Surah At-Taubah, Verse 15:
وَيُذْهِبْ غَيْظَ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ

And remove the rage of their hearts; and Allah turns (mercifully) to whom He pleases, and Allah is Knowing, Wise.

"Mami its something urgent that needs me, I have to go won't take long"

I said hastily exiting the house to attend to the heart gladdening call I just received which put me in a state of euphoria and at the same time tensed at what I might discover.

"Hello dude, care to come down at my place by 4:00pm"

I said while driving back home to catch up on missed time, which has being quite a while I relished that ever since that incident happened making me close out on everyone with the exception of Faruk,who always tolerated my moods and never left me be despite my attitude.

The words I heard when I received a call some hours ago is one of the best if not the best news I've gotten ever and going to the source has being the best decision I've ever made which brought me unimaginable joy, peace and happiness that I have lost for the past one year and the state I was in made me changed my decision by gracing the reception I intended ditching which was holding on my behalf hence my call to Faruk, seizing that opportunity to make up for my actions towards them and to help me wade off those relatives that would gush all over one and keep matching you up endlessly with their girls who keep smiling like loons and I never care to give them a second glance and as clueless or rather dumb as they are of 'the not interested hint' I do give them they keep clinging to me on any encounter giving me headaches, for only if they know, nobody is an option to me and a substitute of her's.

"Navid Aliyu Mafa? Faruk questioned with a tone full of surprise

"One and only" I answered chuckling

"Wait, am wide awake so this ain't a dream,  but you inviting me over to keep you company is a shock to me because if I could clearly remember you avoid us like a plague

"Ohh touché one would assume I am mean"

"Well that you are"

"Guys ain't smiling right? And oh yea I want you to help me invite Habib and Umar over, couldn't call them myself because I know to them too I've being a..a..."I stuttered on lack of word to describe my attitude.

"A jerk is the word you are looking for, you've being nothing less than a jerk and snob to everyone and not everyone is like you_you know, they will surely honour the invitation and for the record Mami invited me earlier so dont think I came for your sake"he ended.

"Whatever" I said with an eye roll as if he could see me and terminated the call.

When my family's name is mentioned then going extra mile and surprises should always qualify them for I was nothing short of stunned at the extremely grand reception they aforementioned to me to be a small affair and considering the number and personality of guest there,  you could tell it was far from that.

An euphoric feeling so immensed settled in me when I came back to meet Yaya Abdul right before the party began and it was only then I realized how much I've missed him since our relationship has also being strained over the time cutting down our communication. Proving more to his amazing personality he had engulfed me in a brotherly hug which took longer than the usual, each of us internally relishing the moment and not wanting to let go. He had being all sweet on me expressing how proud and impressed he was on my success and bringing up conversations upon conversations like old times but as much as I tried acting like before, something kept holding me back leaving me giving off forced smiles and nods which didn't go unnoticed by my family members in the room_well they turned me into that right?

"Are you sure the step you are taking is the best, considering what happened before"

"Exactly my thought"

Umar finished with concern written on his face while I came out to see them off after the reception, which I would have regret if I had missed out tracing to the wonderful time I had with my guys we haven't had in ages and grateful I was for they all acted like I never drifted apart from them_loudly I can say that I've being blessed to be lucky in the department of friends.

"Why do you guys choose to keep asking me that horrid question repeatedly" I retorted slightly irritated.

"I love Meera so much and all hell should break loose cause am never letting her go again. I failed her before by being a coward and am not stupid to loose her after I've just found her, do you all know the time and resources I used to look for her? Well why am I even wasting my time,  am not out to convince anyone about her and nobody would make me waver regarding her, marrying her is final"

I finally finished heaving cause she is a sensitive topic I can't help but lash out on anyone.

"We are not objecting, just wanting to make sure you are very much okay with your decision, and we are always by your side no matter the decision you choose to make" Faruk said calmly patting my shoulder.

"You are breaking it out tonight right?

"Yes" I answered determined

"Well I should say goodluck with that cause you need all the luck in the world by your side" Umar said chuckling

"Thanks so much guys, I appreciate"

"Ooh someone's getting mushy, anyways what are dudes for" Aliyu said winking as they fitted into the car driving out our gate swiftly.

Going back into the house I brought out my phone while I was walking and I could say I was quite engrossed in it when I bumped into something or rather someone and when I looked up I stared into the best shade of brown doe eyes I have never seen which radiates a sparkle that emphasizes more of its outstanding beauty. I felt time went still but I was immediately brought back to reality at the sharp glare I was receiving from the mysterious owner of the eyes.

"Watch where you are going girl" I said while out from my earlier trance regaining my composure.

"What a nerve, you bumped into me creating this mess" she barked indicating to the fruits which lay splattered on the tile, "and you pose the audacity to say such, oh lord, and here I was thinking you are opening your mouth to apologize" she finished exasperated.

"Woah easy there tigress, apology_Never" I said smirking clearly earning pleasure from her fury.

"Oh Ya Navid here you are, dad's asking for you in his study" Haneefa chirped but quiten down when she noticed something beside me.

"Ya Allah, Zaitun what happened? Hany asked gesturing to the mess on the floor and the fiery lady eyed me before saying it slipped off her grasp much to my wonder.

So she's got some brains I thought and I couldn't deny the feeling of guilt creeping in me cause I knew I was at fault for that, but wait Zaitun as in the one Mami mentioned, then if she is Zaitun who was the one who tried clinging to me and unnecessarily trying to gain my attention at the party and not to forget she mentioned being my dad's friend's daughter? Well whatever I care less I groaned internally as I turned the door knob to my father's study.

I wonder what hesitations dad is habouring while standing, staring intently outside the glass wall for the past 15 minutes I've being in here which made me thought just maybe he wanted apologizing and I immediately thought it is a good opportunity to vocalize my decision.

" I want you to get married"

We both said simultaneously and shockingly looked at each other, either of us clearly not anticipating what the other just said, so much for me thinking he was
reminiscing.

"To who" I asked through gritted teeth

"Zaituni, the girl your mum mentioned and to whom were you planning on if I may ask"

"Dad its Ameera, the same girl you separated me from but this time around am sorry to say you people can't stop me, for my life is empty and meaningless without her"
