As you watch Nightmare standing before you, his new intimidating body towering over everyone, you feel a mixture of fear and determination welling up within you. Your mind races, trying to formulate a plan to take down this invincible asshole once and for all. You however always come to a road block. Looking at everyone, Yang struggling to move her left arm, Pyrrha laying on Jaune's lap as they are both sitting in her blood and seeing smoke loom in the air from the crashed airship feels you with more unease as he had done all this with a simple clap of his hands.

...Could you really win...?

Ike: Fucker!

Ike fires a wave of purple flames at Nightmare which engulfs his entire body completely. Not letting Ike take the glory for himself. Star, Ironwood, Coco, Ruby, Weiss, Blake and yourself open fire at him too. Goodwitch, with fury in her eyes hurls large boulders of cement at him. As soon as clicking is heard from everyone, Ike stops his onslaught of flames. Everyone looks on in the smoke as a shadowy figure in the smoke lingers. Everyone's eyes widen as they see Nightmare emerge from the smoke, unharmed.

He mockingly brushes his left shoulder and rustles his dragon wings.

Nightmare: You still have hope? Amusing...

You narrow your eyes and charge at him. He doesn't move but his red eyes do follow you as you slide under his legs and try to stab into his back, only for your Vulcan's to bounce back.

Ike follows your lead and runs towards him, firing purple flames at him.

Ike grits his teeth as his focus becomes more intense. His focus is suddenly broken as he notices a shadow walk through his flames, towards him. Nightmare then peaks his head out and backhands Ike causing the blonde to fly back while spinning in the air.

Nightmare lets out a grunt as he is shot in the back of the head by you. He looks at you as he uses his left claw-like hand to block your remaining shots. As you reload, he grabs a nearby car and hurls it towards you. Your eyes widen as the wrecked vehicle comes rapidly towards you. Thankfully, Bianca tackles you down to the ground then looks at Nightmare in anger.

Nightmare is then shot at again by everyone except Yang and team JNPR, causing him to block his head again with his left hand as he peaks through the cracks and analysis the remaining foes until his eyes land on Star who immediately approaches him rapidly before slicing at his hand. Nightmare looks at his left hand to see a small cut in it. He hums with intrigue as Star then leaps at him again with his sabers raised. Nightmare however no-look catches the boy of light and darkness, holding his head tightly while still looking at the cut which begins healing.

Nightmare: What should I call this, little light?

He asks as he turns his head to Star who only responds by stretching out his leg as far as it can go in an attempt to kick the mutated seeker.

Nightmare: I was thinking Lanrete...but Mythos sounds better...then again, that's just based on my taste and interest in other mythologies.

Nightmare raises his free hand and points his index at Star and inches it towards his eye. Star watches and struggles more as the clawed finger comes closer, only for Coco to come from above and slam her bag into Nightmare's head, only for it to do nothing as he continues to inch closer to Star's eye.

Suddenly, a purple bubble surrounds the two as Ike wraps his chains around Nightmare's arm and those who were still willing to fight, also jump onto Nightmare's arm in an attempt to pull his claw away from Star. Bianca looks between Nightmare and Star before going for a gamble by drawing her sword and slicing at Nightmare's finger. Surprisingly, the finger does fall to the floor causing a light of hope to come to her eyes, which slowly dies as Nightmare's finger just instantly regenerates.

Nightmare lets out a small chuckle as everyone's attempt to pull his arm away failed.

Nightmare: Come on little light, where is it...?

Nightmare taunts in which Star spits on his forehead. The mutant seeker looks over at Goodwitch then at Pyrrha and smirks. He swipes his arm knocking everyone off except for Ike, whose chains he still had wrapped around his arm. Nightmare grabs onto the chains and tosses Ike at Goodwitch causing the two blonds to collide. He then tosses Star towards Pyrrha and watches him get back up onto his knees.

Star shook his head and grit his teeth. Suddenly, a faint heartbeat graces his ears as turns to the source, Pyrrha.

Pyrrha: J-Jaune...

Jaune, in tears, holds his hoodie on the gaping wound in her chest.

Jaune: Don't talk Pyrrha...please just save your strength.

He orders her. Pyrrha smiles weakly and holds up her hand. Jaune looks at her hand then at her face. You look at them from afar, staying on the ground as you see Pyrrha's arm go limp.

Pyrrha: I...I love-

Pyrrha's eyes widen as she gasps and her whole body goes limp and her eyes roll back as blood flows out her mouth.

Jaune: P-Pyrrha?

He shakes her lightly but gets no response.

Jaune: Pyrrha!

Jaune yells out. Ren and Nora stare at the body of their now deceased friend as the blond leader weeps.

Star looks at them then at Nightmare. His shocked face turns into one of pure anger as he stands up. Nightmare hums enthusiastically as you try to stab him again, only for him to dodge the stab then grab you by the neck and face you towards Star.

Nightmare: Ready to see what I used to be afraid of...?

He questions as grabs your chin to make sure you watch Star. You watch as Star's entire left eye turns yellow and his right eye turns completely white as his black and white wings sprout causing his top to rip off exposing his upper torso. White and black lightning emits from his body, striking the ground in front of him all the way towards Nightmare and yourself. You watch as Star's skin colour goes from white to light grey and the left part of his hair turns black while the right part turns white.

Everyone looks at Star as his black and white aura seemed to flare out of control, as if they were in a constant battle for dominance.

Ike: Star, don't!!

Ike yells out while reaching out towards Star. However, Star doesn't listen as he blinks out of existence as a sudden force heads towards Nightmare. The sonic boom from the force shatters everyone car and building window it passes. Nightmare tosses you away and clenches his hands tightly as he holds his arms out.

Nightmare: Bring it.

The force and Nightmare impact against one another causing an earthquake as the sound of the impact sounds like an explosion. As a dust cloud surrounds Nightmare.

Everyone surrounding Nightmare is blown away, some into buildings, some against cars and others were blown several metres away. Bianca and yourself look at the dust cloud and go wide eyed at the scene. Star had his fist against Nightmare's stomach. The boy looked up at the towering man as Nightmare just let out an unimpressed grunt, unfazed by the attempted gut punch.

Star grinds his teeth together hard and starts rapidly punching Nightmare in the stomach. Nightmare stands there menacingly as he tanks every punch thrown at him. The impact from the punches causes an earthquake that shakes the entire city, causing cracks and some buildings to shake violently to the point it looks as if they'll come down any minute.

Ike: Star! Stop! You'll destroy the entire city!

Ike calls out as he tries to get close but finds himself getting pushed away from the shockwaves of each colliding fist Star slams into Nightmare's upper torso.

Star does stop but keeps his right fist implanted into Nightmare's stomach. The 'fallen angel' looks up at Nightmare with wide eyes and backs away slightly. Nightmare taps his stomach while keeping his eyes locked onto Star.

Nightmare: Again...

He taunts. Ike quickly runs at Star however is blown back as Star does a battle cry and starts punching again. Nightmare sighs and quickly catches Star's hands and pulls him close.

Nightmare: I'm disappointed....

He states as Star then delivers a headbutt to Nightmare, only to concuss himself. Nightmare laughs clearly amused by the last ditch effort before grabbing onto Star tightly and flying up into the air with him.

Star struggles managing to get his right hand free. With his now free hand, he summons one of his sabers and starts rapidly stabbing into Nightmare's chest.

Star: DIE! JUST FUCKING DIE!

He shouts. Meanwhile on the ground, Bianca, Ike and yourself regroup and look up into the sky. You see the clouds above dispersing due to more blows being exchanged by the two.

(Y/n): Ike, he can win like that right?

You ask with panic in your voice.

Ike: Yeah...he did last time. It's just a matter of if he beats him fast enough.

Bianca looks at the blond.

Bianca: Why? What happens if he doesn't?!

She asks in a worried tone. Ike looks down before looking at the both of you.

Ike: When in that form...The darkness and light within Star are in constant odds. You saw the aura for yourselves, it's unstable.

Blake hears this and comes next to Ike.

Blake: Are you saying he could die if he stays like that for too long...?!

She asks in a worried tone. To her relief Ike shook his head, denying her worries.

Ike: No...it's more like....he becomes a rabid animal. He doesn't know friend or foe. He'll perceive anything as a threat and attack.

This has everyone worried. Everyone was conflicted as Star seemed to be the only one to stand up to Nightmare. If he wins he had better finish the fight quickly. However with how the battle has played out so far, he may not have the time he needs to revert. The only hope they have is Ike being able to calm him down...or Nightmare to win...

Yang: (Y/n)....

You hear Yang call you and look to see her walking towards you weakly. You see her left arm dripping with blood and still limp. You fast walk to her.

(Y/n): Yang?

She collapses into you as you take ahold of her. Bianca comes to her and looks at her arm.

Bianca: Are you okay, Yang?

She asks in concern. Yang shook her head and looks at her arm.

Yang: I-I can't move my left arm...

You look at her arm and then at Ike.

(Y/n): Ike, come here.

Ike rushes over and looks at Yang then at her arm. Ozpin rushes over and looks at his students.

Ozpin: Is everything okay Miss Xiao Long?

He asks. Yang shook her head.

Yang: I-I can't even move a finger...

Ike ignites a small flame on his finger and puts it on her arm.

Ike: Do you feel that burning?

Yang looks at the burn mark Ike left and shook her head.

Yang: No...

Ike shoots a concerned glare at Ozpin who nods and turns to Ironwood.

Ozpin: James! I need one of your medics here now!

The general nods and calls some of his medics. Suddenly, a loud crash is heard and everyone looks to see Star on his front with Nightmare holding him down on the ground with just his right foot.

Nightmare: Pathetic to think that I was afraid of this form the first time I saw it.

He states as he grabs onto Star's wings.

Nightmare: Now I have nothing left to fear.

Star shoots a glare at him and speaks through his gritted teeth.

Star: Hehehe. You hypocrite. You said yourself that without fear, life is meaningless. If that's the case, then kill yourself.

Star says causing Nightmare to growl and start pulling on Star's wings, causing the boy to yell in pain.

Ike: No!

Ike charges towards Nightmare with Bianca and yourself in tow. Coco and Velvet exchange glances and nod to one another. Coco's bag transforms into its minigun form while Velvet has a blue see-through version of Coco's minigun. The two open fire but the bullets bounce off of Nightmare as he continues pulling on Star's wings. Even ignoring Ike's purple flaming right hook.

Nightmare: I wanted more of a challenge out of you, little light. To end it here is disappointing....

Suddenly, a paper talisman drops onto Star as Bianca teleports to Star and grabs ahold of him.

Bianca: Ike! (Y/n)!

She tells as you cut off Nightmare's fingers on his right hand while Ike wraps his purple-flamed chains around the fingers on Nightmare's left hand and pulls. This act frees Star as Bianca then teleports away back to the talisman she left next to Yang.

Bianca: Star, I need you to relax now.

Star looks at her then back at Nightmare.

Star: N-No. I can't leave it like th-

Star's aura suddenly flares more out of control which causes him to yell and hold his head.

Bianca: Hey. It's okay. Just...take it easy.

Her soothing words seem to reach Star as he takes a deep breath and retracts his wings as his sleeveless hoodie returns to cover his upper body. Bianca looks at Star as the boy's eyes return to normal also and he stares back at her with tears in his eyes.

Star: I-I'm sorry....

Star says as he then looks around and notices the broken glass and cracked buildings.

Meanwhile, you back flip away from Nightmare as he swipes at you with his claws.

Nightmare: Maybe I'll get more of a kick out of you than the little light.

You jump over him and latch onto his back, stabbing rapidly into his shoulders as he tries to shake you off.

Nightmare: Maybe a part two of that darkness inside you, or that odd light.

He reaches behind and manages to grab you. He throws you at a car which explodes.

Bianca: (Y/n)!

Bianca yells out as she gets up onto her feet again and sprints towards Nightmare with her sword drawn.

Nightmare pays little attention to her as he watches the fire. Suddenly, a fist made of fire springs from the flames and strikes Nightmare in the face. Nightmare narrows his eyes as he looks at the fire to see your silhouette. You had a red aura surrounding you as. You had your open hand reached out towards him as your (E/c) eyes had turned red.

Nightmare: Jasper...

Jasper (as you): You're going to pay for what you've done...

He says as his aura flares causing more flame hands to appear as well as hands made from the ground. He orders them forward as they begin delivering a barrage of punches. The elemental hands however crumble and disperse as they have no effect. A growl is heard from your mouth as your eyes and aura turn from red to orange as fire, wind and stone golems form and charge towards Nightmare.

Nightmare breaks into a jog as he swipes away the flame golems, then smashes two stone golems together before crushing the head of the last stone golem. He looks at the wind golems and decides to run through them. The wind golems however latch onto Nightmare and begin to cut into him.

Blood trickles out of your nose and your teeth grit hard.

(Y/n): Jasper, he's coming!

Jasper (as you): I know! I-I can't keep my concentration up...if I had my body back, I'd-

Your eyes widen as Nightmare was now in front of you with his claw raised.

Jasper (as you): Oh god.

Nightmare swings down on you, however Bianca grabs hold of you and teleports back to the others.

Nightmare's eyes widen slightly as Bianca and yourself lay on the ground. You start to breathe heavily as if you saw your life flash before your eyes.

(Y/n): Fuck that was close.

You admit. You pick yourself up and look at Nightmare in the distance.

Jasper (as you): No shit.

You turn to Bianca.

Jasper (as you): Nice save.

You compliment Bianca only to see her gasping and leaning on her side.

Jasper (as you): Bianca?

Bianca timidly looks at you as you stare at her confused then back at Nightmare. You see him looking at his hand as he turns towards everyone.

He had blood splattered all over his claws. Panicked at the sight, you immediately took over again.

Jasper: What- (Y/n)!

You blocked him out as you crawled over to Bianca. Star crawls over too as you grab into Bianca's shoulder.

(Y/n): Star, help me here.

You say with your tone in a mix of fear, concern and panic. Star nods and helps you push Bianca onto her back.

Everyone looks in horror as Bianca had a chunk taken out of her side. She looked at you in fear and pain as her wound spilled blood onto the concrete.

Ironwood: Bianca!

He runs over to the three of you and hovers over her. You pulled off your (f/c) jacket and pressed it on the wound.

(Y/n): Star, I'm going to need your healing touch here.

You say. Star looks at you then back at Bianca. You notice his silence and look at him.

(Y/n): Star! Did you hear me?!

You shout causing the boy to flinch as he looks at his hands that glow bright. Thinking he got the message, you remove the jacket and wait for him to heal her.

He however doesn't.

(Y/n): The fuck are you doing?!

You yelled as Star just stares at the wound.

Star: I...I-I can't.

Ironwood grabs Star by the shoulders and makes the boy face him.

Ironwood: What do you mean you can't?!

Ike comes next to Ironwood and frees Star from him.

Ike: Hey! Stop it! He can't heal her!

Ike warns causing you and Ironwood to look at the two brothers. Your heart beats fast as you cover the wound again and look at Star.

(Y/m): What do you mean you can't...?

At this point, Ruby takes notice of Nightmare approaching the group once again.

Ruby: Guys...Nightmare's coming back!

She says. Team CFVY, Weiss, Blake, Winter, the professors, Ozpin and the remaining members of JNPR stand ready. Some reluctant to go back into battle against this monster.

Star: I-I can never heal a wound THIS severe.

(Y/n): BULLSHIT! You've healed yourself from worse injuries than this!

You counter back. This causes Ike to jump in.

Ike: That's because he's half seeker, (Y/n)! Seekers like Nightmare have a built in regenerative system in their bodies. As long as the heart and the brain are functioning then they can regrow missing or punctured organs or limbs. When it's healing from and angel...all they can do it repair broken pieces of a person. Scratches, broken bones hell even blindness...as long as all the pieces are present...you can be saved.

Ike explains. This causes you to look back at Nightmare who chuckles and pulls down his red scarf, exposing his grotesque and deformed mouth to the naked eye as he then consumes the chunk he ripped off of Bianca. This caused your blood to boil as you were ready to get back up and fight. Bianca grabs you however, very tightly. You look at her as she looks at you with tears in her eyes.

Bianca: B-Baby....I-I failed....

You look at her confused and take her hand in yours.

(Y/n): Failed...? No you didn't fail Bianca...

Tears fall from the corner of your eyes as you look at her saddened state. She reaches up to your cheek and strokes it. Her blood staining your skin.

Bianca: Maybe not with you....but....I failed m-my team....

She says. She then looks at the sky and smiles.

Bianca: I'm sorry I was reckless....Ash. I'm sorry I wasn't thinking clearly....Matilda. I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough...Riley.

She then looks at you and kisses her free hand and plants it on your cheek.

Bianca: I'm sorry....my love.

You stare at her as your tears began to rapidly fall onto Bianca's arm. You hold onto her hand tightly as she lets out one last breath and closes her eyes. Your eyes stay wide as you feel the strength in her arm fade.

Bianca is gone.

Nightmare: I warned her. Just like I warn everyone. But does anyone listen? No.

Nightmare's words echo in everyone's mind, yours included as you just sit there, staring into nothing as your brain tries to register current events.

Nightmare: Does it boil your blood, (Y/n)? Are you going to foolishly throw your life away to avenge her and suffer the same fate.

Ruby looks back at Bianca and Pyrrha's body, then at Yang who was being taken away. She then turns to Nightmare as he approaches closer.

Nightmare: All you, the drunk and the bastard child had to do was come with me...but no. Like the foolish Faunas girl, you wanted to be the hero that puts things right. To defeat the Villain and win a medal or a monument or some useless shit.

Everyone seems to step back slightly unaware of what to do.

Nightmare: Unfortunately, that is not how this story ends.

Nightmare stops and leans forward slightly and spreads his arms out with his claws ready.

Nightmare: No heroes, just bodies. No kingdoms, just ruins. No light, just dark....I am the route to which all roads end.

Star and Ike snap onto him and spring forward to defend everyone as Nightmare had lunged forward.

Time seemed to slow down as you couldn't take the stress of the situation caused your vision to completely darken. Ike and Star ready themselves, not noticing Ruby who had clenched her fists, and then suddenly flung her arms out to the sides, beginning to levitate slightly off the ground as she puffs her upper torso out as a B
brilliant white light flows from her eyes as she screams at Nightmare.

Ruby: NOOOOO!!!!

Nightmare's eyes widen as the white light completely envelops him while the others cover their eyes and back away. Meanwhile, you sit there oblivious to what was transpiring as Bianca's dead body was the only thing burnt into your mind.

As I have just finished writing this, I have just found out 4 hours ago that James Earl Jones (voice of darth vader) has passed away.

Rest in peace you iconic legend. May the force be with you.
