~Ch 1~ A Never-forgotten Promise. Part 1.

The reactions from the prologue met my satisfactory level, so I thank you readers.

I admit, I read the prologue many times, and am quite proud of it (despite it being way to sappy and over dramatic). Hopefully, this chapter will meet your expectations. I'm trying to focus on updating my other older fanfics but have been busy by my new love for light novels.

Though that love ended very disappointingly...(basically, I found that most light novels aren't really my 'type')

I probably won't be able to update this week because I have a project which will zap most of my energy leaving me hibernating the rest of the weekend before school starts up again. Ugh, I wish I have a longer time to sleep.

This chapter might have a noticeably different writing style or feel. Because the last chapter was the prologue, I tried to make it brief yet mysterious so that it would capture the audience (The audience is you, dear reader, and myself when I read it over). So this chapter is a bit more practical and much less emotional (To everyone's relief or disappointment.)At least that's what I think. Who knows, some of you readers might be the type to easily cry when a character dies even though you only knew him for once chapter.

It really depends on the person.

Anyway, enjoy this chapter; as there may not be one for a while.

~O~

TRY READING WHILE LISTENING TO THE SOUNDTRACK AT THE TOP, DON'T KNOW THE EFFECT SINCE I NEVER TRIED IT BUT DO TELL ME HOW IT GOES.

It was another day. Another night. A full moon that still looked beautiful no matter how many, many times Zeno had gazed at it.

He wouldn't have imagined that such an ordinary night would be the night where everything changed.

It seemed like a dream. A dream he prayed would come true, only to wake up with quiet disappointment and a stronger yearning.

But he could tell.

This was not a dream.

This was reality.

"Its been a while...Shin-ha, Kija, Jae-ha, Yoon, Hak....Yona." A young man with vibrant golden hair said with a nostalgic smile, tears were threatening to spill.

"Mmn...We came to keep our promise, Zeno." Before the Yellow Dragon wasn't an wounded old woman with gray hair that outnumbered the red like the last time Zeno saw, but instead a young girl that was remembered for her signature red hair. The one Zeno remembered.

Princess Yona. Reincarnation of King Hiryuu, ruler of the Four Dragons.

Behind her were familiar smiling/smirking faces which were the Four Dragons, Hak, and Yoon, all looking like they did when Zeno first met them. Young and in their prime.

The Blue Dragon, Shin-ha, was trembling, not because his mask was no longer present, but because he wanted nothing more but to hug his half-brother whom he hasn't seen in so long.

The White Dragon, Kija, had visible tears in his eyes, despite all the wisdom he had gained during his life, the Hakuryuu forever remained the slightly naive and childish one in the group.

The Green Dragon, Jae-ha, was smiling despite trying to display a smirk. He had many, many things he wanted to talk about with his immortal half-brother, not wanting to admit that he had missed the Yellow Dragon.

The Mother of the group, Yoon, was smiling so brightly. Happy to see his immortal family member as well as relieved that Zeno didn't lose his mind during the thousands of years in solitude.

The Thunder Beast, Hak, was the closest to Yona, despite already being dead, he was unable to get rid of his habits of guarding her, she was his master and lover after all. His mouth whispered a small 'thank you' to the Yellow Dragon, for protecting her when he left to afterlife. This time, Hak was determined to keep his promise to Zeno.

Yona was not looking at anyone else but Zeno, tears already flowing, as she struggled to keep her breath straight.

"W-We found a way for you to j-join us!" She exclaimed, trying to calm down. " We ask the God's and they agreed, but...I'm sorry Zeno, you have to live a little longer before all of us can be together once more. The God's prepared a test, if you pass, you can become mortal...but if you don't, then you will remain immortal forever...I, no we, believe that you can pass Zeno. So will you take it?" Yona held out a hand towards Zeno.

Zeno had no hesitation as he took the hand, holding tightly as if afraid it would disappear.

"If Little Miss and everyone believe that Zeno can pass, then its fine. Zeno believes in himself as well. Zeno didn't spend all these years rolling around after all."

It was true. He may be patient and his love for his comrades urged him on, but even he was on the brink of insanity during hard times. He was slightly ashamed to admit that he spent all his time focusing on learning a bunch of meaningless things, all to distract him. He didn't need any of these talents he learned during his life of solitude.

He didn't need food.

He didn't need money.

He could care less where he slept.

Any wounds disappear in an instant.

He fought many battles. He was experienced and skilled.

Yet he urged himself to learn as many traits as possible, despite not even having a goal in life anymore. Sword-fighting, archery, horse-back riding, driving, skate-boarding, hacking, ninjitsu, taekwondo, karate, boxing, judo, akido, kung-fu, painting, cooking, writing, singing, composing, magic, dancing, every single sport, every single instrument, every single weapon, any occupation. Name anything, he had mastered them all.

That's just how long he lived. Thousands of years. He had plenty of time, and he did it all.

Zeno gave a childish smile that somehow looked like a smirk. "Zeno doesn't want to brag, but Zeno thinks that Zeno is pretty badass now!"

SILENCE.

Then laughter.

~O~

"Ok, Zeno, this explanation is going to take a while, so no questions until the end." Yoon said, holding up a finger and looking at the smiling Yellow Dragon sternly.

After a somewhat tearful catch-up, everyone was able to calm down. Or at least, forcing themselves to save it for another time.

"Haiiii~" Zeno answered as he flopped down on a bed that suddenly appeared and sank into it, enjoying the warmth.

The others watched in amusement as Kija suddenly had a pair of nerdy glasses an coughed as if preparing to give a speech even though Yoon was really the only one who was talking.

All of them were currently in some kind of void of space. Yoon, the only one who actually payed attention to how everything in after life works, explained that they were currently not in heaven, but a certain dimension where it uses imagination as a fuel for everything. So basically, imagine something and POOF! It appears.

This dimension also was in the center of the universe so it was connected to other dimensions.

A roll of paper appeared in front of Yoon as he coughed to grab everyone's attention before starting to read the scroll.

"These are the notes I took when the God's explained your mission. Its about 200 pages long, but knowing your character, your probably going to be asleep by the time its over along with everyone else so I put it all into short version."

Bless the self-proclaimed pretty boy genius's soul.

Kija, Jae-ha, and Hak sagged in relief of being spared the 200 pages, Zeno just smiled. He wouldn't mind reading it all. It was important after all. Besides, with all the mind practice he had, he could now practically flip through a book once and memorize the entire contents.

'But they don't need to know that.' Zeno thought. He didn't see it as impressive after all, just a useful skill. Besides, its not that big of a deal or important.

"To put it bluntly. The God's decided to send you to the world of Hunter X Hunter, an anime/manga series which you watched, where it is 102.32 times more dangerous then our world. Your mission will not be mentioned. Its sort of a thing that will just appear on its own. Basically the only thing that damn cryptic Yellow Dragon God said was that Zeno just needs to live in the world of HxH until the end of the manga series, it will be then when it is to see if Zeno failed his mission or not."

Zeno's mind blanked out for a mere second before coming back to reality.

"...Okay?" He said with a little uncertainty. Honestly, Zeno lost Yoon around the part when he mentioned that he was going to the world of Hunter X Hunter.

True, Zeno did watch it out of the need to distract himself. And he will not lie. Zeno enjoyed it. A lot. Almost cried even.

"Yeah...it probably is a lot to take in. Your going to a whole new dimension which is much more dangerous then ours, not to mention you to don't know your mission and have a chance of failing it." Yoon became a little gloomy as a serious atmosphere came to be.

"..."

"But it will be fine." Yona stood up with a determined expression, she turned to smile at everyone but was looking at Zeno with a expression of full trust.

"We all know what the mission is. We're not allowed to tell Zeno, but you all know that mission. Its not logical, its not easy, but its something that I know Zeno would do without hesitation, so I doubt we have to worry much."

Everyone smiled while Zeno felt like pouting since he felt left out, not knowing what his special mission was.

Zeno blinked when Yona cupped his hands between her own and smiled a warm smile. "We spoke to your half-brothers you know. Kija, Jae-ha, and Shin-ha treat them like older brothers almost every time we see them (though they never admit it). We've met them. Your former comrades, Gu-en, Abi, and Shu-Ten...and King Hiryuu."

Zeno's eyes widened as Yona continued talking.

"They're doing well! They talk about you every time we see them! They're waiting for you, so I believe that you will pass this test with flying colours!'

Zeno's eyes softened as his smile turned watery. "Is that so...? I'm glad they're doing well..." Zeno said as he looked down so that his bangs would cover his eyes to hide the tears of happiness he felt. The Yellow Dragon didn't even realize that he didn't speak in Third Person because he was so overwhelmed.

"As beautiful as this moment is, I hate myself for breaking it, but we don't have much time." Jae-ha, the Green Dragon announced, though anyone could tell that he regretted it but there really was a time limit to how long they could stay together. Spirits and the living cannot be together for a long period of time because of the barrier between them.

Kija, eyes twitched as he held back the urge to rip his half-brother into pieces. The Rokuryuu was right after all.

"Yeah...we don't have a lot of time now do we?" Yoon sighed. He knew that all of them wanted to catch up with the Ouryuu, but fate wouldn't have it. At least, not yet.

"Anyway, like I mentioned earlier, the world of Hunter X Hunter is 102.32 times more dangerous then our own. I have no doubt that Zeno's abilities will help him survive that world, but the God's decided to allow you to be gifted with other abilities. Your mission is not really about fighting anyone powerful, but the decisions you make since you already know whats going to happen. In the end, all will reveal itself. You don't even have to use the abilities if you want."

For some reason, everyone besides Yoon looked a little disappointed when the last part was mentioned.

Zeno didn't know whether to feel happy or not. On one hand having new abilities sounded kind of fun and perhaps useful in the world of Hunter X Hunter. On the other hand, he was immortal, he couldn't die and didn't fear death, so there really wasn't a point in making him stronger then he already is.

'But if the Gods insisted to give me such abilities, then perhaps for a reason?' Zeno wondered. In the end, he decided to accept it. Better safe then sorry.

Yona and the other visibly brightened up when Zeno announced that he was fine with having new abilities.

"That's great! We were judged to be the ones to give and choose the abilities, so we spent a lot of time thinking about it!" Yona giggled in excitement as she eagerly clapped her hands.

Kija placed a hand on his chest looking proud, "I'm sure you will like my gift the best, second to Hime-sama's gift of course!" He quickly added the last part, looking at Yona flustered, hoping that he did not offend her which Yona waved off.

"Your gift sounded pretty boring if you ask me, White Snake." Hak said with a bored tone as he slurped up some ramen soup before continuing to eat the noodles.

'Oooh! You can imagine food too!?' Zeno thought with excitement before he dramatically thought hard of meat kebabs which appeared in front of him. Zeno grabbed them and started to eat happily.

Very soon, everyone was eating something, Yoon sighed as he predicted this would be the outcome. Keeping track of the time, Yoon just went with it, a plate of curry appearing in his hands. He took a bite as he mumbled about how to shorten the summary of Zeno's mission to make it shorter then it already was with the limited time they have (which they were wasting by eating).

Shin-ha had plates piling up behind him as he started eating like a monster, not really caring what he put in his mouth as long as it was food.

Jae-ha, Kija, and Hak were arguing which delicacy was the best while Yona just watched with amusement.

No one caught Zeno happy nostalgic smile as he felt the familiar warmth that he hasn't felt for countless of years. He embraced the feeling, knowing that they wouldn't have a chance like this for a long while.

But the Zeno was determined and confident to make sure that this moment would not be there last. He vowed to the heavens on it by his honour as the first and last Yellow Dragon Warrior.

This was actually suppose to be longer, but I was too lazy and decided to just update it like this with a 'Part 2' coming out soon (I hope)

This isn't as emotional as the last chapter, but I think we need to get the facts straight before it can enter the true storyline.

Until next time~
