Dawn woke up and looked out the window. It was sun rise. She stared at her scales as they slowly changed from dark blue to the color of the sky. After a while, her parents came up to her room.

"Good morning, dawn." StarCrusher said. "Come down to eat."

They sat there, eating lizards, fruit, and camels. There was a knock on the door. Dawn's head snapped up a second before her mother's.

"Guards." She said. "Hide, go." Her parents made a weak wall years ago that lead to a room  for her to hide in. There was a door inside he room and it blended into the walls outside. Her father, Heat started to seal her in. "Hide," her parents said at the same time. "Run after you hear the wing beats in the distance fade. Run and never come back!"

Her parents put the last stone in place and went to the table to 'eat'. There was a loud crack and the door burst open. She heard screaming and listened to her parents' last thoughts. Run and never come back. We love you.

She heard the wing beats in the distance. Her parents told her the guards would come to kill her because she was a hybrid. After there was no sound, Dawn curled up and fell asleep.

She woke up at sun set. Her scales faded from gold to yellow, blue, and pink just like a sun set. She opened the door and soared into the sky. She blended in so she looked invisible.

She flew and flew. Her scales shaded to a black and blue color. It was dark enough to walk so she could rest her wings. She looked up at the stars until she heard a loud scream. She whipped her head around to see a burning building. SandWing guards flew away in the distance. Then she heard a faint voice in her head. Help.
