Lucille - At the Base

*Hours later*

I was above ground again, and I beyond exhausted as I dragged my feet while walking up the dirt road towards the base my uncles worked at. I came to the gates and walked forwards, grabbing the gates and shaking them lightly.

A soldier came out of one of the towers and pulled me away from the gates. “Ma’am, you need to leave. This is a restricted military base.” He says, dragging me away.

I quickly squirmed around, trying to get away from the soldier. “I’m here to see my uncles! My name is Lucille Anaelle Conners, I’m the daughter of Marianne Gabriella Conners! I’m here to see Robert Epps and William Lennox!” I yelled, struggling to get out of his grip and back to the gate.

The soldier seemed to freeze for a bit, as if he was thinking it over before he continued to drag me away from the gate. “My house was attacked by Decepticons!” I added in, hoping that would work. Apparently it did, since he let go of me and grabbed the walkie talkie he had on him.

“Sir, there is a young teenage girl at the base claiming to be the niece of Lennox and Epps, and she also claims that her house was attacked by Decepticons.” He said into the walkie talkie, keeping a close eye on me. “She says her name is Lucille Conners, daughter of Marianne Conners.”

The next thing I heard over the walkie talkie, was a lot of yelling and I took a step back. My eyes widened as I looked at the soldier, who had instantly yanked the walkie talkie away from his ear. “Y-yes sir, right away sir.” He says, before stuffing the walkie talkie back in his pocket.

He grabbed my arm again, this time a lot more gently, before dragging me to the gate. He typed in something on the codepad, before suddenly the gate opened and he pushed me forwards lightly. “Follow the dirt path to the first hangar, your uncles will be in there.” He says, before turning back and walking into his tower.

I walked down the path, hearing the gate shut behind me, towards the first hangar. I walked into the hangar and looked around, feeling a lot of eyes on me as I turned back around and saw the backs of my two uncles talking to someone.

Somewhere deep inside of me I felt as though I should know who that man is, with his black hair and the scar on his eye…. Why did he seem so familiar? He looked tough, and with the few different weapons he had on him made me think he was some type of weapons specialist.

“Uncle Lennox, uncle Epps!” I yelled, tears coming to my eyes as they whipped around and saw me there. They instantly rushed over to me, each one grabbing one of my shoulders.

“What happened Lucy, why are you here? Where is your mom?” Lennox asks, glancing around. He was searching for any sign of my mom, and it hurt that I would have to tell him my mom had been captured by Decepticons.

“Uncle Lennox, there were these things… my mom called them Decepticons. They attacked the house. She made sure I got out, they almost shot me but I hid in the sewers and made my way here.” I said, my eyes filling with tears. My mom might be gone forever, those giant robots could have killed her for all we knew!

Uncle Lennox was quick to hug me, holding me tightly to his chest and rubbing my back while cooing softly. He told me that it had always worked on Annabelle when she was a little girl, and it had been the same with me as a baby. “We’ll find your mom Lucy, I promise.”

I heard footsteps coming over to us, and I glanced to the side of my uncle to see the same man they were talking to before. “Lennox, who is this? Did she say Decepticons attacked her house? If so, her and her mother may have something they want.” He says. “I suggest we find out what and take it into custody.”

Uncle Lennox instantly turned his head to glare at the other man. “Ironhide, the thing they want isn’t a thing. They want someone, not something.” He says, letting go of me before turning back to me. “Lucy, did your mother give you anything at all to give to someone?”

I nodded my head and slipped off my little backpack, opening it up and taking out the letter. I looked at the name on the letter, my eyebrows furrowing in confusion. “Uncle Lennox, it says it’s to someone named Ironhide.” I said, and the man talking before reached out his hand and took it from me.

“I’m Ironhide, weapons specialist here at the Autobot base.” He grumbles, looking at the letter in his hand. “Why would your mother give me a letter? How would she even know me?” he asks, turning his gaze back to me.

Instead of me answering though, my uncle Lennox answered instead. “Ironhide, her name is Lucille Conners. Her mother is Marianne.” He says, and the look on Ironhide’s face went from rough to shock. This was going to be a long day then, since apparently this guy knew my mom…
