Lucille - Christmas... and Primus, Cade!
I woke up and glanced around, trying to figure out why exactly I had woken up then all of a sudden I looked towards the calendar and… it’s Christmas! That’s why I woke up at flipping five in the morning!
I felt arms tighten around me and heard someone mumble, causing me to freeze before looking behind me. I was graced with the sight of Cade sleeping peacefully, making me smile softly.
He looked so at peace when he was asleep, something I rarely saw when he wasn’t asleep. He had been going through a lot lately, most things I didn’t know about though, and I helped out with whatever I could.
Slowly I reached a hand up, brushing my hand barely against his cheek but that was all it took for his eyes to flutter open. He glances around the room, looking confused, before his eyes met mine and we shared a smile.
“Morning Lucy.” He whispers, kissing my cheek and unwrapping his arms from around my waist. Of course, that didn’t help anything but to make my blush darker.
I slipped out of the bed and stretched, a yawn escaping my lips before I grin and rush down the hallway. It was Christmas, of course I’m going to act like a five year old and rush down the hall towards the Christmas tree!
Footsteps followed my own, and I knew Cade was following me towards the living room where my uncles had set up the tree. I froze in the living room when I saw everyone else already up, and Cade almost ran into me.
Moments later, we were all sitting on the couches with either mugs full of eggnog or hot chocolate in our hands. The first gifts were being passed out, and the small box in my hand was from Cade himself.
I was the last one to open up my first gift, and my hand instantly flew to my mouth at the sight of the beautiful necklace in the small box. Tears instantly welled in my eyes, as I turned to face Cade.
Seconds later I was tackling him, hugging him tightly with my arms wrapped around his neck as happy tears left my eyes. “Thank you so much Cade, it’s absolutely beautiful!”
He just chuckled softly, and I felt him kiss the top of my head as he wraps his arms around me. “You’re welcome Lucy, I’m happy you like it so much.” He whispers in my ear, making me look up at him.
The grin on my lips showed him I was beyond happy. “I don’t like it Cade.” I said, and his face went from happy to broken so fast. “I love it.” I added in, kissing his cheek softly.
He let out a very audible sigh and chuckles, before pulling away from me and grabbing the necklace from me. “Here, allow me Lucy.” He says, and I turn around so he could put the necklace on for me.
I pulled my hair out of his way and sat still, feeling the cool metal of the necklace against my warm skin until I finally heard it click before his hands weren’t touching my skin anymore.
My eyes quickly glanced down, where I saw the beautiful necklace with a blue crystal I couldn’t identify at the moment. I let go of my hair as I turned back to look at Cade. “Thank you again Cade, it’s wonderful.”
A throat being cleared made me snap my eyes from Cade, and look over at my uncle Lennox. Immediately I fixed him with a dark glare, and he held his hands up in surrender and chuckled
*Later that day*
I was walking Cade out the door, since he had said he needed to head home. “I’ll see you later Cade.” I said, standing out on the front porch with him. He stopped in his tracks, before turning back to me with a look of determination on his face.
“Wait Lucy, before I leave there is one more gift I need to give you.” He says, before suddenly leaning in and pecking me on the lips. “I’ll call you tomorrow Lucy.” He says, a smirk present on his lips as he continues to walk towards his car.
Stunned, I just stood there with wide eyes until his car was long out of view. Immediately I let out a squeal and ran back inside, a skip in my step as I did so. He kissed me! Cade kissed me!
Apparently since I wasn’t paying enough attention, I ran into my uncle Lennox and almost fell backwards if it had not been for him catching me by my arms before I lost my balance enough. “Whoa! You okay there shorty?” he teased me, chuckling.
I laughed and nodded my head, grinning up at my uncle. “I’m better than okay, uncle Lennox!” I said, ignoring the nickname he had called me. Usually I would glare at him when he called me that but right now I was too happy.
Both of my uncles watched me skip up the stairs, before they turned to look at my grinning mother who laughed at their puzzled looks. “Cade kissed her, about time he did too.” Was all she said, before walking off towards the kitchen.
Lennox and Epps looked at each other and they nodded their heads, grabbing their guns out of their holsters as they headed out the door to see if that boy was still around somewhere…..
