Rival
~ One Week Later ~
I dont know how, but I managed to survive an entire week of constantly being annoyed by that bothersome, obnoxious little pest known as Jeon Jungkook.
I can't believe I actually thought he was a decent, kindhearted guy when I first met him.
I'm just glad he made some new friends so he doesn't have as much time to provoke me now.
Currently on my way to the library, I was suddenly attacked by Yerim clinging onto my arm like some excited little puppy.
"Morning Seoyeon!" She enthusiastically shouted, being that happy ball of sunshine she always has been.
"God, you scared me." I said as I placed my hand placed on my heart to calm it down.
"Where are you going?" She curiously asked.
"The library. I need to finish my book report for history." I said in an agitated tone, letting out a lazy groan at the thought of having to complete a five page report by tomorrow.
"Wasn't that assigned like a month ago?" Yerim confusedly asked as she slightly cocked her head to the side.
"Yup." I responded.
"Procrastinating again?" She asked, raising an eyebrow at me.
"Yup." I replied, proudly nodding at my terrible habit of always doing things last minute.
Hearing my response, she let out a deep, disappointed sigh.
"I'm surprised you're still managing to get an A in that class." She said in utter amazement.
"I'm just gifted I guess." I jokingly stated, receiving a roll of her eyes from Yerim in return.
"Now I need you to follow me and help me with my report." I said, forcefully grabbing her by her arm and dragging her along with me to the library.
"Ughhh whyyy~" She whined, but I simply ignored her and continued to pull her with me.
Entering the library, I finally let go of her arm and turned around to face her.
"Okay, I need you to look for all the possible books you can find relating to Columbus." I said, only to receive a sluggish groan from her in response.
"I still don't understand why I have to help you. I should be in class finishing my own homework." She complained as she grumpily crossed her arms.
"Because you love me." I said, giving her the biggest smile I could display in order to get her to cooperate with me.
"Mm, I guess." She said, finally giving in and deciding to help me out.
"Love you Yerim!" I said, giving her a big hug of appreciation.
"Yeah yeah whatever." She idly said, probably still not motivated to do this with me.
"I'll search this side and you search the other half, okay?" I instructed, but Yerim stayed silent as she seemed to be distracted by something behind me.
"Uh Seoyeon?" She suddenly said, not taking her eyes off of whatever she was staring at.
"Yeah?" I curiously questioned.
"Your husband's staring at you." She said, pointing at the direction behind me with her index finger.
"Huh? What do you mean-"
But as I turned around to look at whatever Yerim was referring to, I noticed Jungkook leaning against the book shelf with a picture book placed in his hand, staring directly at me with a rather serious expression visible on his face.
I madly blushed from his intense gaze on me, and also at the fact that Yerim referred to Jungkook as my "husband."
Immediately turning back around, I lightly smacked her on her arm and pouted from utter embarrassment.
"H-He's not my husband!" I protested, my cheeks flaring up even more.
"Whatever Seoyeon, I've seen the way you two interact. You guys can't even keep your eyes off of each other." She teased, rolling her eyes at my attempt to even deny her nickname she gave him.
"Why would I like that obnoxious jerk?!" I said as I angrily folded my arms.
"Who're you calling a jerk?"
I flinched in fear from a sudden voice come from behind me, hastily turning around to see who it was.
There stood Jungkook, looking down at me with a sly smirk displayed across his face and both of his hands stuffed in his pockets.
"Well, I'm just gonna get going-"
But before Yerim could ditch me, I immediately grabbed her by her arm and stopped her.
"No, you're staying here." I said as I looked at her with pleading eyes, not fond of the idea of being alone with this troublesome creature behind me.
"But I dont wanna be involved in your couple fight." She complained, causing Jungkook and I to dramatically gasp in great offense from her remark.
"C-COUPLE?!" We both shouted in sync, giving each other an extremely disgusted look.
"I'm into gentle, cute girls. Not abusive gorillas like you." Jungkook rudely commented, mockingly sticking out his tongue at me.
"Psh, you don't have to embarrassed just because you're weaker than most girls." I snapped back as I rolled my eyes at him.
"Oh please, I'm way stronger than you little girl." He arrogantly stated, causing me to burst into laughter.
"Says the guy who literally cried one time just because I kicked him in the ass." I said as I exposed him, receiving an aggrieved gasp from him in return.
"A-At least I'm smarter than you!" He protested, obviously embarrassed from the previous remark I made.
"Uh, what'd you say? Sorry, I don't speak idiot." I fired back, causing his cheeks to redden from humiliation.
"Okayyy, that's enough you two." Yerim interrupted as she stood in between us, stopping this unnecessary argument like some mother attempting to control her two naughty kids.
Jungkook and I just stuck out our tongues at each other with our arms folded, both of us burning with fury.
"Come on Yerim. Let's go." I said as I grabbed her by her arm, forcefully pulling her along with me toward the opposite side of the library in order to get away from him.
While obediently following behind me, Yerim suddenly spoke up.
"I really cant believe you two are seniors. You guys act like kindergarteners." She stated, letting out a disappointed sigh at our immature behavior.
"Psh, he's the one who started it." I grumpily said, still mad at Jungkook for calling me an abusive gorilla.
She suddenly began to snicker behind me, causing me to look back at her and cock my head in confusion.
"What?" I curiously asked, wondering why she was laughing all of a sudden.
"Nothing. You two are just so adorable." She said, warmly grinning at me as if she was a proud mother.
Hearing her teasing comment, my cheeks instantly flared up.
"Y-Yerim!" I whined, lightly hitting her on her arm for saying such things.
Bursting into laughter, she nodded in agreement.
"Alright alright, I'll stop."
