Train

I shower after Alex. We head to the Train Station with our first clue. Avery purchases 4 tickets to New York's Central Station. On the train, I sit next to Alex and Cody sits next to Avery. After the train leaves, he turns to me.

"Can I kiss you?" He asks.
"You don't have to ask..." I say.
"He's just being a gentleman," the woman from across the isle says to us.
"I suppose so," I say, finally leaning in our kiss. I pull back with a smirk across my face and lean back in my seat. Kitty corner to us is a middle aged woman. She turns to us. Now what?

"There are children on this bus," She says.
"I didn't know kissing was so awful," I say, snarky. She scoffs.
"Kissing isn't a bad thing, if you are a legit couple... which you aren't...." She states.
        "Excuse me?" I ask.
"You shouldn't be dating him. You two are going to have the ugliest babies. Mixed babies are the worst. You shouldn't be showing these children that that is okay. He should find a nice Chinese woman and you should find a nice white man," she says. Alex's jaw drops and I hear Avery gasp from behind me.
"For starters, he's Indian. And secondly, I don't think that you should be teaching children rudeness either," I say, bringing out my bitchy side. She turns around and rants to the woman next to her. The first woman turns to us.
"I think you are a beautiful couple," She says.
"Thank you, ma'am," I say. I yawn and lean my head against Alex. Before I know it, I'm asleep. I'm awoken to gun shots. I pop my head up, a masked man points a gun in the air. He slowly walks to us. He yanks my arm.

"Your going to have to come with me, all four of you..." He says. I glance at Alex to is already standing.
"Who are you?" I ask. The man doesn't answer, but pulls me along. The other passengers watch in horror, all but one who stands up.
"FBI! Stop right there!" Says the tall figure. The masked man drops my hand and bolts. I stand there, breathing heavy as the agent chases the masked man. I throw myself at Alex who catches me in a hug. I take big heaves, sobbing into his chest.

The FBI dude comes back, he couldn't catch him. His name is Agent Brown. While we are still on the train he asks us questions and we explain our situation. The passengers near us give us the most pitiful looks. I suppose I would have too. He makes phone calls and some how pulled enough strings to make our murders an official FBI case. Our joy is ruined by a text:

Ah, Agent Brown. Not a smart man. He has absolutely no idea who's he's dealing with. Anywho, there's still clues in New York. That guy was never going to actually take you... I just wanted to see how you'd each react when I actually kidnap you. Have fun in NYC!

PS. Buy me a cannoli...

Agent Brown lets us choose. We were told to either go, but meet him with after. Or we were told to have an FBI agent to search for us. Now, I know myself and my friends pretty well. I didn't even have to ask, but I did. There was no way I was passing this along. Avery was always up for the adventure and I quote, "If we die, we die, yolo bitches." Cody agreed happily, while he didn't say it, he I know he wouldn't pass up the opportunity to rescue Avery, a damsel in distress. My heart knew that anyone, damsel or not, was going to be in distress it'd be Alex. He was sweating at the idea of the murderer, he was about to pass out when we suggested going. He agreed, eventually.

We're armed, the back car of our train was loaded with guns. Agent Brown got us each one. I never thought there would be a day when I would need to use...to even think about using one. Avery picked up the gun, her face in an expression I've never seen before. Her eyes were worried and sad, but her smirk was determined. I turn my head to Cody who's having the same reaction I am. It must be a Rose trait. The hope, I mean, that I'd never need to hold or even see a gun. Alex was much different, his hands trembled and he took a deep breath. That's when the shaking ended. He mumbled something to himself, something, perhaps I'll never know what. I tear falls from Avery's eyes.

"Avery are you alright?" I ask. This draws Alex and Cody's attention. I see Agent Brown glaring too. We watch as she takes I deep breath. Maybe preparing something to say. A reason, an excuse, perhaps. She looks up, her entire face sad now. She opens her mouth, but closes it again. I feel the eyes of other passengers watching. She takes three more heavy breaths before opening her mouth again. I watch in anticipation, wonder what possibly could be running through her mind.

"I killed my father.... with a gun identical to this one," She spits.
