Maddilyn's POV

"My feet hurt!"

"Oh my god, shut up Lyn"

"But it hurts. Why couldn't we take the bus?"

"Because Florence lost his bus pass."

"Damn it, Florence!"

"Its not my fault!"

"Its all your fault!"

We argued as we made our way to the carnival.

Phoebe was so done with me and Florence's shit, I kept complaining and arguing with Florence, and Florence tried to get me to calm down and shut up. Phoebe let us know we got to the carnival by slapping us across the face with the admittance tickets. I never thought paper hurt so much😩.

"What the hell was that for!?" That should be Florence's catch phrase.

"Both of you were arguing so much that you haven't realized the fact that we're at the carnival!"

Florence and I looked towards Phoebe. Then we looked behind her. Somehow, only when we realize we were at the carnival, our ears were bombarded with the screams of children. It was almost as if someone open a door slowly then suddenly slammed it open. I was hit with this new shot of adrenaline. It seems that Florence was hit with a shot of adrenaline too, as we both took off at the same time towards the park. We ran past the security guards, who Phoebe ran up to and show them the tickets before they chased us.

Florence was ahead of me. It seems that we had unknowingly started a race with each other. Or it could be my competitiveness kicking in. Either way, I'm gonna try to beat this "race" that I just convinced my mind that I'm in.

As I ran, the colors of the carnival booths blurred past me, and I remembered something. Florence was on the baseball team.

That meant he was fast and agile. I, on the other hand, am a couch potato. I have a decent figure and I'm pretty fit, but the only way I would ever beat Florence in a race was to break his legs... but I don't hate him enough to do that.

We ran around, seemingly looking for the same thing when Florence shot his head to the right... and then I saw it...
