Chika won the fight between Hisoka. Now, the next round is between Gon and Hanzo. Who will win?

"Okay" Leorio is finished treating her wound and he gives her two ponytails.

"Thanks, Rioleo"

"IT'S LEORIO!" he said with a vein on his on head.

"Chika, you don't feel any pain?" Killua asked.

"No. It's more painful when you train with my teacher. She's merciless when she teaches somebody"

"No wonder you were well trained" Leorio said.

"Hey, good to see you again" Hanzo said to Masta.

"You were tailing me during the Fourth Phase"

"You noticed?"

"Naturally... I'm assuming that each applicant was assigned an examiner for the Fourth Phase. Well, I'm sure everyone noticed"

"I have no idea" Gon said in his mind.

"I obviously noticed" Killua said in his mind.

"I noticed it but it's not necessary to mention it" Chika said in her head.

"I thought it wasn't worth mentioning" Kurapika said to Leorio.

"Y-yeah..."

"How was I supposed to notice that?" Leorio asked himself.

"I have my thanks. My rank was higher because your reports on me were accurate. Though the outcome was never in doubt"

"Y-yes"

"Moving on, I have a question for you"

"What is it?"

"We only win if our opponent surrenders, correct? It doesn't count when we knock them unconscious? No TKOs allowed, either?"

"Yes. That is correct"

"I see. This one could be difficult..." Hanzo said in his mind.

"He looks tough but we should be even in terms of strength and speed. I can us my speed to keep on the move until I find an opening" Gon said in his mind.

"Now then, it's time to begin" Masta said and they're in a fighting stance.

"Get him, Gon" Leorio said in his head.

"How well can he do against Hanzo?" Kurapika asked in his head.

"BEGIN!" Masta puts his arms down and Gon runs away.

"Put some distance between us..." then Hanzo appears at his left.

"You must be confident in your legs. You have my respect" Hanzo said and he hand chopped his neck. Gon's vision changes.

"You did well for a kid"

"Tsk. I could have easily dodged that attack" Killua said to himself.

"His skills. This Hanzo is a ninja. Well, it's obvious. If I were in Gon's place, I could've attack him first or he'll attack him first. In short, I can beat him" Chika said to herself.

"Well, this would be already over if it were a normal fight..." Hanzo said and he sits up Gon.

"Here. Wake up" Hanzo bends his back and Gon feels pain.

"You must feel terrible. I hit you hard enough to make your brain bounce around. Do you understand? You have no chance against me. Might as well give up now..." Gon's vision is blurry and then he coughs.

"Think about it. If you surrender now, you'll still be in your decent shape for your next fight. There's no need to be stubborn. Just surrender"

"NEVER GONNA HAPPEN!" Hanzo hits him again and then on his stomach. Gon falls down.

"GON! Don't be silly! You'll still have another chance! You should.." Leorio is cut by Kurapika.

"Leorio! If you were in Gon's place, would you surrender?" he asked.

"Hell, no! This guy thinks he's hot stuff..."

"Gon feels the same way..."

"I know. I know that. But there isn't any other choice!"

"You're contradicting yourself, but I understand how you feel" they can't stand what's happening to Gon. Hanzo kicks Gon flying.

"Yield this fight, Gon. It's suicide!" Kurapika said to him in his head.

"Honestly, the chairman's nasty streak is in a class on its own" Menchi said.

"What do you mean?" Bhara asked.

"The applicants who've made it this far are unlikely to simply surrender"

"True" Hanzo hits him again.

"This goes beyond a 'rather peculiar fight'. This system is just plain crazy. That kid's in danger.

For three hours, Hanzo kept on hitting Gon and Gon's blood is scattered on the floor.

"It's been three hours" Pokkle said.

"There's nothing left for him to vomit" Bodoro said.

"Get up" Hanzo said. Leorio is clenching his fist.

"Enough, already.... I'M GONNA KILL YOU! I'LL FIGHT YOU IN HIS PLACE!" Leorio said.

"If you can't take it, leave. It's only going to get worse" Hanzo said.

"WHAT WAS THAT?!" Leorio steps foreward and other men blocks him.

"No one will interfere a one,-on-one match. We already warned you" Masta said.

"It' okay... Leorio" Gon forces himself to stand up.

"This is... nothing... I-I can still fight..." Hanzo kicks his legs and he falls down. Hanzo kneals down and holds his hands.

"I'm going to break your arm" their eyes widen.

"I'm not joking around so give up. Surrender"

"NEVER!" Hanzo breaks his left arm. Gon is suffering the pain.

"He really broke his arm" Pokkle said.

"There you go. You can't use your left arm anymore" Hanzo said. Leorio is gritting his teeth because of frustration.

"Kurapika, don't try to stop me. If that bastard does anything to Gon... Sorry, Gon, but I can't stop myself"

"Me? Stop you? Don't worry. There is no chance of that happening" Kurapika's eyes are almost turning to scarlet because of his anger.

"I'm sure you're in too much pain to listen but hear me out" Hanzo puts his hand on the floor and stands.

"I am descended from the shinobi, a clan of covert agents. From the say I was born, I was forced to endure harsh training in order to master the art of ninpo. For eighteen years, I have trained my body and technique without rest. By the time I was your age, I've already killed a man"

"Heh. There's nothing to brag about" Killua said in his mind and Hanzo stands using his fingers.

"At this point in time, you cannot defeat me in combat" then he uses his two fingers.

"I'm trying to be nice" then he uses one finger.

"Isn't he a bit full of himself? All his talking can lead Gon in advantage" Chika said in her mind.

"Admit defeat..." Gon kicks Hanzo. They're suprised.

"There you have it" Chika said while smiling cooly. Gon falls down.

"Ow..." Gon tries to stand up and he hold his broken arm.

"Damn it! My head's cleared up a bit, after all the pain and that long explanation" Gon said.

"YES! GON, GO! KICK HIM WHILE HE'S DOWN!" Leorio said happily.

"If you're eigtheen then you're only six years older than I am. Besides, this isn't a battle to see who's stronger. It's to see who's willing to surrender first" Gon said and Hanzo jumps up and stands.

"I let you kick me on purpose" he said while his nose is bleeding.

"LIAR!" Leorio said

"You don't understand... This isn't a warning..." Hanzo wipes his nose.

"It's an ultimatum. Was it too hard for you to understand? Then I make it easier for you" Hanzo has a blade from his right arm.

"I'll cut off your legs, so that they can't be reattached" then he swings it diagonally.

"A permanent injury should help to wake you up. But first, I'll ask you once more. Surrender" Hanzo said with a scary face.

"I won'taccept that!" Gon said and everyone freezes except Killua.

"I don't want my legs to cut off, but I don't want to surrender. So let's find a different way to fight! " Gon said and Hanzo has a sweatdrop.

"Hey... DO YOU UNDERSTAND YOUR OWN SITUATION?!" they are all suprised. Leorio's jaw drops and the others laughs.

"YOU DON'T GET TO MAKE DEMANDS! ARE YOU TRYING TO INSULT ME?! I'M SERIOUSLY GONNA CUT OFF YOUR LEGS!"

"He has a point, anyway" Chika said.

"Huh?"

"If you cuts his legs, Gon will bleed to death and you'll be disqualified. Just common sense" Chika said pointing her head.

"That's exactly my reason. Neither of us wants that to happen. So let's think of a better way" Hanzo is irritated.

"I think he's okay now. Gon's taken control" Kurapika said.

"He's so self-centered..." Leorio said.

"But he's succeeded in convincing Hanzo and the rest of us. Honestly..."

"What is this? The situation hasn't changed. Gon hasn't gotten any stronger than his opponent. His arm is still broken! So why is the brutal atmosphere from before suddenly is so much lighter?" Killua is confused. Hanzo is piss off so he points his blade on Gons forehead and it starts to bleed.

"You really don't get it... If you die, you'll never get another chance. If I kill you here, I only need try again next year. We are not on equal footing" Hanzo said.

"He's right, Gon. You can try all you want to talk your way out of here, but he's far stronger than you. That isn't something you can neutralize on the spot. It all comes down to power" Kirua said in his head. There was a moment of silence.

"Why won't you concede? It's easy to do. You can try again next year. You value your pride than your own life?! You're willing to die for your pride!" then there's another silence in the air.

"I'm going to find my dad"

"Your dad?"

"My dad is a Hunter. I'm going to become a Hunter and find him! I believe that I'll find him one day. But I have a feeling that if I give up now, I'll never find him!" His blood drops.

"So I won't surrender"

"If you don't yield, you'll die..."

"He defies reason..." Hanzo keeps his blade.

"I give up. You win..." everyone is suprised.

"I can't kill you. But I can't think of a way to make you surrender. I'll take this loss and take my chances in the next battle!"

"I can't accept that. THAT'S UNFAIR!" Gon points him and Hanzo has a vein on his head.

"We both have to think of a way to settle this fight!"

"Heh. I knew you would say that" Hanzo turns around.

"YOU FOOL! THERE'S NO POINT, BECAUSE YOU'LL NEVER SURRENDER!"

"BUT I DON'T WANT TO WIN LIKE THIS!"

"WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?!"

"WE CAN WORK TOGETHER TO FIGURE IT OUT!"

"In other words, I've already given up this match, but you want me to try to win again, while helping you determine a way to make you feel good about your victory! Is thay right?" Hanzo asked irritated.

"Uh-huh!"

"YOU MORON!" Hanzo knocks him out flying.

"Hey, ref. I lose. Let's move on to the next match"

"Understood"

"But I want to tell the executive committee something first. When he wakes up, he'll probably refuse his passing judgement. Because he's a stubborn boy, as we've seen. Only one person fail this round, right? If Gon fails, wouldn't that make the rest of the fights meaningless?"

Gon's victory has been reassured following Hanzo's concession. Who will be the single applicant that will fail?"
