Chapter No. 39. Revelation.

Kali, the newest crew member, came with me to the agricultural deck wheel. We went to the covered robot charging station.

"It looks like all of the robots are working properly. When I came out of hibernation, I had to repair some of them."

"We had food synthesizers on the ship I was on," Kali said. "This seems primitive to me."

"It's what we're stuck with. It's not that bad, especially since the robots can make beer and wine."

Her left eyebrow shot up. "You're kidding!"

"Nope. They do a good job of it."

She smiled, and I knew what she was going to say. "Are you intimate with any of those women?"

"No, not yet."

She squinted. "Why?"

"They're virgins."

She laughed, bending over like she was in pain. "You're really kidding me now, aren't you?"

"Nope. They told me that they had to prove they were virgin because the idiots that planned our mission wanted pure virgins to be the mothers of a new race of humans when we found a habitable planet to colonize."

"That's ridiculous!"

"I agree. I told them that I would relieve their sexual tensions at night. All they had to do was come to my bunk. Not one of them has taken up my offer."

"Maybe they're lesbians," she said.

"I would have trouble believing that. First of all, if they were, NASA would have not sent them on a colonization mission. I also haven't detected any of that sort of activity."

"Maybe they do it at night," she suggested.

"If they are, they're not making any noise. Our bunks are close enough that I would hear any activity like that."

"They could come down here and do it."

"I would hear them climbing up to the axel tube. There isn't all that much that could go on here that wouldn't be noticed. There's no privacy."

"Except down here."

"They can watch what goes on down here," I replied.

She smiled. "Then they can hear what I'm about to say."

I looked at her with a confused expression.

"The bullshit about choosing young virgins to be the mothers of a new human civilization is completely bogus. The scuttlebutt going around then is that they chose them for their looks because they were included to satisfy the males in the crews."

"I find that hard to believe. The women on my crew have advanced degrees in science professions. If they just wanted bimbos, why go to that much trouble."

"It was all a façade. The higherups realized that hyperspace caused cessation of menstruation, but they kept it secret."

"Why?"

"It was a screwup from the start, and you know how government organizations deal with institutional screwups."

I shook my head affirmatively and smiled. "Yes, it's the problem with organizations trying to remain in existence."

She tilted her head. "Have you ever had your health checked since you launched?"

My eyes momentarily grew larger before I squinted. "No. There's no way to do that now."

"Yes there is. All NASA spaceships have an auto-doctor."

"If this one does, I have no idea where it's located."

"My guess is the engineering deck."

"Okay, let's go see if we can find it."

We went to the hidden ladder and climbed up to the entrance to the axel tube. After arriving on the hangar deck, we began to look around.

Kali found an indentation in one of the walls. She found an entrance tab on the wall and pressed her hand into it. A door slid open to reveal a computer-controlled doctor station. It was essentially an adjustable examination table with the auto-doctor arms and biosensors above it.

Kali used a virtual screen to start the unit up to show that it was ready.

"I had no idea that was here."

"They were included on all vessels that launched for extra stellar flight."

"What can it do?"

"Anything a doctor or surgeon can. It's also capable of doing a full physical."

"Interesting."

"I think you need one," she said.

I frowned. "Why?"

"Because I would like to know what your sexual capability is."

"I'm good."

She replied with a smirk. "I would prefer the doctor's unbiased opinion."

I looked at the unit and then at her. "What am I supposed to do?"

"Strip."

"Really?"

"Yes."

I removed my tee, shorts, skivies and shoes.

She pointed at the table. "Lie down on your back."

I climbed into the unit and reclined. Kali used the virtual keyboard to give the unit directions, after which the auto-doctor took over.

"Spread your legs to the indicated angle." It said with a deep throated male voice.

I did and it immediately clamped ankle restrains on me.

"initiate an erection," the doctor clinically ordered.

I was having trouble obeying this with Kali looking on, but with effort I did it. The doctor arm had various instruments on it, but it used a small flexible rod the size of a finger to begin stroking my male part, causing it to harden. This went on for quite some time before I ejaculated. The result of this action was collected in a volumetric tube and analyzed.

Kali didn't show any reaction to this performance. She simply gawked at it as if she were a disinterested technician.

After I was released from the auto-doctor, I dressed.

"You were slow to get it up, but when you did, it stayed up for a long time. I'm surprised that you would be able to do that. I'm also surprised by how large it got."

"What difference does it make?"

"It makes a big difference to me!" she said, grinning. "If I'm going to get banged, I want it to be worth the effort."

"How did the semen test go?" I asked, trying to avoid a response to her suggestive statement.

"It essentially shows that your sperm don't wiggle or swim at all. That in itself would preclude you making a woman pregnant."

"That essentially says that hyperspace destroys reproduction in both males and females."

"Right, and it's a permanent condition."

We climbed back up to the crew deck and were immediately accosted.

"Where did you two go?" Natale asked.

I suppressed a smirk. "We were down on the engineering deck. Thanks to Kali here we found that this ship has an auto-doctor."

"An auto-doctor?" Janet said, her eyes widening.

"Yes. Kali had me allow it to measure my sexual capability while she watched,"

That resulted in a synchronized, "What?"

"He's slow to rise but long to go," Kali said, with an appropriate grin.

They giggled.

"I would have loved to have seen that!" Sharon exclaimed.

"Actually, you can watch it," Kali revealed. "All activity on this vessel is recorded."

"Oh my God!" Bridget blurted. "We definitely have to see that!"

"Grab the popcorn!" Janet cried. "This will be the featured movie for this evening."

"I can't wait!" Natale sang.

I just threw up my arms and walked away.

They laughed.

Despite this obviously crazy diversion, what happened next changed us forever.
