Marianne - All those years ago.

I sat on the toilet, my trembling hand holding the small white stick that would tell me if I was pregnant or not. Some parts of me wanted to be pregnant, others not because my baby wouldn't ever get to meet his or her father.
The baby would have to live a life of secrecy, because he or she wouldn't be normal. They would be a hybrid, a child of a human and a child of a giant alien robot from the planet Cybertron. I was going to leave if I was pregnant, it would be safer for all of us.
She, I have this weird feeling that my baby is a girl, will cause him to not be able to pay attention. He will risk everything for her, and for me, and he will die because of it. No, I had to leave and I would.
As soon as I saw that little blue plus line, a sob escaped my throat. This was it, this was going to be me leaving. I stood up and wrapped the test in toilet paper, throwing it away before swiftly walking out of the bathroom.
I first saw Epps, one of the few men at base who I was friends with. The tears built up in my eyes and he knew, Epps knew exactly what it meant. He brought me in for a tight hug, one that I returned quickly.
Epps and Lennox were my closest friends on base, they had been there for me through thick and thin. We had all bled together, and sacrificed so much together. "I'll miss you Epps, as soon as I settle down I'll mail you my address." I whispered softly in his ear.
The only ones who would know about my pregnancy would be Epps, Lennox, and Ratchet. I was only telling Ratchet because she would trust him with the medical needs, not wanting her baby to have to go through hospitals that would want to experiment on her because of her different DNA.
I let go of Epps and looked up at him, tears still in my eyes and a sob escaped my throat. "I wish there could be another way Epps, I wish there was. I don't want to leave, but I know it will be for the best." I said, as he wiped away my tears.
"Don't worry Short Stack, I'll mail you so much that your mailbox will literally be full of letters." he jokes, which made a small laugh escape my lips as I nodded my head at his words.
"I'll be expecting those letters, and I'll read through each and every one of them." I whispered back, kissing his cheek softly. "I need to get going, while most of the 'Bots are still in recharge. I left a note for Lennox to tell Ratchet, since I don't want to bother the medic at the moment." I told him, as he grabbed my stuff from the secret hiding spot in the corner.
He helped me carry it to the jeep I was taking, before handing me the keys. "Take care Short Stack, I'm going to miss you around base." he says, kissing my forehead before ruffling my hair up.
"I'll make sure to send you a letter first Epps, no one else before you." I told him, a small smile on my lips as he chuckled at my statement. Between him and Lennox, I don't know who I was closer to at the moment. It always changed, but right now I was closest to Epps.
"I'll go make sure no one walks down this way if they wake up, you just get out of here as soon as you can." he says, saluting me as he grinned sadly at me. "Bye Marianne, I'll hopefully see you again someday." he says, before jogging off to go stand guard.
I quickly climbed in the jeep and sat down, starting it as soon as I could. The tears in my eyes finally slipped out, as I drove out of the base I deemed my home.
All because of a one night stand with Ironhide, one that had gotten me pregnant. I wouldn't give this baby up for anything though, I was already attached to my small little unborn baby growing up inside me right now.
I smiled to myself as I drove down the familiar dirt road, speeding down the military road towards the new life I would have with my baby. I took one hand off of the wheel and laid it against my abdomen, right over where my little baby was growing inside me.
