Green-Eyed

Preparing myself for the next competition, I casually took a sip from my water bottle to hydrate myself.

Suddenly, a loud scream echoed through the entire gym, followed by the sounds of hasty footsteps rushing toward the direction of where the scream came from.

Hurriedly running toward the scene, I attempted to take a look at what happened from the slight openings in between the numbers of people crowding over the incident.

My heart literally dropped at the sight of my best friend on the ground, painfully holding onto her right ankle with tears running down her face.

"Yerim!" I anxiously shouted, immediately pushing my way in through the crowd.

Rushing to her side, I got a clearer view of her injured ankle, slightly turning purple as it began to bruise.

"W-What happened...?" I worriedly asked with teary eyes, my heart throbbing at the sight of my best friend greatly suffering and at the fact that I wasn't there to protect her.

Noticing a basketball slowly rolling on the ground right next to Yerim, I came to a realization of what actually happened.

"I-I'm sorry..." I heard someone fearfully mutter, causing me to gradually turn my head to see who it was.

There stood Hyeona, her hands quivering with a frightened expression visible on her face.

"I-I didnt mean to hit her that hard..." She confessed, obviously regretful and overwhelmed by guilt for the trouble she had caused.

Rage instantly combusting inside of me, I immediately stood up with my fists tightly clenched as I x-marked a spot right on her face to punch.

But suddenly, I felt a gentle grip on my leg that stopped me in my footsteps.

Looking back, I noticed Yerim holding onto me with her trembling hand and her teary eyes pleadingly looking up at me.

"D-Dont..." She muttered, attempting to prevent me from getting taken away by my uncontrollable anger and being involved in any avoidable dilemmas.

Although I really wanted to teach this heartless whore a lesson, I obediently listened to my best friend and endured my anger.

"Hold on Yerim, I'll go call the-"

But before I could rush to get the teacher, a relatively tall figure suddenly stepped out of the crowd.

Shifting my attention, my eyes grew large at the sight of Jungkook approaching Yerim's side.

Suddenly, he swiftly picked her off of the floor in bridal style, causing my heart to slightly sting for some apparent reason.

"Don't worry, I'll take her to the nurse." Jungkook calmly assured me, walking away as he headed out of the gym with Yerim secured in his arms.

As if someone had ferociously stabbed me right in my chest, my heart ached.

Why am I so hurt right now?

Why do I feel so envious of Yerim?

I shouldn't be jealous of her, I should be worried about her to death as her friend.

Yerim should be my priority right now, not my stupid feelings for Jungkook.

What the hell is wrong with me?

~ Yerim's POV ~

Being carried by Jungkook in his arms toward the nurse's office, I couldn't help but blush from how my right shoulder tightly pressed against his muscular chest.

As my body subtly moved up and down with every step he took, I noticed his biceps slightly stiffen.

Guessing his arms were tiring due to my heavy weight, I felt terrible.

"I-I'm so sorry..." I apologized, causing Jungkook to look at me in utter confusion.

"For what?" He asked.

"For having you carry my heavy weight all the way to the nurse..." I sheepishly muttered as I bashfully shifted my gaze down to my hands.

My remark caused him to burst into a small laughter as he shook his head in denial.

"Don't worry Yerim, you're not heavy at all." He kindly assured.

Although it was clearly obvious that he was struggling, he still lied about being totally fine in order to prevent my feelings from getting hurt.

Wow, I never knew Jungkook was such a nice guy.

Often seeing his callous behavior toward Seoyeon, I guessed he was a rather immature and vile person.

Finally reaching our destination, he entered the nurse's office, walked over to the bed, and gently placed me down on the edge of it.

"Where the hell is the nurse?" He mumbled under his breathe as he eagerly looked around the room, but the nurse was nowhere to be found.

"Ah, it's okay Jungkook. I think my leg feels a little better now." I assured so he wouldn't have to waste his time here and he could return to class.

"Are you sure? Can you stand?" He worriedly asked as he walked back to my side.

"I think so." I said, placing both of my hands on the bed sheets as I attempted to stand up.

"Wait, Yerim." Jungkook anxiously said, causing me to halt in my position and look up at him.

Suddenly sticking out his brawny hand towards me, he offered me his hand as if he was a courteous prince inviting a princess to dance with him.

"Hold my hand." He said, his great generosity causing my heart to slightly flutter.

"T-Thanks..." I shyly muttered, timidly placing my relatively small hand on top of his.

With his support, I forced myself to stand up from the bed and attempted to maintain my balance.

But a severe stinging pain instantly attacked my injured ankle, causing me to let out a quick scream and lose a hold of my stability.

"Yerim!" Jungkook shouted as he tried to catch me, but ended up forcefully falling onto the bed with me.

My eyes grew large at the sight of his alluring face only a few inches away from mine, his hands on both sides of my head which prevented him from putting all of his weight on me.

I madly blushed at the extremely uncomfortable position I was in, where his large body was hovering over mine with me trapped in between his arms.

I noticed Jungkook's face brightly redden as well, building a rather awkward, silent atmosphere in between us.

"S-Sorry!" We both shouted in sync, hurriedly separating from each other as we reluctantly shifted our gaze away from one another.

Our faces were immensely flushed from the utterly embarrassing incident that had just occurred.

I want to die.

I literally wanted to dig up a deep, underground hole and bury myself in it in order to escape from this unbearably awkward situation.

"Ahhh I'm really sorry!" Jungkook suddenly shouted as he broke the silence, apologetically giving me a 90 degree bow with the tip of his ears appearing extremely red.

"Yerim, you can kick me in the ass if you want. I'm just so, so sorry." He said as he raised his head, putting his hands together in prayer form as he pleaded for forgiveness.

Staring at him utter astonishment, I bursted into laughter at his innocent behavior.

"I'm not going to kick your ass Jungkook. It was my fault anyways." I assured, causing his expression to instantly transform into a rather relieved one.

"Thank god you're not mad. I thought you were going to kill me." He said with his hand placed on his chest.

"Am I that scary?" I confusedly asked him.

"Hell yeah. You always look like a damn murderer whenever you fight back to Hyeona." He teased, making me gasp in great offense and fiercely throw a pillow at him for his rude remark.

Jungkook swiftly dodged it, laughing his ass off with his witch-like laughter.

"I hate you." I said, angrily pouting as I looked away from him with my arms folded.

"Awe Yerim~ Don't be like that~" He cutely pleaded, waddling closer toward me with small baby steps.

Completely ignoring him, I continued to stay in my position with my face turned away from him.

"Hey, you can't ignore me forever since I'm going to have to help you treat your leg you know." He mockingly stated.

"Psh, I can do it myself." I protested as I shot a deadly glare at him.

Hearing my remark, Jungkook stared at me in utter disbelief, looking at me with that 'are you kidding me?' expression visible on his face.

"Yerim, do you seriously think you can stand after what just happened?" He asked.

"I don't need your help." I stated as I playfully stuck out my tongue at him.

"Stop acting like you're tough you loser." He taunted.

"L-LOSER?!" I shouted in anger, causing him to let out a laugh as he brightly smiled at me.

"You're lucky I'm injured. If I wasn't, I would've beaten the hell out of you already." I stated, rolling my eyes at him.

"I like the vulnerable Yerim better." He teased, making my heart slightly flutter from his cute remark.

"Wait here, I'll go get the first aid kit." Jungkook said, hurriedly rushing to the cabinets where all the materials were located.

Watching him eagerly search for the kit for me, the corners of my mouth unintentionally curled up for some apparent reason.

Jungkook's so different from other guys.

His comforting nature, natural humor, selfless charm, everything about him was just amazing.

No wonder why Seoyeon's so head over heels for him.

I mean, I would be too.
