Fly!
3rd POV
Bisky tried her best not to freak out but she didn't expect something like this was going to happen. For this girl to have nen is mind-boggling. Bisky already checked in many libraries and websites and there were absolutely no records of anything related to nen.
'Did the boys activate her nen?' She questioned internally. No, they couldn't have. This is the first time they met. But then how on earth does she have it? Are people around the world developing it or something?
"My name is Nejire and my quirk is Wave motion." She said, doing a flip in the air.
Bisky just looked at her blankly before taking a quick look at Gon and Killua. It seemed to her like they just noticed. Bisky glared at them and they shrugged their shoulders, not knowing what to say.
Nejire stopped, noticing her distraction. "You ok? Do you want me to do it again?"
Bisky looked back at her and waved her arms in apology. "Not yet. Can you explain your quirk for me?"
"Sure," Nejire said a bit confused at her actions but let it slide. She floated towards Bisky and landed on her feet, deactivating her aura/quirk. "My quirk uses my vitality to create blast waves as you saw. I can control the amount that is released. I can also use it to fly by discharging it at my feet."
"Vitality?" Bisky asked, foreign to the word.
"Basically my stamina. I work on gaining stamina all the time since my quirk uses a lot of it." Nejire explained.
"To sum it up, is it waves of vitality from your body?" Bisky asked, slowly connecting the dots.
"Yes, ma'am!" She smiled.
'They must have just named it that, not knowing that it is actually is her life energy that she is using. She can emit life force in spiral waves. I wonder if that is all she can do with her life force? I haven't seen her use any other techniques besides ten which is basically opening your aura nodes.' Bisky concluded.
"Alright. Thank you very much." Bisky said. "We can now continue with combat training. Gon, you will be sparing against Mirio without quirks, so you both know how to manage without them." She said looking at the two. Gon shouted osu and Mirio nodded, hoping this would be an interesting fight.
"Killua is with Tamaki. No quirks allowed. Killua, teach him some close-combat moves that he might not already know." Tamaki looked at Killua and internally whined, wanting to leave already. Killua got off from his place leaning on the wall and walked over to Tamaki, making his social anxiety spike.
'Hopefully, Killuas laid back attitude will make Tamaki less anxious.' Bisky thought before saying her reasoning why she didn't want them to use their quirks. "There may be a time where you run out of food and still need to fight. Or it could be that you don't have a useful type of food in your system like I don't know... celery? You need to know how to deal with that. As for Killua, you cant charge up all the time and can't rely on that either."
"Izuku, practice using your quirk to punch through the wall." She ordered, pointing to the wall he made a crack. "Your ultimate goal is to make a hole in one swing. Focus your quirk more on your fist than anything." She looked at Cemenots, "Can you make as many 3 inch walls as he needs?" She asked. He nodded and got to work.
Nedzu looked at the pairings and they were pretty well planned out and had good reasoning. Bisky thought of this pretty quickly and with ease. It was safe to say that he was impressed.
Nedzu knew that Mirio's battle style relied highly on his quirk and hasn't had much practice without it, so this would be good for him. Tamaki will be practicing his social skills and maybe learning new moves with Killua. Izuku will be having the practice he needs to control his destructive quirk. Gon and Killua he was still curious about though. Gon was holding back when demonstrating his quirk and Killua hasn't been trying very hard in this lesson or any other. It was kinda concerning. Nedzu also did get a report from Aizawa that Killua might have been abused and has ran away from home to go live with gon and Bisky. All in all, Nedzu was keeping an eye on Killua.
"What about me?" Nejire asked.
"You will be sparring with me. I'm curious about your quirk and have a few ideas." Bisky answered.
Another interesting interaction. Nedzu looked at the two girls. Bisky said little to nothing about her and kept a lot of her thoughts to herself this time. For a small moment, she seemed almost shocked at her. I could very well understand. Not many people have quirks as beautiful and powerful as hers.
Nedzu walked over to one of the chairs on the sidelines and grabbed popcorn, eager to see the battles.
Killua was showing Tamaki some moves for when there are people surrounding you and attacking all at once.
Mirio and gon started to have a heated battle. Mirio would send powerful punches towards gon. But gon kept on dodging. They both gave each other a few good hits and were getting hyped.
Bisky signaled Nejire to come at her.
She floated in the air around 2 meters away from her. She sent golden spirals towards Bisky, but she moved out of the way with ease. Next thing Nejire knew, Bisky was behind her, in the air.
She harshly hit her back, making her zoom over to the other side of the building. Nedzu shouted at her, "Are you using your quirk Bisky?!"
"My quirk stays on all the time, but I am going easy on her if that's what your wondering!" Bisky said as she landed on the floor. Nejire slowly got up, knowing that will bruise later.
"You got skills, lady." She said, floating back up.
"Thank you, girlie," Bisky replied.
Nejire sent a burst of a bunch of shockwaves. Bisky dodged all of them since they were pretty small. Nejire knew not to get too closes to Bisky since she was a close combat fighter.
Bisky jumped in front of Nejire. The girl sent out a spiral surge to Bisky who was incredibly close. She quickly protected her torso with a thick layer of aura and was blasted back. "That's pretty strong. I'll tell you that." Bisky said now on the floor. Nejire, however, was trying to regain her balance midair.
Right before Nejire sent a shockwave, Bisky kicked her harshly on the side. Because of this, her attack did not hit as well as it should have. Bisky dusted her dress off. She was unharmed but that attack was quite powerful.
Nejire gained balance once more. Right now, she was above the wall that Izuku was in the middle of punching.
Izuku punched the wall harshly once again and this time it let out a big crack.
"Woah, good job!" Nejire cheered for Izuku. He was startled but Nejire flew back to Bisky, quicker than he could figure out who said that. Nejire hoped that she could catch Bisky somewhat off guard.
The battles raged on. Tamaki learned a lot and got semi-comfortable with Killua. Gon and Miro were having a great time sparing and adapting to each other's moves. Bisky learned that Nejire was really good at controlling her quirk. She knows how to use Ryu very well too. (The nen technique where you have different percentages of aura in your body.)
Her biggest issue was lack of speed with her waves and her aura stamina.
Once Bisky had seen all she needed to, she ended their battle session, telling her to come over so she can give her feedback. "I'm amazed by how well you are doing with your quirk. You have so much control over it and know how to use it to the best of its ability."
Nejire smiled at the compliments. She was working very hard throughout the years to master it, so she felt pretty confident in herself. "Thank you. I train a lot."
"Yes. Practicing and training days is the only way you can master something." Bisky said. "I do have an idea on how we can increase your stamina without doing something like running."
"Please tell! As much as I need it, I don't always have time to run 3 miles every day." Nejire laughed a bit strained because it was annoying. The larger stamina you have, the longer you have to practice to make it grow. She had a lot of it so it wasn't easy to fit the time she needed to do it in her schedule.
"After everything I've learned about you, I have thought of some exercises that might help," Bisky said.
"That's pretty fast," Nejire said impressed.
Bisky smiled. "Thanks." She then continued. "The energy your quirk needs flows throughout your body. It's not a pocket. What you can try doing is making that energy flow stronger." Bisky tried to explain without saying nen vocab or anything about life force.
Nejire tilted her head in confusion, waiting for her to continue her explanation. "OK. Let's see if this is better." Bisky came up with another idea on how to describe ren. "Your energy can burst out in strong spirals right?"
"Yes."
"Do the exact same thing, but inside," Bisky said, motioning her hands towards her torso.
"I get it!" Nejire excaimed.
"Do you really?" Bisky wasn't convinced.
"No..." Nejire sulked. She normally understood things quickly, but she was having some difficulty this time.
"That's ok," Bisky assured making Nejire feel a bit better. "I'm not even sure if your quirk will allow you to do this, but it's worth trying in my opinion." Bisky could tell Nejire was open to trying it by her body language and facial expression. "Can you start floating again for me?"
Nejire did as told, looking at her oddly, but trusting her.
"How does it feel?" She asked.
"I feel like my quirk is on," Nejire said, not getting the picture.
Bisky facepalmed at her bluntness and lack of description. "How can you tell your quirk is on?"
"I can feel the energy. OH, IT GET IT NOW!" She cheered excitedly.
"There you go." Bisky smiled at her excited expression.
She continued feeling her quirk/aura flow through her body, mainly at her feet since she was using the waves to float. "So you're saying just to turn it on and not put most of it at my feet?" She asked hovering a foot above the floor now.
"Yes. Your understanding quickly." Bisky said, impressed. She already realized she was using Ryu. (Where you use percentages of aura throughout the body like 70% for feet and 30% for the rest of your body. )
She then tried to do it. Bisky watched with Gyo as she slowly moved aura from her feet to the rest of her body, trying not to have it turn off completely.
Nejire was about to have an equal amount of aura throughout the body when she tripped over the air when trying to land on the ground. Out of habit, she sent out waved from her feet and shot herself towards the ceiling, almost hitting it, but she managed to regain balance in the air. "ARGG!! I was so close too!"
"Don't worry you did fantastic!" Nejire floated back down to Bisky again.
"I know but it's just so frustrating! All because I panicked when landing..." Nejire pouted, crossing her arms.
"I can help steady you if you're scared about falling." Gon offered since he and Mirio declared a tie. The battle would have kept on going forever if they didn't stop. Earlier, gon was listening to Bisky's instructions, understanding that she was trying to teach her ren so she can prolong the time she can use her quirk.
Killua walked next to gon, putting an arm on Gon's shoulder. "This dude is the person least afraid of heights." Killua gestured to Gon with a smile...
"Says the guy who jumped off a cliff. " Gon chided, turning to Killua.
Killua was irked at the statement. "Excuse me? You're the one who jumped first!"
Tamaki went on red alert when he heard these statements. "You guys matter. P-please don't jump off any more cliffs. If you need to talk to anyone... I'm here... Mirio w-will help too. I'm not really sure how much I can help, but yeah..." He looked down at the floor. He knew what dealing with depression was like and wouldn't want anyone else to deal with it. If he could help them out in any way, then he would be happy too. Although it would be a bit hard to talk to them considering his social anxiety. He thought that this could potentially be beneficial to both of them considering the fact that everyone tells him that he should keep on practicing social skills.
Gon didn't understand why he suddenly did this but was glad that he was trying to come out of his shell. "Thank you! I'm here for you too if you need any help with something other than schoolwork. I'm not that great at that..." Gon said.
Killua walked over, realizing the reason why Tamaki came over to them. "Thank you, really. It was the cliff statement that made you come over here right?"
Tamaki started shaking in anxiety, but still wanted to be strong for his juniors. "Y-yeah. Are you guys ok? I can't imagine doing that." He breathed in and out slowly, trying to calm his nerves. He wasn't used to talking about such a personal subject or even talking to a person at all.
"Yeah. He's never had that state of mind before. He is cupcakes and rainbows all the time." Killua assured. "We went cliff diving. The one where you conquer your fears and dive into the water from a taller piece of land." Killua said, seeing the way Tamaki covered his face with his hands, blushing in embarrassment. He thought gon was suicidal or something, but he was just having fun. Tamaki assumed things too quickly and now he was paying for it with the humiliation. Now his junior was trying to comfort him. "Hey, hey. It was nothing. You were just worried about us." Killua reassured and tried to see his face but Tamaki turned to look at the wall. "I'm sure if Gon understood what you were concerned about, he would be grateful for your actions. I know I was." Killua said truthfully.
Tamaki looked at Killua's honest expression from the corner of his eyes before retreating back to staring at the wall when they made eye contact. Killua then said, "I've felt like crap for a long time, but you just have to learn how to deal with it and focus on something better. It might come back, but hopefully, you're a bit stronger and will know how to deal with it better than before." As Killua said this, he thought about his many year's training to be an assassin. He never enjoyed killing people and his mom always stressed him out. So he dealt with it by stabbing her and leaving. Probably not the best way to do it, but that's what he could do at that moment.
He has had the happiest moments in his life with gon and he wouldn't trade it for the world. He just has to keep them both away from Illumi and all will be ok.
Tamaki wanted to hug Killua, but Greg, his social anxiety didn't let him. However, he was able to battle with Greg and win just enough so he could look Killua in the eye and say, "You're gonna be ok." This caused Killua to smile fondly. Oddly enough, it helped combat the foreboding feeling that he will lose Gon just as Illumi said.
Greg then made Tamaki retreat to Mirio who smiled at him, calming his nerves slightly with his presence.
While Killua was walking to Tamaki, Gon was helping Nejire steady herself when he floated down, trying to use ten.
Nedzu overheard Killua's talk with Tamaki and took note that Killua had depression when he was younger. Nedzu was also proud of Tamaki for coming out of his shell in order to help others. It was something that the staff has been helping him out with through the years and it seems to be slowly working.
Bisky on the other hand. He started to think that she had another quirk which lets her know about other's quirks, strengths, weaknesses, etc because she was that good. She even didn't break a sweat when battling Nejire, one of the top 3 students. She also came out unscathed which was amazing since she took a powerful hit so close to Nejire.
Gon was astonishing too. He fought on par with Mirio. There was the fact that they were both sparrings without quirks, but its still amazing how much talent and skill these newcomers have.
Cementos clapped as he watched Izuku successfully make a hole in the fresh wall he created for him.
Izuku was sweating and tired, but he was overjoyed. He made a hole in the wall with his quirk!
Bisky cheered for Izuku, giving him some praise for his accomplishment. He smiled back happily.
Nedzu got off his chair and set his empty bag of popcorn on the floor next to it. He moved his chair closer to the students and Bisky. He then got up and announced, "You all did a splendid job today! I enjoyed watching all of your progress and Bisky's teaching style. As much as I would like to see more, another teacher has booked Gym Gamma for later today, so we must get going." Nejire and gon whined at Nedzu. Gon was on Nejires back as she flew through the air.
He was helping her steady herself when trying to land, but she ended up panicking again and blast off with Gon still holding on to her. Gon asked if they could stay like that since he always wanted to fly. Bisky decided to let the kids have some fun. Gon has been flying on Nejires back for the past few minutes and was having a lot of fun.
Nejire frowned and said a quick, "Next time. Promise." to Gon. He smiled as she went down the floor, turning off her quirk and landed. Gon hopped off her back and thanked her for the flight. She returned it with a smile.
Nedzu then turned to Bisky. "I'm happy to announce that you're getting the job!"
"Wait that's why we were here?" Mirio asked because he forgot the whole point of this.
"Yes. That is why I called all of you." Nedzu sweatdropped.
Bisky cheered in delight. "In your face Killua!" She pointed to the boy who stuck his tongue out at her. She turned to a confused Nedzu. "He didn't believe in me."
"Shut up baba!" Killua yelled.
The other students just laughed at the two.
