I run to the docks and bump into a line of different people "I was hoping to be first" I say slinging my axe over my shoulder looking over the other people, most of which I recognize as local teens from my trips to the village for food and other items. Someone behind me taps my shoulder and I just say "that isn't goimg to work on me Tadashi" I duck as a fist passes over my head and I turn and punch him in the chest.

He looks falls back with a laugh "you always were the better puncher of the two of us" the punch was his way of saying hello and it never phased me if he did somehow make contact. I help him up and he asks "your going to apply for the Hunter exam to? Nice I thought I was the only one" I didn't answer his questions because he answered them himself when I was most obvious, something I found highly annoying, but tolerated all the same.

"So who else will be joining us on this exam?" I ask him as more join the line behind him

"Everyone of the gang" he smiles

"Even Little Jimmy?" I ask wondering, he nods. I had a group of friends that I spent my free time with, most also farming kids who had either relied on themselves for support or had at least on family memeber or sibling aidimg the farm work.

The Gang (Again not sure if anyone would really care but here you go anyway)

Myself

Tadashi (Full of jokes)

Little Jimmy (actually big just a ironic name for him)

Lehona (Shes full of energy and willing to do anything dangerous)

Fu (keeps to himself to almost everone besides us)

Little Jimmy sneaks up behind me and grabs me in a arm lock and so I look back at the big lug "hey little man good to see that growth spurt hit ya hard" he smirks letting me down grunting. I nod at Lehona and Fu who were  benhind Little Jimmy "we all ready to try out?" They all chear and run onto the deck finding a spot to mingle with other applicants, some of which gave us, me essentially, death stares. I sit in a corner next to a stack of barrels " I get it trying to scope out the competition for threats" I prep for the road ahead I smell a storm coming, clouds were becoming darker and rain was easily a scent found on the breeze.

I hand my friends a few cups and heat up a glass of tea for each of them "seasickness might become common if the storm picks up so I think you all should drink up to avoid sickness" I see Tadashi thinks about refusing my offer but knows my hunches usually come true and drinks his share.

-A hour later-

As I expected the storm became choppy and so we moved down to below decks, which was in even more chaos then ive seen in awhile, men and women all rushing around to grab their sliding items or rushing to find a nearby bucket to throw up in, Fu bumped my shoulder "it was smart to drink whatever was in your tea im not feeling anything from the rocking" I nod and try to help those still fumbling around, my friends follow along my lead doing the same.

Things die down soon after and only my friend and I, a few others in the corner, were left standing the rest were moanimg and groaning from seasickness. A few sailors tended to the sick amd the captain an heavy set man with a red nose and a pipe requested to see all who were still standing, we all walked to his corters. He talked to the first few and let them off moving to us next. He looked at us "well first off ill get things started, this is a trial for  the the exam, those in charge don't have time to catalog every applicants skill so they ask me to separate those who can stand the toil of a raging storm" I nod half expecting something of this verity to happen.

He looks at us and says "why do you want to be hunters?" We all give him our plans

"I want to see all the different ladys of the world" Tadashi laughs, gettimg hit by Lehona afterwards.

"I just want to eat exotic food!" Little Jimmy smiles rubbing his stomach.

"Me same as him but I plan to eat even more" Lehona laughs sticking her tongue out a Little Jimmy when he acts like thats a challenge.

"To see the world and get out of my regular routine" the captain looks at me and sighs "as a sea captain I had the same dream son, and I got my share of worldly experience but I would like to let you know its not all its cracked to be its much more dangerous and full of evil people, sure you'll make and loose friends along the way but just keep your eyes and ears open" he looks at us with deep eyes and lets us go "you are free to go" we all walk out of the room but he stops me "hey next time dont let your friends have your help they need to prove themselves as hunters as well, dont be giving them a leg up or it will take you all down, save working together to when amd of you all make it to Hunter status" I laughed walking out of the room "ok old timer I'll do that" I nod taking his advice even if it means leaving freinds behind.
