I'm Sorry
Finally reaching my house, I sluggishly walked upstairs toward my room to take a little nap.
Although I intended to dive right onto my cozy bed, I once again noticed a humungous lump in my blanket.
Rolling my eyes in disbelief, I let out an exhausted sigh.
"Jungkook." I called.
Though I clearly witnessed him flinch under my blanket, he continued to remain muted and still.
I'm not falling for his stupid prank again.
Stomping over to his side, I fiercely clenched onto the edge of my blanket, viciously tugging it away and revealing the innocent-looking bunny hiding under it.
"What're you doing here?" I questioned with an eyebrow raised.
"Seoyeon, you've been avoiding me again." Jungkook grouchily complained as he sat up, forming a gloomy pout on his face.
"You're always with Taetae now, and you never have time for me anymore..." He continued, tightly embracing my pillow secured in his arms.
"I miss you Seoyeon."
Letting out a small sigh, I calmly slouched my shoulders.
"Jungkook, I'm not purposely ignoring you or anything. I'm just trying to separate myself from you because I know I cant have you." I honestly admitted.
"You know how I feel about you. You cant expect me to possibly be fine with being 'just friends.' I'm sorry, but you mean more than that to me." I sincerely confessed all over again.
Deeply sighing, Jungkook loosened his grip on the pillow as his expression softened.
"I broke up with Yerim last night." He suddenly informed me.
"What?! Why?!" I questioned in utter shock, unable to believe the fact that after cherishing and showering her with his unconditional affection, he deliberately broke it off with her.
"Seoyeon, after your confession, you just wouldn't get out of my head for some apparent reason. I've spent these past nights drowning myself in the thought of you, realizing how significant you are in my life." He bashfully stated.
"Why does it sound like you're confessing to me?" I bemusedly asked.
Letting out a laugh at my question, Jungkook fondly smiled up at me.
"Because I am."
My heart greatly fluttered, releasing the crap ton of butterflies out of the sealed chamber inside of me.
Lingering in my position, I speechlessly watched him stand up from my bed, gradually approaching me with his cheeks tinted in crimson red.
Stopping in front of me, Jungkook sheepishly took my hand.
"I like you Seoyeon. I really do." He genuinely confessed, tenderness and passion overflowing from his attractive smirk on his face.
I literally couldn't believe my ears.
The person I've inevitably dreamt of every single night, spent countless days daydreaming of, and earnestly desired of for the longest time was really confessing to me.
With a playful, mischievous grin appearing, Jungkook leaned in closer toward me.
"Can I steal a kiss from you since you stole from me too?"
My cheeks scorching up even more than it already was, I madly blushed from his sudden question.
"Wha-"
Although I attempted to complain, I was interrupted by a vigorous yet gentle peck on my mouth by his soft, plump lips.
"We're equal now." Jungkook cutely stated, his face flushed in a rosy shade.
Craving more of his sugary, addicting kiss, I lightly cupped both his cheeks with the palm of my hands, pulling him in and colliding my lips onto his once again.
I clearly felt him grin with my lips still attached to his, only to cause the two of us to become absolute blushing, smiling idiots.
But suddenly, we heard a forceful bang echo through my entire room, causing us to hastily disconnect our lips and face the direction of where the sound came from with our hands still interlaced.
"Seoyeon you forgot your phone at my house." Taehyung barged into my room through the door, holding my polkadot-cased iPhone in his hand.
Noticing Jungkook and I motionlessly standing there with an anxious, apprehensive expression visible on our faces, he froze as well.
Gradually shifting his gaze toward our intertwined hands, his eyebrows furrowed.
Fiercely throwing my phone down onto my carpet, he furiously stomped out of my room and aggressively slammed the door shut.
"T-Taehyung!!!" I called, hurriedly running after him.
By the time I reached him, he was already exiting my house with his hand secured on the knob of my front door.
"Taehyung wait!!" I shouted, rushing out of my house as I vigorously grasped onto his arm in attempt to stop him.
"Get the hell away from me!" He shouted at the top of his lungs, strongly flinging my hand away from him as he turned around to face me.
"Was I just your stress reliever?! An escape plan?! A fucking cover-up?!" He continued to yell at me, his veins visible on the side of his neck from his extreme rage.
Unable to utter a single word from the fright that overwhelmed me, I fearfully stared up at him with my hands beginning to tremble.
Seeing my vulnerable, terrified state, Taehyung let out a disbelieved scoff.
"You know, I actually believed you when you told me you loved me." He sorely admitted, his voice slightly cracking from raising his voice.
Although there was huge lump in my throat, I gathered up my courage and spoke up.
"I-I'm sorry Taehyung, but I lied." I confessed.
"I never loved you. I was in search of love and you were just the lie I told myself to keep from feeling alone. But there's been this void in my heart, and I'm no longer using you to fill it." I continued.
"I know, I should've told you sooner. I know, I shouldn't of done such a cruel thing to you. I know, I'm a heartless asshole. I know a million apologies wouldn't replace the pain I've caused you, but I'm really, really sorry Taehyung. I truly am." I sincerely stated, feeling like a literal piece of crap for committing such an atrocious act.
Taehyung continued to stand there completely wordless, as if his heart was brutally ripped out of his chest and was ferociously crushed into a million pieces.
Although a dark shadow displayed on his face, I clearly saw a single tear trickle down his cheek and brightly glisten like a shimmering star.
My heart throbbed.
Knowing my incapability of loving him back was the cause of his grimace overwhelmed me with bitter guilt.
"Seoyeon, I fell in love with your words. But unfortunately, you were a good liar." He grievously stated.
"I don't ever want to see you, talk to you, or even deal with you anymore. Goodbye, Choi Seoyeon." Taehyung honestly said as he gave me one last look in the eye, then dejectedly turned around to leave.
Unintentionally, I noticed myself tug onto the edge of his shirt and immediately stop him in his footsteps, preventing him from leaving my side.
"Please don't leave... I need you..." I earnestly pleaded, my hot tears of agony starting to trickle down both sides of my cheeks as I hopelessly stared at his back.
"Please.... Please dont say that..." Taehyung begged in a decrepit tone.
"Because I know you don't fucking mean it."
With his broad shoulders quivering as he sobbed, he gloomily walked away from me as I silently watched his large figure gradually disappear from my sight.
The sky was now dyed in the mingled colors of charcoal and graphite grey with rainy clouds beginning to hover over me, matching with my afflicted, sorrowful heart.
