Just a bunny
3rd POV
Because of the attack at the USJ, school was shut down for the remainder of the week for investigation.
Throughout the week, Gon and Killua played video games, trained and hung out. On the 3rd day of their unexpected vacation, Bisky got a phone call from the school. "Hello?"
Principal Nedzu spoke in a cheery voice. "Hello! I hope you are doing well. The faculty and I were amazed at your strength portrayed at the USJ that we were wondering if you would consider working as an assistant or co-teacher with Allmight for foundational Hero studies?"
Bisky's jaw dropped.
Killua and gon came out of the backyard from playing catch while doing handstands. Killua saw her stunned expression and asked, "Who's that?"
She slowly turned to him, still in shock. "I'm getting a job offer from UA..."
Killua's eyes widened.
"Are you free for an interview tomorrow at noon?" Nedzu asked, hearing her amazed voice when speaking to the person at her house.
"Yes! I'm free for the interview." She said hurriedly.
"Good! Can you prepare a combat lesson to show me on that day?"
"Sure. Will I be allowed to bring Killua and gon to work as students?"
"That works for me."
"Alright. Thank you so much!"
"The pleasure is mine."
Bisky hung up and looked at Killua and gon with stars in her eyes. "I'm gonna get a job!!"
"Baba, you haven't even gone to the interview yet." Killua teased, knowing that he is making more money than her with his assassinations.
Bisky glared at the boy. "I know, but still! I'm tired of just sitting around all day. I have too much free time."
"You could have been making and selling stuff online or anything. You know were overdue on basically all our bills."
"Since when have I ever made something?"
"I don't know. You're a baba. Make a quilt or something. If you don't like that, then just sell your golden toilet."
"I will not sell it. I love it very much."
Gon intervened. "I found her asleep hugging it the other day."
Knock knock
Gon went to go see who was at the door entrance. They still need to fix it. Gon saw the detective from the other day in his tan coat. "Hello!" Gon said looking up at the taller man who was looking at the broken front door laying on the front lawn.
He turned his attention to the boy, "Hey there. I came by for your guy's interview of what happened at the USJ. Is that ok with you guys?" He asked. He didn't often go to the witness's house, but he wanted to get out of the office for a bit.
"Yeah. That ok." Gon said, walking inside and waving at him to follow. Gon pointed to the dining table saying, "You can take a seat there for a bit. " He turned to the living room. "Bisky! The detectives here!" Gon shouted. He knew Bisky was in the living room with him when the detective knocked on the doorframe, but now she is not there. "That's weird." Gon looked around in confusion.
"I think she is upstairs," Killua said, taking a seat at the table. Gon went upstairs. He found her in her room, on her laptop. "What are you doing?"
On her research of quirks, she scrolled down seeing a section about the mutant type quirk. "If I'm going to teach kids combat, then I need to know about quirks better. They need to know how to use everything that they have. Not just punches and right now that all I can teach."
Gon sighed. "Well, can you bring that downstairs at least? The detectives there and I think it's not normal for kids to be talking to an adult from the police force alone in the dining room."
"Oh! I didn't know that. How interesting." Bisky said looking at a diagram of someone with a tail. She slowly got up, still staring at her laptop, and started following gon downstairs.
"Oh, he found her," Killua said, putting 4 water bottles down on the table.
Gon took his seat at the table. Bisky looked up from her laptop at the detective. "Are you interviewing up at the same time or can I go after them?"
"I'll talk to them first." He answered politely. "Ok." He looked at the two boys sitting across from him. "First of all, are you guys doing ok after the whole incident?"
"Yeah we're doing pretty good," Killua answered simply as gon nodded in agreement.
"That's good to hear. What happened at the USJ, Killua?" He asked.
Killua told him what happened when the league got there, how gon and he helped Aizawa defend because he was outnumbered and split up to go help out the other kids in the different zones before coming back and saving Aizawa from the Nomu at the water fountain.
The detective asked gon the same question and he answered the same thing.
Tsukauchi saw nothing suspicious or odd in their statement. He then continued, "Who were the two people you met at the USJ? The redhead with paint on his face and the one with long black hair."
"They were people we did not want to see again." Gon answered.
"Where did you see them before?" Tsukauchi asked.
"We encountered them when we were traveling around before we moved here." Gon answered for Killua.
Killua then added, "There was a villain with a quirk called Enemy Memory. He chooses a target and summons their greatest enemy. He said that the stronger the memory is of them, the stronger they are. It seemed to me like he did not have control of the enemies. He depends on the fact that they are enemies."
"If they were your enemies, then why did they not attack?"
"The relationship is more complicated than that. The one with black hair does more psychological damage than anything. That is what I remembered, so that is the only way he attacked me."
Tsukauchi processed the statement slowly. 'If they Memory Villian only summons what his enemies remember, then was Killua psychologically traumatized by this person?' He thought with concern for the silver-haired boy.
He was about to ask him about it but gon spoke up first. "For Hisoka, the redhead, he wants to fight me but not yet. He's waiting."
Tsukauchi scrunched his eyebrows in confusion and concern. "And how do you feel about that?" He had concerns about both of these kid's mental state. Gon has a creepy man interested in him some way or another and Killua's mental state is unknown and might have been abused psychologically.
"Its kinda weird but it's not like he wants to kill me or anything. If he did, he would have done it a long time ago." Gon said plainly.
Killua put his hand against his face, so gon couldn't see it. Killua then mouthed out the words to Tsukauchi "He's a pedophile."
Killua took his hand away from his face and leaned back in the chair. "Don't worry though. He can't get to us from here and I doubt he will make a move besides staring at our butt again."
"AGAIN?!?!" Tsukauchi slammed his hands down on the table, standing up abruptly in extreme concern.
"Crap." Killua's eyes widened at his mistake, looking back at the detective tentatively.
---
After many concerns and reassurance that they did not get raped by a clown, Tsukauchi left with a bit more knowledge about this Enemy Memory villain and about the Nomu.
Killua slumped down on the couch next to Gon. "What do you want to do now?" He asked letting his head rest on the top of the couch so he was looking at the ceiling while still sitting upright.
Gon thought for a minute until his phone rung. He picked it up, looking at the Caller ID. "Its Izuku." He said in slight surprise. Killua nodded and looked at the ceiling's texture. He found a bear and a potato so far.
"Hello?" Gon asked.
"Hey! Are you and Killua busy today?" Izuku asked cheerfully.
"Not really. We just finished our interview with the detective from the other day and were wondering what else we could do today."
"Oh, great! Maybe you guys can come over to my house to hang out. My moms making dinner tonight if you want to stay for that too." Izuku offered. He hasn't had friends over in a while, so this was pretty nerve-wracking for him.
"Oh sure. I'll ask Killua." Gon put his bug phone away from his ear and turned to Killua. "Izuku's inviting us to his house to hang out and maybe eat dinner. You wanna go?"
"Sure. We have nothing else better to do." Killua said as he picked out an image of a duck on the popcorn ceiling.
Gon put the phone back up to his ear. "He said sure. Should we come over now?"
"Sure. I'll send you my location."
Gons phone dinged, showing a map with a pin on an apartment complex not that far from their house. Maybe a mile or two away. He tilted the screen to Killua so he could see it too.
"Alright, we will be there in a few minutes."
"Don't you live on the other side of town?" Izuku asked in shock. "I don't remember you guys having a car in your driveway and the bus doesn't come until 20 minutes later."
Killua shouted at Bisky that they were leaving and she just yelled, "Just don't get arrested!"
"Oh, yeah we're gonna run. See ya soon!" Gon hung up the phone, leaving a shocked Izuku.
"Let's go," Killua said jogging backward towards the nonexistent door. Gon followed him, putting his phone in his pocket.
As they ran down the street, a few houses away, they heard familiar yelling coming from a nice house followed by more screaming. Gon and Killua slowed down and looked through the open window from where they stood on the sidewalk.
They saw Bakugo stomping down the stairs, yelling at someone to the right. They could hear stomping coming from the person on the right. Out popped an ash blonde woman with spiky hair just like Bakugo.
"He looks just like his mom." Gon laughed.
The mom started yelling back at her son, grabbing him by the ear. "THIS IS THE LAST TIME I WILL REMIND YOU TO DO YOUR CHORES!! NOW GO DO THE DISHES WITHOUT EXPLODING THEM!"
"MOM! I NEED TO KEEP TRAINING! I DONT HAVE TIME FOR DISHES!!" He yelled as he was being pulled out of view.
"I see where he gets his aggressiveness from." Killua let out a small laugh.
A tired brunette man walked from the left of the window with a newspaper and an apple in hand. He seemed to sense someone looking at him, so he turned and saw Killua and gon looking at the window through the sidewalk. He sent a friendly wave and sweatdropped as his son started screaming in the background. He signed and put down his stuff as he tried to calm down his family.
"His family could be a comedy." Killua laughed and started jogging again with gon following close behind.
Killua POV
After a few minutes, we made it to Izuku's apartment complex. Instead of using the stairs, we both hopped up to his upper-level floor from the sidewalk. We landed softly, so the rest of the residents did not worry about the loud noise it would make. Gon knocked on Izuku's door. Hm... a front door. They are underrated. It was nice to have one.
I heard thumping inside the house, followed by an "I'll get it, mom!" The door handle jiggled and it opened, revealing Izuku in a shirt that said t-shirt.
"You guys are fast." He smiled and moved out of the way, so we could step inside.
"Thank you?" I really don't know what I'm supposed to say to that.
Inside there were shoes to the sides of the hallway and Izuku was barefoot. His family probably takes their shoes off at the door like gons. I stepped on the heels of my shoe to take them off and schooch them together once they were off.
Gon smiled, lifting up his foot, jumping for balance occasionally, and trying to pry off his boots without uniting the whole thing. "Thanks for inviting us!" He cheered then frowned at his foot. He sat down on the floor probably deciding that it would be easier.
"I'm glad you two could make it!" Izuku cheered.
These two are so cheerful. It's kinda hard to watch...
Gon finally got his boots off, so Izuku started walking us through the house. We got to the living room and saw what I'm assuming is his mom, cooking in the open kitchen. She saw us and smiled brightly, "It's so nice to meet you two! Izuku has told me so much about you two!"
"Glad to be here," I said, trying to be polite. They're all so cheerful...
"The bathrooms over there." He pointed to another door in the hallway. He seems pretty awkward. Must be the first time in a while someone has been over especially with his mom's reaction to seeing us. We moved to and then opened a door with an Allmight merch thing with his name on it. "And here's my room."
"Wow... you sure are a fanboy." I laughed, looking at the many action figures and posters he had.
Izuku rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "Yeah... Ever since I was little, I always looked up to Allmight." He walked over to his desk, sitting in his rolly chair, facing us.
"Colored pencils!" Gon looked at his cup of colored pencils on his desk in awe.
"You are such a kid." I laughed at him, sitting on Izukus bed with my legs crossed.
"Wanna draw stuff? He offered, opening a drawer.
"Yes! I haven't colored in forever. Mito used to have me draw so I wouldn't go outside all the time." Gon smiled, grabbing, and looking at the different colors.
Izuku closed the drawer with paper and a few textbooks in hand. "Here." He passed me a paper and history book and then gave one of each to gon.
"Choose your weapon!" Gon shook the pencil cup at us, imitating an evil videogame narrators voice
I got blue, Izuku got green and gon chose orange.
"What should we draw?" I wondered.
"How about we each give a prompt and we all draw our own version of it?" Izuku offered.
Gon plopped down next to me, "Yes! I'll go first. Animals."
Which animal should I draw... hmm... oh I know!
After a minute of all of us drawing, gon put his paper up for us to see.
Izuku looked at it with confusion "Pigs go reeeeh?"
"This one does." Gon laughed.
Izuku laughed awkwardly, probably not knowing what Gon meant.
It won't hurt for Izuku to know, plus it's a good conversation starter. "Hey Gon, do you want to tell him about the hunter exam?"
"You'll let me!?"
"Go for it." I smiled at his enthusiasm.
"I met Killua at the hunter's exam!" Gon smiled.
"Oh cool! What is a hunter exam though?" Izuku asked.
I then explained, "Where we come from, there are people who are called hunters. They basically get to do whatever they want and get a bunch of privileges. They can go into territory's others can't, they can get free food, hotel visits, public transportation and more."
Izuku eyed one of his many notebooks on his desk.
"Don't you dare write anything." I threatened.
He waved his hands in the air and looked at the floor, nervously sweating. "I know, I know! I won't. Promise."
"There's also a cool website you can use to get exclusive information! You can only open it if you have a hunters license." Gon added.
"Oh I get it, that's really cool. I'm assuming you take the exam to become a hunter?" Izuku asked.
"Wow, you're smart. And yes, there are multiple phases to it. The phases change every year. The location changes too. A good hunter needs to know how to get info." I said.
Gon then cheered, "In the first phase, we ran for two days straight!"
His eyes widened and jaw dropped. "TWO DAYS!?"
Gon nodded quickly and continued. "We raced and tied. I still think I won. And then in the second one, Hisoka almost killed me!" Gon put his hands on his neck as if choking himself.
Izukus eyes showed concern for Gon and he closed his mouth. He was about to speak when Gon interrupted him.
"But then I almost died so he let me go! And then he took care of Leorio. And then I found Kurapika. And then it was the third phase and that's where we found a bunch of killer pigs!"
Izuku looked like he was going to pass out. "Took care? Almost die? Killer pigs??"
"Yeah! They have huuuuggeee snouts that they use to ram into their prey, breaking all their bones! Their carnivorous too if you didn't get that yet since plants don't have bones!"
Izuku looked at Gons drawing which was shoved in his face and stared at it blankly.
"I think you broke him..."
"Oops." Gon put the paper down. "What did you draw?" He asked me.
"I drew mike."
"Wasn't the category animals?" Izuku started functioning again.
"Yeah, he's my family's guard dog."
"Mikes really big! Way bigger than your apartment. I wonder if he will be able to eat it... what do you think, Killua?"
"I think you're scaring him." Gon looked back at Izuku who was leaning in his chair, his head flopping down lifelessly.
"Oops."
Izuku handed over his paper, still looking lifeless, "...I drew a bunny..."
