~ Outside in the meadow, an hour later ~

            I was sitting out in the meadow with the twins, Skids and Mudflap, and they were asking me question after question about what my life had been like before the Decepticons attacked. They were keeping my mind off what had happened, and it was sweet of them to do that.

            “So little femme, you got any mech in ya life tha’ ya like?” Mudflap asked me, grinning at me as he leaned back on his arms while sitting to my right. His twins, Skids, was sitting to my left in the same position with a smirk on his faceplates. “Yeah, we wanna hear about ‘im if ya do got one.”

            A laugh escaped my throat and I smiled up at the sky, thinking about the one guy in my life I liked more than a friend. “Well there is this one guy, I’ve known him for over two years now… we didn’t exactly end on speaking terms, before the Decepticons attacked.” I told them, glancing at them both.

            By the looks on their faceplates, I knew they were silently telling me to go on. “His name is Cade, he’s older than me by one year. He’s kissed me a couple times, and we’ve flirted a few times, but nothing more than that.” I told them, slightly startled when they let out groans.

            Before they could explain why they had groaned, three sets of thumping footsteps made their way towards us. I turned around and looked up at my father, Ratchet, and Optimus Prime. My eyes widened as I suddenly stood, as if it would make the height difference between us any shorter.

            “I am sorry Lucille, I could not help but overhear you talking about a mech by the name of Cade?” Optimus asked me, making me nod my head and motion him to continue. “Would this be a nickname of sorts? Would you mind telling me his full designation, Lucille?”

            I stood there for a few seconds, before finally responding to the Prime’s question. “His full name is Cade Barri, I’ve known him for around two years. What caught your attention about him, Optimus?” I asked, curious as to why Optimus was questioning me about Cade at all….

            Every mech around me shared a look which made me more confused and frustrated, I just wanted to know what they were all thinking about! “Lucille, I believe your friend may be….” Optimus trails off, his voice soft and quiet as he spoke. “I believe he may be the Decepticon known as Barricade.”

            My eyes flew open in shock at his words, and I wasn’t breathing as I processed Optimus’ words. Cade might be a Decepticon? He might be one of the giant robots that attacked my house the other night? Now that I think about it, I had heard a police siren that night and Cade did own a police car….

            The sudden realization that my friend, the guy I had a crush on, might be a Decepticon hit me full force and I took in ragged breaths as I stumbled backwards. If Cade actually was what they said he was, then he might have just been using me all along… he might have just been trying to get close to me because of me and my parents.

            I turned away from the Autobots and ran off back into the base, racing past my uncles who looked at me sympathetically. The others had already told them then, that’s why they were giving me that look… I ran into the room I was staying in, shutting and locking the door behind me.

            Leaning against the door, I slid down in and buried my face in my hands as the tears slid out of my eyes. How could he use me like that? How could he pretend to be my friend, kiss me all those times, only for him to end up being one of the Decepticons that had attacked my house in the end.

            For what seemed like hours, but was only maybe half an hour, I just sat in my room to my thoughts, crying my eyes out until all I could do was sniffle. I finally had decided to find out for myself, to find out if what they said was true. Was Cade really a Decepticon?

            Sneaking out of my room was the easy part, getting past the soldiers, the Autobots, and my uncles was the hard part but eventually I got to where they kept the vehicles. I stole a pair of keys off the key holder, climbing into a jeep and starting it swiftly.

            As I put the car into drive, I heard footsteps walking up behind me so I glanced behind me to see my father and my uncle Lennox standing there shocked at what I was doing. Before they could do anything to stop me though, I raced out of the base only hearing the sound of Ironhide transforming behind me and the loud roar of his engine.

            They were following me, trying to stop me from going and finding out from Cade the truth. Eventually, after a lot of twists and close calls on the dirt roads, I lost them before arriving at the gate and soon I was free of the base grounds. Now I was heading home, to talk to Cade myself.

~ Back in Arizona ~

            I sat on the front porch of my house with my phone pressed against my ear, waiting for Cade to answer so I could talk to him. A sigh of relief escaped me when he answered, a worried tone in his voice as he asked me where I was and if I was alright. He was always a worrier…

            Taking a deep breath to try and ready myself, I shut my eyes as I spoke. “Cade, there is something we need to talk about. I’m at my house, so it would be nice for you to show up soon so we can talk. It’s important.” I whispered softly into the phone, hearing him say that he would be here as soon as possible.

            Putting my phone away once I hung up, I stared up at the sky as I readied myself for the conversation I would be having with Cade. I would find out today if what they were saying about him was true, whether he was a Decepticon or not. I just hoped they were wrong about this.

Hey guys! I know I haven't updated in a while (I've been travelling back and forth between parents and grandparents, and I've been sick) so I decided to update... with two chapters instead of one XD
