Chapter 37
Jimin returned at his mansion after he was done with his work for the day.
He had actually no intentions of leaving his apartment today and coming all the way to his mansion but he had changed his mind after he had looked out the window before he was ready to head to sleep.
It was raining heavily and he knew that you might have been still there, probably unable to have found any transportation to return home. He had tried calling you but you hadn't picked up his calls, making him worried enough to dress up again, hop on his car and come find you.
"Y/N!" He called as he walked passed the living room and towards the kitchen, looking for you.
As he arrived there and didn't found you a sigh left his lips as he turned around and headed for the library that you were supposed to clean up.
"There is no way she is still cleaning, right?" He mumbled, as he thought that such a thing would be absurd, considering the time that was past midnight.
He pushed the door, the cracking sounds echoing around, making the whole situation a little creepy.
He stepped down the stairs slowly, noticing that the stairs were already cleaned up and no spec of dust could be seen in them.
He looked around surprised by how much clean this place actually looked now compared with how he remembered it when he opened that door after so many years.
"Y/N, are you here?!" He called again, his echoing back in the perfect silence.
His steps as he walked around the room to check were the only sound in the atmosphere but thankfully it stopped, as he halted after your figure had fallen in his view.
Your back laying at the one side of the desk as your head was tilted to the side, sleeping.
He smiled for a moment as he approached you, lowering his body to come face to face with you.
Your face was covered in dust and your hair was all messed up. It was obvious that you were exhausted and that you had worked hard.
"Idiot. I told you to clean up but i never gave you a dead line." He mumbled as he had never intended to make you clean all this place in just one day, considering that it was very big and contained many books. But to his surprise you had managed to do it and that was as hilarious for him as frustrating it is going to be for you when you find out that you had no deadline for this.
He carefully picked you up on his arms, not caring much if your clothes were full of dirt and would stain his that were perfect clean.
He looked at your sleeping face as you shifted a little on his arm, unconsciously burying your head in his neck, while he kept walking, till he reached to the stuff's room and got into the one you had stayed once.
He gently laid you on the bed then threw a blanket above your body to make sure you would be warm.
As he was about to leave, a loud thunder was heard and in his mind traveled back the first memory of you, when he had first brought you to his mansion and had asked of you to clean it.
Back then he was really not nice with you and definitely he would have never imagined back then that this silly story of wanting to give you a lesson for stealing his exam papers, would have lead up to you being involved in his life, this much as you have.
The second thunder that roared after the other made him also recall your screaming as the thunderstorm had scared you that night accompanied by the black out that had followed.
With that in his mind he turned and looked at you for a moment, then approached your bed, laying beside you.
"I will stay with you tonight. In case you get scared." He mumbled while he folded his two hands under his head as a pillow.
Jimin didn't closed his eyes though. He kept observing you for some reason and started thinking. Without your round glasses, your eyes were easier to be noticed. And with your hair down, instead of that granny pony tail that you often kept them, you just looked more appealing.
She is not ugly. She is just lazy.
He had thought, a small smile forming on his lips before he closed his eyes and tried to fall asleep.
---Time skip---
The door bell ringing constantly had disturbed his sleep making his eyes fly open.
The first view he had was of your face that were sleeping at the same position as he remembered you yesterday, except that his hand was now wrapped around your waste and his head was touching your shoulder.
Jimin retrieved himself immediately and then flew off the bed and out of the room, slamming the door behind him a little to much for his liking.
You growled at the sudden noise that had managed to shake uo your slumber and changed side only to slowly get irritated by the bell that was still piercing your ears with it's sound.
"The heck. Why can't he open the freaking door already." You mumbled in frustration as you grabbed your pillow and placed your head under it, in an attempt to reduce the noise.
"Yah!" You yelled as you threw the pillow away and stood up, online to realize that you weren't home and this wasn't your room and as thus there was no roommate to whom you were referring to earlier, to open up the door.
"Oh shit!" You cursed at the realization that you were at Jimin's mansion which also meant that you have to go get that door or no one will.
Flying out of the bed and after you quickly fixed whatever you could of your still messed up self, you rushed down the corridor to get the door. However your fit halted just before you could turn round the corner and step into the living room, as you heard Jimin speaking.
"What are you doing here?" He asked, not pleased to the slightest from his mother's unexpected visit.
"I passed by your apartment but you weren't there so i figured you might be here." She answered simply as she took of her coat.
"Why did you take that off. You are not staying!" He sternly told her making her look up to him with a sly smile.
"Why? Are you not alone perhaps or are you just afraid that you can't control yourself around me?" She asked, her expression showing her confidence about her second assumption.
"My girlfriend is inside and we were sleeping. I don't really appreciate your interference ." He responded emphasizing the girlfriend as a word as he went on.
Her face darkened immediately at the mention of you, since you were the one she knew as Jimin's girlfriend.
" To say that i am not offended about the fact that you went and fell in love with an ugly girl after me, would be a lie." She told him while she passed by him and took a seat on the couch.
"Just why did you come. Say what you want to say and go. I don't have time to waste." Jimin spoke to her coldly once again, however this time she did not gave a calm reaction.
"Time! Back then I was your time! I was your everything! Now you are just throwing me away for a nothing geek girl!" She yelled and the silence that followed was scary. Jimin's eyes were pinned on her, an expression of anger you had never managed to see on his face till now.
" Me?! I am leaving you?! You left me instead. You chose money over my love NeeRin!! "He shouted, calling her by her name after a long time.
" How many times do I have to explain that to you?! "She argued only to make him rise his voice even more as he responded to her.
" It doesn't matter how many times you explain. Nothing can change what you did and who you chose to be to me!!"
"BUT I STILL LOVE YOU!" She shouted, her hard breathing being the only sound after her words as a cold silence engulfed the atmosphere making the mood extremely uncomfortable for you but dangerous as well.
"You are the only man i ever loved Jimin. We had made so many dreams together, about us. Our future.." She said making you recall the photo that you saw yesterday of the two hands that had rings on their wedding fingers and the promise of making her his wife in the future, that Jimin had wrote below the photo.
" I admit. I made a mistake. Maybe many mistakes but i did it all in an attempt to keep you. Don't you understand!" Tears fell from her eyes as she was talking and you could see that she was sincere.
Her pain was real and Jimin knew that too. That was the reason why he hated it all. He hated talking about this, seeing her cry but mostly he hated feeling bad for her pain and getting hurt with her.
Everything would have been different today, if only she could have waited for him. If only she would have been honest with him. If only he could have stopped himself from loving her so much.
Everything would have been different, if that awful day, his girlfriend wasn't the one that their father had brought to meet his sons, one week before their wedding.
Everything would have been different if he that day hadn't been mercilessly killed and his dreams and happiness buried twenty feet under the ground as he had to pretend that he doesn't know her and shake her hand, calling her.. 'mother'.
"Don't you understand?" He answered her, his eyes filled with tears as well.
"I loved you too. I loved you so much. I lost my brother because of you! I lost my self because of you! I betrayed myself for you! But I finally understood that it wasn't worth it. Cause you never loved me enough. If you had we wouldn't be here today, like this. " His words pained your heart making you shed tears in his stead, as his tears dried off as he was talking.
" Jimin-ie, we can still fix this. I can get a divorce and we can leave somewhere far away, together. "She proposed making your eyes go wide as well as his did.
That moment she just asked him to leave everything behind and go with her. To betray everyone just to have her again. The biggest love of his life as well as the most painful of them all.
" Please don't answer me now. Promise me you will think it over. Please. I still love you and you know that. Please, think about it." She said then grabbed her stuff and headed to the door, leaving.
After she was gone, everything seemed empty to Jimin. Like she had just come, wrecked him and then left him behind with a ticking bomb consuming his life span, his soul, his thoughts.
Why couldn't she just leave him alone? Why couldn't she just let him get freed of her chains once and for good. But the most frustrating one, why was he still so weak when it came to her.
Has he made no progress? Does he still love her the same as before ? No, that wasn't it but he couldn't deny that inside him a door was still open for her and was that exact door that he wanted to close and erase forever.
But it wasn't easy. She never made it easy for him. Never.
As his mind started clearing up, a sound of sobbing reached to his ears and he immediately run towards the corridor, reminded of you.
He found you crawled up on the floor, crying silently and he looked at you confused as he lowered himself to come to your level.
"Y/N, What happened? Why are you crying?!" He cupped your cheeks between his hands, looking at you clearly worried but unfortunately you couldn't stop crying, even though you didn't really want to cry.
It was just that somehow all this story was hitting your emotions really hard and you couldn't take the unfairness off it all. It was like you were watching a movie and it had made you to emotional. With the only difference that this was his life and unfortunately it was not sure that it would have a happy ending.
"I am sorry, i overheard. I am sorry." You told him between your cries and his eyes widen in surprise for a moment, before they transform to soft, thankful that you were actually crying for him.
"Idiot. There is nothing to cry about." He mumbled as he took you in his embrace, patting your hair gently as you continued crying in his arms.
His heart warming up from your tears and the awful feelings that he was feeling a moment ago, slowly being washed away by your kindness.
