(Hiccup P.O.V)

Everyone was silent, except for the heavy breathing as Gobber slowly checked our results. To say I was nervous was an understatement. My dad, the principle, continued to push me for a perfect result, such as himself. I mentally scoffed. I felt Astrid shift on my lap, she was shaking slightly. I leaned forward slightly and rested my chin on her shoulder.
"You okay?"
She hummed in response, but didn't stop shaking."Just, Tired."
I looked around the room, those who lost there fights were mostly still unconscious or had to be taken to the infirmary. The rest of the student who won were practically asleep, apart from those with uneven breaths and heaving chests.
"You not the only one". I murmured lowly. She didn't reply. I averted my eyes towards Jack, who had his eyes closed with his hands on his head."You did good Jack".
The corners of his mouth twitched into a small smile."Right back at ya Haddock".I rolled my eyes.
It was to quiet, I didn't like it. My eyes skited over the roof of the arena, searching for the strange man. I didn't see him, but my spine shivered at the sight of my dad, staring at me intently. I ducked my head down, breaking away from his gaze. I smiled when my Mother appeared next to him, a proud grin on her features. I released a deep breath as Gobber stood in front of us. He studied us for a while before speaking."All of you passed-". A coarse of cheers interrupted him."-I will read our your names one by one and you result. It's out of 10". He explained, briefly pausing before continuing."If you get a 3 or lower, your at the lowest possible . 4-7 Is the centre stage and 7-10 Is the highest, it means your already skilled in most of them." Gobber finished. No one said anything as we all waited in anticipation."Alrighty then". He slowly began to red put names and results, I blocked everything out until he came to Jacks name."Jack, You got.....8".He said, never looking up. Me, Astrid and Jack all silently cheered as Gobber read out a couple more names until he came to Astrid."9, for you Astrid". He said in a bored voice. Astride eyes lit up with joy and she quickly hugged both me and Jack with a wide grin. Gobber paused for a moment before reading out my score."Hunter,". He stopped, scratching his a chin while nodding slowly in approval."10". He said simply. Astrid jumped on my lap, hugging me tightly. Jack clapped his hand on my back with a toothy grin."Nice job, for a Haddock". He said cheekily while the other students gathered in there own little groups." What was that?" A gruff voice cut us off. My head snapped in the direction of the entrance, landing on the strong build of my father. He walked up to us as we all scrambled to our feet. Jack cleared his throat nervously while Astrid kept one arms around my torso, I loosely wrapped an arm around her waist, my hand resting limply on her hip."Oh, ummm, Hi Mr Haddock". Jack stuttered, his voice wavering slightly. Dad raised an amused eyebrow at him."Jack, Astrid, Son". He said , acknowledging us. He then turned back to Jack."So, what was that about Haddocks?" He amused in a demanding voice, but struggled to hide the smile on his face. I failed to suppress the laughter bubbling in my throat when Jacks eyes widen and his whole body stiffened."I, umm,I-You?,IT WAS ASTRID!" He finished, pointing directly at Astrid's face, never looking away from Stoic. By now, me and and Astrid were dying of laughter. Stoic smirked and rested on the heel of his feet."Is that so?" He asked, purposely making his voice deep. Jack squeaked in horror, slowly shuffling behind me. I had regained my posture and smiled, looking at my father. He returned my gaze, a genuine smile on his face."You did good son, you did good". He finished, walking out of the arena. I released a breath of relief I didn't know I was holding. I felt Astrid grip my upper arm, making me turn towards her. She smiled and rested her chin on my shoulder."I'm proud of you." She said softly, just as her gaze drifted off towards the roof of the arena. Her smile flattered slightly. I raised an eyebrow but shrugged it off."Alright, Class over". Gobber said, cutting off my thoughts. Everyone scattered out, several cheers and claps radiating off them. I rolled my eyes as we walked out, heading for the school exit. Merida and the rest of the gang were already waiting there, lost in there own conversation. Else noticed us first, she shot up and ran right into Jack, lightly kissing his check. He grinned wickedly at her actions. The rest of them stood up. Astrid headed over to Ruff, Heather and Merida, Elsa following. Me, Jack, Fishlegs, Snotlout and Tuff grouped as we all walked to my house. I practically blurred out the whole conversation. I couldn't shake off the feeling that we were being watched. My head snapped to the side, looking at nothing but a frenzy of trees and students. I shook my head and continued to walk. It wasn't long before we had reached my house and the girls rushed upstairs while we all changed down stairs. I slipped into the bathroom and peeled off my shirt and grabbed my swim shorts.

Once the girl were finished dressing we descended down the stairs, seeing the boys already in the pool. Snotlout and Tuff were having a bomb competition, Fishlegs watching with amusement while Hiccup and Jack were sitting in the one corner of the pool, deep in a conversation about who knows what. I quietly crept along the edge of the pool, sitting behind Hiccup with my legs in The water. Elsa just jumped in, placing herself against Jacks side, cuddling up to him as they shared a whispered conversation. I reached a hand out to run it through Hiccups smooth, auburn hair. He jumped at the contact, making us all laugh. I began to twist small braids into his hair by his neck as he leaned back so his spine was against the pool edge, my legs hung on ether side of him.
Merida had joined the bomb competition. Ruff and Heather where watching along with Fishlegs. All in a series of conversations.
Once I had made two braids at the back of hiccups head, I sunk into the water, sitting on Hiccups lap with my head on his shoulder. He fiddled with the end if my braid as I traced patterns on his stomach. It was the most relaxing afternoon I'd had in a while, but I couldn't shake the feeling of uncertainty and caution. One question swirled around in my mind.
Who was the hooded skrill hybrid?
