kid into his arms.

"I'm going back now, where are Haengbok and the junior heroes?"

I asked, not wanting the hint of urgency in my voice to show.

"The junior heroes got back safe with a bunch of people, most of the lower floor escaped, the receptionist at the building said everyone else that we couldn't find was checked out. Haengbok hasn't gotten back yet, he was at the middle of the building, I hope he's okay."

I nodded at his words, flying up into the sky with a 'thank you'.

I shouted out for any people around to see if any were around but I hadn't heard anything.

The firefighters were making quick work of taking out the fire but some of the smoke would remain for a bit.

"HAENGBOK! ANYONE! HELLO!?"

I shouted out desperately, and then I raced down lower, to the floors still being put out.

"HAENGBOK WHERE ARE YOU ?!"

Tears filled my eyes as I was losing hope, not hearing anyone respond.

But then, as I raced farther down I heard a shout and something fall.

I raced to where I heard the scream, feeling hope well up in my chest again as I heard a deep voice along with a young girls voice.

"HAENGBOK! WHERE ARE YOU ?!"

I broke down the door, but I could barely see anything over the still burning fire and smoke clouding my vision.

Harsh coughs were heard from a room that seemed to be one of a young girls, and I quickly made my way over to the door, breaking it open and finding them both on the floor, nearly unconscious.

"HAENGBOK?!"

I shouted, pulling the little girl up into my arms and holding his body close to mine as I pulled them from the room and out of the door, which crumbled soon after I stepped out.

"I'll get you out of here safe, I promise."

Haengbok's eyes fluttered open slightly, his voice sounding strained as he called out to me.

"S- Sam ? I- s' tha- you ?"

He stuttered out, trying to open his eyes farther.

"Yeah, It's me."

I responded, flying through the stairwell at a fast speed, trying to get the two out of the building as fast as possible.

"I need you both to stay awake for me just a bit longer okay, I'll get you help soon."

As I said that I reached the top of the stairwell.

Then I raced down to the ground, paramedics raced towards me, pulling Haengbok and the little girl out of my arms.

"A-are you guys having trouble with the fire ?"

I was hesitant to ask the firefighters, but even with their surprise, the one who was the captain nodded.

"I feel stupid for not thinking of this earlier, but here."

Rumbling storm clouds rained down on the slightly burning building, gradually putting out the fire.

"Oh- thank you. Asani Sam."

It felt good to be thanked.

It felt good to feel like a hero, if only I wasn't a villain.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE ?!"

One of the junior heroes shouted, bringing the attention of the rest of the junior heroes onto me as well.

He was wearing a blue super suit, a mask covering his face.

It was clear he didn't know about my previous actions.

He walked up to me, shoving me away from the firefighters and paramedics.

"WAS IT YOU ?! DID YOU START THE FIRE ?!"

I scrambled back up into a sitting position, panicking.

"N-no, no, I-I didn't..."

I said lightly, my voice just above a whisper.

"YOU'RE LYING!, YOU HAVE TO BE!"

He shouted walking over to me before pulling me off the floor by the collar of my suit.

"WHY ARE YOU HERE ?! YOU'D HAVE TO HAVE STARTED THE FIRE IF YOU'RE STANDING HERE! THERE'S NO OTHER VILLAINS AROUND!"

The junior hero in the blue suit shouted.

He pressed me up against the wall of the now non-burning building, and I gasped, the heat from the fire still present in the bricks, my back feeling like it was the thing on fire, my suit not protected me from the heat at all, breaking apart as the heat proceeded to burn through it.

"AAAAGGHHHHH! S-STOP, P-PLEASE, PLEASE, I-IT- IT H-HURTS, I D-DIDN'T DO I-IT...I-I didn't do it."

My voice got weaker, the shouting I did to be let go making my throat feel like it was ripped apart.

My back was now in contact with the bricks, my suit no longer being able to bare the heat, falling apart to pieces behind me.

Tears of pain sprung to my eyes and soon rumbling clouds began to strike out lightning, rain falling down rapidly.

The junior hero's eyes widened, his grip on me loosened and I let out a strained gasp, sliding down the bring wall I was against.

I didn't know why he let go but I stayed huddled on the brick wall, shuffling away from it slightly as it made my already harmed skin sting worse.

"W-What's happening- Why's your hair white- your eyes- your tears are white too-"

He questioned, backing away fear written on his face.

My eyes were blurred with tears, tears that were practically glowing, flowing freely like the rain pouring down on the city.

I sobbed from the pain I was experiencing, a scream being ripped from my lips as the junior grabbed at my hair harshly, pulling it with all his strength.

"ANSWER ME!"

He demanded, glaring at me now that his fear had disappeared.

Another scream fell from my lips and he went flying back.

The paramedics, police and firefighters were to busy doing their jobs to notice anything happening.

Though the people watching from the yellow tape and the news cast that was recording came at a bad time.

I'm gonna get blamed for this.

When I didn't even do anything, I'm only ever in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Why can't there just be one right time ?

When will it be the right time...?

The other junior heroes rushed over to the one in the blue, before turning to me with menacing eyes.

"W-Why won't you be- believe me ?"

I questioned through a sob, letting my head fall into my hands.

The rain poured down even harder, making me jump and flinch every few seconds when the rain would touch my back from where I was on the ground.

I clumsily got onto my knees, then onto my feet, my back crying out for help as I stood, looking at the junior heroes as they stood ready to defend themselves.

I'm seconds away from keeling over and they still want to fight me ?

Tears were still pouring down my face and the thunder and lightning got harsher, if that was even possible.

I could probably flood the city if I keep going.

That thought only made me sob harder, I'm endangering everyone else just because I can't keep it together...

I just wanted to go home...

"P-Please... I- ...I really don't w-wanna fight."

I pleaded, just seconds away from giving up.

I looked at them, trying to make out their masked faces, my tears blurring my vision I could practically only see white.

"GET OUT OF HERE, WE DON'T WANT ANYMORE TROUBLE!"

One of them ordered, and I nodded, bringing up one of my hands to wipe my tears before flying off in the direction of my house.
