Utopia

~ The Next Day (Sunday) ~

Smelling an extremely appetizing aroma coming from the outside of my room, my eyes fluttered open with my stomach loudly growling from hunger.

Sluggishly rubbing my eyes with the knuckles of my hand, I let out a big yawn and sat up in my bed.

Taking a glance at my alarm clock, I noticed it was already 11 a.m.

Why is my mom making breakfast at this time?

Scooting over to the edge of my bed, I snuggled my feet into my fuzzy slippers and hurriedly exited my room with utter bewilderment bugging me.

Reaching the kitchen, my eyes grew large at the sight of an unexpected guest diligently preparing something while wearing a grey apron.

"J-Jungkook?!" I surprisedly shouted, making him raise his head to look at me.

"Oh, hey Seoyeon." He casually greeted, as if it was a totally normal situation to find him cooking in my very own kitchen.

"W-What're you doing here?" I questioned him, still completely lost at why he was here.

"I came to visit you, but your mom told me you were locked up in your room since you got home last night, so I decided I should cheer you up by making you breakfast." He said.

Oh, right.

After Taehyung drove me home last night, I came in with my makeup all smudged, hair disheveled, and being an absolute crying mess.

Since I immediately ran up to my room, I didn't tell get the chance to tell mom 'good night' like I usually did.

"Where's my mom?" I curiously asked, eagerly looking around in search of her to apologize for last night.

"She told me she had to go to work so she left about an hour ago." He informed me, causing me to literally face-palm myself in utter disbelief.

My mom doesn't even work on Sundays.

Urgh, she probably did that on purpose to leave me alone with Jungkook.

"I'm almost done so wait at the table. I'll bring it over." He excitedly said, assuming he didn't want to spoil his little 'surprise' for me.

Chuckling at his cuteness, I responded with a small nod and obediently walked over to my kitchen table.

After a few minutes of patiently waiting, Jungkook finally came out of the kitchen with a plate in his hand and a wide grin displayed on his face.

"Tadaa~" He delightedly said as he gently placed down a plate of omelette in front of me, which had my name neatly written on top of it with ketchup.

"Why're you being so nice to me today?" I giggled.

"Just felt like it." He responded along with a shrug of his shoulders, grabbing the spoon placed next to my plate as he scooped up a small portion of the omelette and brought it up to my mouth.

"Ahh~" He adorably said as he motioned me to open up, presuming that he wanted to feed me.

"I can feed myself Jungkook." I said to him, rolling my eyes at his immature act of treating me like some sort of baby.

"Just shut up and open your mouth." He abruptly demanded, causing me to let out an offended gasp at his discourteous remark.

Taking his chance, Jungkook shoved the spoon into my mouth and took me by great surprise.

Mischievously smirking in satisfaction, he took out the spoon and excitedly stared at me grumpily munch down his omelette.

"Is it okay?" He anxiously questioned.

His omelette was a bit tasteless and bland, but I still responded with a delighted nod.

And besides, the fact that he made an effort to even make breakfast for me truly warmed my heart.

With his expression softening in relief and contentment, a wide grin formed on his face.

"Okay good. I was scared it wouldn't taste good because I forgot to add pepper." He admitted.

Oh, no wonder why.

"Thanks for making this for me Kookie." I said in genuine gratitude, warmly smiling up at him.

"You better be grateful. That was so hard to make." He complained, handing me over the spoon so I could eat my omelette.

"Wash the dishes when you're done." He rudely ordered, tiredly walking over to my couch as he collapsed down on it.

Rolling my eyes at his bipolar attitude, I took another scoop of the omelette and shoved it into my mouth.

But unintentionally, I noticed the corner of my lips curling up due to the utter happiness which overfilled my heart.

After devouring my omelette, I hurriedly rushed to the kitchen with my empty plate in hand, quickly washed it, put it away, and returned to the living room.

"Does your girlfriend know you're here?" I asked Jungkook, who was laying on my couch with his arms behind his head.

"Does she have to? I mean like, she knows you're like one of my closest friends." He carelessly responded, shrugging his shoulders in response.

"You do know she's going to kill me if she finds out you're with me right?" I said, crossing my arms as I raised an eyebrow.

"She's not the type to get easily get jealous, so it's fine." He replied.

Oh, you have no idea Kookie.

Suddenly sitting up, Jungkook turned his head to look at me with an excited, child-like grin displayed across his face.

"Wanna play games?"

"Hey, that's not fair!" Jungkook whined, grumpily pointing at the tv screen which flashed 'player two is the winner!' in radiant, yellow letters.

"Stop whining you loser." I teased, smugly smirking in satisfaction with my game controller in hand.

"Shut up, you were just lucky." He protested.

"Then explain why I won seven times in a row." I mockingly asked, causing a grouchy pout to immediately appear on his face.

"I don't like this game." He complained, angrily placing the game controller down on the table as he folded his arms like a little kid.

Suddenly, he laid down on the couch and placed his head on top of my lap, utilizing it for a pillow.

"I'm gonna go to sleep." He stated, being that care-free, jaunty being he is.

"And who gave you permission to use me as your pillow?" I questioned.

"Sorry, can't hear you. I'm sleeping." He answered with his eyes shut.

Chuckling at his immaturity, I eventually gave up and let him peacefully sleep on my lap.

Admiring his attractive side-view, I gently stroked his hair and caressed him on his head, watching him silently doze off like a drowsy little baby.

Although I knew the evident fact that I was merely a friend to him, it still felt nice to have him by my side like this.

No Yerim, no Hyeona, no obnoxious pests to disturb us.

It was just the two of us in this quiet, alleviating atmosphere.

I wish time could stop right now.

I wish this moment could last forever.

I wish he was mine.
