Airport
I eventually leave the library and find myself at Avery's. When I walk in, Cody is asleep on the couch. Avery and I go up to her room. She gives me clothing to borrow. My trip is tomorrow. I'm staying at Alex's tonight so we can head to the airport in the morning. We're staying 10 days, so I pack 10 outfits. Avery picks most of them out. All are much—showier—per say, than I usually wear. It'll just be me and Alex, who hopefully I can trust.
After packing, I say goodbye to her and Cody and leave for Alex's. I notice a few small bruises forming on my arms. Curious, I pull out my phone and discover a bruise forming on my cheek, also. Alex opens the door and immediately noticed my bruises. I tell him not to worry about it, but he does anyway.
[Mature]
We sit on his couch and stare at each other. I look into his bright green eyes, he grins at my face. As if we planned it, we both lean in for a kiss. He pulls me on top of him and I stare at him smirking.
"I love you, so much..." he mutters.
"I love you too, Alex," I reply. He slips his hands around my waist, so I tug at his sweats. He has me undressed before I realize something.
"Where's your roommate?"
"At his boyfriend's." Alex answers. So, Zane is gay, interesting... I pull Alex back into a kiss and he flips me over. I wrap my legs around his body. He comes up for air.
"Are we moving too fast?" He asks.
"Nope.." I say and finish undressing him. A groan escapes my lips, which causes Alex to giggle.
"God, you're so perfect..." he mutters between kisses. We move to the bedroom, where I wake up the next morning...to the sound of our alarm.
[Mature Over]
I sit up and stretch, Alex stares.
"What?" I say. He chuckles a little.
"You're naked..."
"So are you?" I point out. He looks down and laughs. He rolls closer.
"Was that your first time?" Alex asks, worry in his eyes.
"Uh, no, was that yours?" I ask.
"No. Just making sure," he says. I slip out of bed and wrap a blanket around myself. Alex follows me into the bathroom.
"You can shower, I'll shave and brush my teeth," He says. I drop the blanket and run the shower water. I drag the shower curtain closed when I step in. The warm water soaks my skin, washing away all my pain. Or so I hoped it did. I take my towel and dry myself before stepping out of Alex's shower. He spits out his toothpaste and drops his boxers. I watch as he steps into the shower and closes the curtain. I brush my teeth with the blue toothbrush I left at his house after our first "sleepover." After I place the toothbrush back on its holder, I attempt to make myself look decent.
I comb my messy hair and braid it. Next, I use the small amount of makeup in my purse to make myself look like I got even an hour bit of sleep in the past week. I take a pair of Avery's flowy, hot pink shorts and a white tee shirt out of my bag and change into them. I sit down on Alex's bed and wait for him to finish showering. I hear Zane come in, so I stand up and walk to the entryway.
"Morning, I'd think Alex would be up yet." He says when he sees me.
"I'm guessing you didn't expect me to be here either..." I respond.
"Well, no, but I don't care. If Alex likes you, I like you." He says.
"Good. Zane, have you eaten yet?" Alex asks, walking out from the bathroom.
"No, why?" Zane answers.
"We could all go to Waffle House before we leave," Alex explains.
"Sounds good to me," I say, anxious to get to know Zane. I didn't even know his sexual orientation, let alone anything else about him.
We walk into Waffle House and sit at a small table against the long window. Zane sits across from me and Alex. We get to know each other.
"How old are you?" Zane asks me.
"17," I answer. He looks surprised.
"I guess that fits. You're still in high school?" He asks.
"Yeah. How old are you?"
"I'm 20. What college are you going to?" He says.
"Probably University of Maine. I've got a full scholarship there. What are you majoring in?" I answer.
"Dance." He answers. I'm surprised, I didn't take him for the dancer type.
After our breakfast date, Alex and I drive to the airport. We check in and go through security easily. I wrap my arms around his waist and lean against him while we walk to our gate. I see a familiar figure and unintentionally slow down.
"What's wrong?" Alex asks me.
"Jake..." I whisper as the figure walks closer. Alex is incredibly confused. I step away from him and walk closer to Jake. I run up to him and he pulls me into a hug.
"You're supposed to be dead..." I say through my tears.
"I know," Jake answers. Suddenly, I feel guilty for hugging him. I also feel guilty for dating Alex. I step back from both of them.
"Who is he?" Alex asks.
"Who is he?" Jake repeats.
"Alex, this is Jake. My ex-boyfriend. We had been broken up for two months before he, supposedly, died. The murderer killed him, supposedly. I still loved him when we met. That's why I was even at that club. I wanted my pain to end. You cured me, I guess. Jake, this is Alex my, uh, boyfriend." I say.
"You moved on...." Jake says, almost to tears.
